I've been a member since before the renovation, and while at first glance, it's nice, when you begin to really take notice, it's very dirty. I've been a member of all kinds of gyms for over 35 years, and this is one of the dirtiest. The ladies locker room is no exception - beautiful lockers and counters and such, but dirty. The area roped off for personal training space has already been mentioned, and seems an excessively large portion of the gym, relative to it's use. It's empty almost every time I'm there - and you're not allowed in there if you aren't working with a trainer. If you're a woman lifting free weights or someone just starting out, be aware that there are no dumbbells in 8 pounds or 12 pounds, unless you're working with a trainer in the personal training area. You have to make a jump in 5 pound increments from one dumbbell to the next. That can be a big and unhealthy weight difference for some. Also the good variety of kettle bell choices are only in the personal training area. In the general training area there are only very heavy ones. I'm strong, and they're too heavy for my use. I've requested additional dumbbells in a smaller weight variety several times over the past year - nothing. Unless the members return weights to the racks, it seems no one else ever does - I often search over the gym looking for a particular weight that someone has left out, rather than re-rack. Seems the employees should periodically re-rack what is clearly left out in the wrong place - like the exercise class room!
