My mom has been a member since 2009 and the staff is super nice. But the kid center is a bit outdated. The used to have iPads in there but the removed them. Either way the staff in there is nice. (Shout out to Lauren) Also the swimming area is pretty nice. The swim couches are nice. Mrs. Tracy is really nice. Also the swim team is good. Our couch Ulysses is really nice. We have swim meets once a month. This gym is the best gym to ever go to(and the only one in garland).
I learned to develop good postures, good attitudes and good diets.I feel much more toned and fit now. I believe from my experience would definitely help me maintain a healthy lifestyle. Recommended!
Amazing positive energy flows here all day every day. Better experience than other gyms. U want to belong here.
I've been a member her for most of the past 15 years. It's a great gym concept for individuals and families. It's just pricey though. You do get a lot for what you pay and they a good job to keep it up and maintained.
We've been members here since 2005. Great employees, equipment, lockerooms, pool area, etc. everything is clean and organized and well looked after. This is definitely a top tier gym. I recommend this place .
tldr; The account managers wont cancel your account to save their numbers, and they use high-pressure sales tactics to try to get you to sign up for their training services.
I signed up for this gym in December, before I moved to Dallas because they had a no membership fee promotion, and I figured I'd be living in the Garland area. That didn't pan out, and I found myself only going sparingly, twice between January and April when I tried to cancel.
I went in April, and canceled with one of the account managers (I believe his name was Wayne or Walter, but don't quote me on that). He gave me the whole speil on why I shouldn't cancel, and all the things he was going to offer me. But I insisted that it wasn't working out due to proximity and he had me sign his electronic tablet. I thought I was done. I expected to be charged again because you have to give 30 days notice. I got billed again in May, as expected. Then I got billed again in June - this is where the nightmare started.
I called the gym, and they said that my account was not cancelled. They had a note that I had attempted to cancel but showed me as 'saved'. Utter nonsense. I explained that that was not what happened, and they told me I had to come again to cancel, or mail them a cancellation letter. I told them this was unacceptable because that would mean I would be paying yet another $87 membership fee for another month I wont use. I asked to speak with their corporate office, and when I called them - they basically said I had no proof that I cancelled, and that they would not be able to cancel me over the phone and I would have mail them a cancellation. I once again explained my concern that I didn't want to pay yet another month because I canceled in April, and already paid for May as the 30 day cancellation policy dictated. They didn't care, and I had no choice but to go to my bank and request a chargeback for June, and them to decline further payments to lifetime fitness.
They have been sending me collection threats over email ever since. I've tried speaking with their reps over email, but they all seem to be drinking the same Kool-Aid and not listening to me. One rep went as far as to suggest that I send certified mail to make sure they got it. On top of that he insisted my now past due balance was valid without even trying to work with me on it, and that I would still be subject to paying another 30 days as well as the now past due balance.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this hassle. This gym appears nice, but is just a money grab. They don't actually care about you as a customer, you're just a number to them, and they use high pressure sales tactics from the moment you step into the door, until the moment you leave.
Was a member for 2 years. This place is open 24/7. The equipment are well maintained and the staff is very friendly. They have two basketball courts, multiple racketball courts on the side and a rock climbing area on the opposite side. They also have a dry sauna, two hot spa tubs and 3 pools (2 indoor, 1 outdoor). This is the best gym I've been to.

This one of the dirtiest and oldest lifetimes around. Not much space in locker room or toilet situation is down right scary. The water fountains upstairs give out warm water and are also dirty and slimy looking. Not as many freeweights for the amount of people they have. I agree with Isa review, there is no gym edicate. Too many kids standing in the way of the weights and alot of foreigners who have never lifted before. Ive a member for 8 years but recently joined Golds gym as well to supplement my workouts on busy Lifetime days. This location is usually the last to
get new equipment as well.
This is a great club, look for Jeff to be your personal trainer you get results that are noticeable.
Super overpriced overcrowded, every time you walk in you have to fight sales people off with a stick just to get a damn workout in. I recommend Fitness Connection by far over this place. Unless you just have an extra a couple hundred bucks to blow a month this place isn't for you
I called today to get info on pricing and becoming a member and they had me on hold and hung up on me twice. Definitely not a good first impression.
Best gym l have ever belonged to. I consider it a resort. Its great for families with kids because of the nice outdoor and indoor swimming. Its expensive but worth it if you use all the facilities. Never have to wait on cardio or weight equipment. Equipment is frequently updated. Dry and wet saunas towel service, lockers plenty of tvs, wifi, and nice sitting areas.
Nice facility with lots of machines, equipment and indoor/outdoor pool. But a little pricey.
I have been a member for many years but rarely use the gym. The lack of gym edict is a terrible problem. I often go late at night to try and avoid the machine squatters. Last night I observed several machine squatters who don't move a muscle except to change the tune on their phone. One guy sat there as I finished 4 sets he only lifted his soda. I asked him if I could work in with him and he said no. He told me to go use a machine with no one on it. Many times this has happened to me over the years. Young people sit on the machine and do not let people work in. I strongly recommend a program or marketing to teach gym edict.

Really like this gym. Price is good, people are nice, rarely crowded.
Great gym with awesome prices and excellent instructors for the workout classes. The best in the area.
Do not become a member of this place. As soon as you sign the paperwork, they treat you horribly. It is overpriced and not worth it. I would recommend looking around at other gym options as other places offer similar perks for much, much less.
It's clean, they offer lots of fun activities, staff is friendly and the classes create an atmosphere of community/support.
First off I love this gym! I love what it has to offer but the employees are so rude it makes me not want to go. The only nice ones are the ones cleaning... I pay a lot to go here to be treated like dirt. They are not friendly or helpful. Im newer to this whole gym thing. I finally worked up the courage to ask someone for help with a machine and was told to come back in 4 days for an orientation to find out how everything worked... It made me feel very discouraged.... I know theres several employees working. Someone could have helped me.
I normally don't feel the need to write reviews however my experience at this LifeTime location has prompted me to write my 1st google review. I started my membership at the Garland location, however after a few months both my boyfriend and I moved cities for work. He had to talk to several different managers at the location but finally came to the agreement that as long as we could provide proof of relocation it was okay to cancel our Platinum memberships.
I sent proof to the manager Bailey Lawson, and she said it was okay to go ahead and cancel -- then she suddenly sends me an email saying that there's a Gold level gym less than 15 miles from my residence that I can go to and thus she couldn't cancel my membership anymore but could downgrade me from Platinum to Gold. I email her back with a screenshot on google maps routing from my house to the gold level gym and it's 17 miles. I guess she wasn't too happy that she made a mistake because she never responded to my email and I tried reaching her via phone many times. Finally I gave up, went to the Lifetime Fitness in Sugarland TX which was 17 miles from my house and they were helpful in cancelling my membership and also refunding what I already paid for that month.
I'm really disappointed in the type of customer service at the Garland LifeTime location, especially from Bailey. As a manager it's pretty crappy that she ignored me altogether. In the future I don't see myself returning to Lifetime fitness because their facilities weren't worth the monthly premiums. Convenience is a big factor to me and they don't have enough locations in the inner-city except the diamond/onyx ones and those really aren't worth the $100+ price per month unless you like to play tennis!
Having dealt with multiple gyms while in the military this lifetime fitness has by far been the absolute worst. I used this gym while I visited family on leave status. Originally I would have given them 5 stars for how helpful and understanding they were. However something changed and they took a turn for the worst. They told me it was back on hold and had never needed any documentation. I checked my accounts a few months later and and they continued to charge me. They said they needed some documentation which I provided but they would not return the money. I blocked them from my card and they continued to charge me and send me emails for late fees and frankly I was too busy to deal with it. If you are military highly suggest going to golds gym who have always been extremely helpful for day and week passes for leave.
I've been a member of this club for a few years now, though I barely use the club I enjoy it when I do. My issue is not the facility itself, it's with their management. For the past 3 years, my daughter would come home for the summer break and join under the "student summer rate". Only this time, instead of the student rate, they added her to my account and started charging me $40 a month for her being added. A lot more than the student summer rate. When I called asking for credit on the difference, they went out of their way explaining company policies with as to why they can't credit my account and why I have to come in to cancel her and wait 30 days for it to be on effect. Another words pay another month when my daughter has been long gone back to college. So, rather than losing one member, they ended up losing 3 members. All because of greed not to credit what they Over charged me. I called the manager Corey to at least let him know why he's losing 3 members but this guy won't even return my call. I asked for their corporate number, the girl who answered the phone put me on hold for 3 minutes then came back to tell me that I can only get the number through the manager, who by the way won't pick up the phone to call me back. Being the most expensive gym in the area you would expect better customer service... not here. Facility is nice, people that are running it SuCKS! And it starts with their Manager Corey.
Stay away from this gym. They have no care for their customer. ZERO customer centricity. I was lied to over and over again. Was told that I could cancel my 1 year contract by (Ben) and all I had to do was pay 3 months dues. I came in 6 months later to cancel and they told me that was a lie. On top of that they were not willing to work with me and said there is nothing we can do for you. I said whatever and that I would honor the contract. Then when finally came in to cancel and they guy said I won't owe another penny. I also changed my card on file and signed a form. Figure out I was charged again for another month and my card was never changed. I went to ask for that extra month to be refunded and they refused. I will never go to Life Time Fitness again.
It's a really nice gym. Their only every busy on Monday and Tuesdays when people are off of work but even then it's not that bad, still plenty of machines open and space. The front desk people are useless, every level entry question I asked was given with a dumbfounded look and a shrug. But that's my only grievancey.
Talking about pricing if your wanting to use all the extras they have at this gym the pool, rockwall, racket ball, etc. then I think its worth the price. I got a deal being a student and being under 26 (which I guess gives you a discount) and I only spend $55 month to month. People that don't think you have to pay a lil extra for all the gym offers is not realistic. To me that didn't seem bad considering I couldn't find a gym with everyting I wanted.
Wait for a special, hangle them down and they'll give you the price you want.
Good gym. Good price if you try. Good employees (besides the undertrained front desk staff.)
Been here since 2008, and wouldn't have it any way else. Regina does great with child care center. Have had 3 kids go through all of their programs. Elliot even trains my son in high school baseball.
I have been here over two years and over all I am happy here. The group yoga particularly is over crowded on the weekends and they allow late attendees throughout the class. This leaves for a less than peaceful yoga experience with people coming in a quarter the way through the class and the instructor asking you to move for them. There should be limitations in place for a safe number of students in the class as well as enforced punctuality to the start time which is set by the gym. As for increasing rates, I am excited about that! More affordable gyms don't have near the same level quality of staff, members, child care (we LOVE Regina!) or cleanliness.
Probably one of the nicest gyms I've ever been to. It's very spacious, clean, great equipment and offers a ton of things that most gym aren't able to. The staff is also always smiling and very friendly! Very happy to be apart of this gym :)
