I have not taken a class at OrangeTheory, and never will because I've didn't even need a workout to already have a negative experience. I just moved to the city of Houston and decided to try OrangeTheory. My fiance and I are very fit and have done countless similar classes in our hometown. We arrived for our first class 22 minutes prior to the start time, but were told we were "too late" to join the class. We were instructed to arrive 30 minutes early to do paperwork and get started (EVERY boutique workout studio asks you to arrive early but is not clocking you minute by minute), but it was not clear that by being 22 minutes early, (EARLY!) we would not be allowed to participate. This is due to a corporate policy, but frankly, that is a ridiculous policy, and I refuse to patronize a company with such petty rules. Sorry that we are new to the city, slightly misestimated timing and couldn't see your studio at first from the side of the road, so we weren't exactly on time (EARLY). 22 minutes should be plenty of time to sign waivers, put on a heart rate monitor, meet some coach and be told about a workout format. Personnel was not rude, but I would not recommend OrangeTheory based on these policies. Luckily, Houston has many comparable options that will gladly welcome our business.
