To work out nice

Please stay away from this business if you are unsure about starting a personal trainer program. My experience has been frustrating enough, and I would advise others to be cautious.

My first issue is with both Ultra Body Fitness and Freedom Fitness. I signed up with Freedom Fitness on an evening and left immediately as I hadn't planned on exercising that day. A few moments later I receive a call from what I assumed by the conversation, Chris. Chris explains to me that he wasn't able to get to me and was wondering if I was wanting to set up an appointment to get to know the gym. He did not mention he was with UBF and frankly I didn't know they existed in Freedom Fitness. I do not know how they got my number as Freedom Fitness and UBF are separate businesses, but I am assuming FF gave my contact info to UBF.

Well, assuming I had some kind of appointment to learn about gym equipment I meet with Chris the next day. He was friendly and nice and showed me around the gym. He gave me a small workout to do and asked me how I liked things, I said great. I was then led into discussing personal training packages. He gave me very convincing story about other weight loss stories. I admit to being a bit excited. He then discussed to me price plans. That is when I became unsure, as I had signed up with Freedom Fitness because it is a cheaper gym for me, even though I have a gym closer to me but more costly. (I'm looking to save money, not spend) He tells me one month will be close to $280, but then tells me he"ll "talk with his manager to lower the cost" got it down to a little over $200 for the first month. Of course I'm still unsure and I let them know I will have to talk it over with my hubbie because our financial situation isn't too great.

Well, here comes my mistake, and their trickery. Chris lets me know I can cancel and get a full refund if I cancel within 3 days. I thought, hm, well it gives me the chance to try this out and if I don't like it I can get my money back. Noooooooooooooo sir.

I came in two days later to cancel, and I can already tell by the look on their face that I was in for something nasty. They let me know, sure no problem, but it may take a couple of weeks to get my refund. Well, whats a few weeks? I need my $236 back, I'm willing to wait.

This was back in January, and it is now March. I was issued a check 2-3 weeks ago, but immediately received a call from corporate that I apparently issued a charge back and that my check has been cancelled. So now my bank has charged me for a bounced check, and the numerous call backs and voicemails to corporate office and to Mr. Eric Toledo who called me have been unanswered. I never issued a chargeback, I have never in my entire life, nor do I know how. What a bunch of bologne!

Please save yourself the trouble and just stay away from this business. Your health is important, but surely it doesn't need to cost you this much time and money.
