I had messaged them about training with them while visiting Houston from Miami. As soon as I got there I felt welcomed by everyone and was really humbled by their hospitality. The gym is state of the art and very well kept and most importantly, the team is very skilled. The classes are long enough to learn a few techniques and roll a lot of times. Would definitely be back

Was visiting Houston for a few days and looking for a gym to drop in. I was able to drop in for a muay thai and BJJ class and they were both fantastic classes with great technical instruction and I sweated my butt off. The environment, head coach Chris and his team were all very welcoming!

I've been training Muay Thai at Midtown MMA for a while now. Coach Chris is a great teacher, and there's an incredible, supportive group of people who work to make it a comfortable and accessible place for people of any skill level.

This is my first time to Muay Thai, or any martial arts, and have been training here for just over a month. The gym and team are incredible. I felt welcomed from the very first class. I was initially nervous to start but everyone at the gym made me feel at ease. Even as a beginner, my fellow team members are alway gracious and more than happy to help with my technique and skill level. What impressed me was the professionalism and focus on technique and fundamentals. What keeps me going is Coach Chris and my fellow team mates, with the constant encouragement, pushing me to set and exceed goals, and of course a lot of laughter and always having fun!

For the past year I've been training Muay Thai at Midtown MMA. I have nothing but positive things to say about this gym and encourage anyone who's interested in training to swing by to test it out. All of the coaches are great teachers, very patient, and support you in reaching your individual goals, whether that's to get in shape (I've lost 30 pounds!) or to fight competitively. Every student is made to feel welcome, and the whole gym really feels like a family. There are no big egos here -- everyone is friendly and works together to improve as a team. Definitely check this gym out if you're in the area.

Joining BJJ is hands down the best self- improvement decision I have made in the last 5 years. If you can roll therapy, hardcore workout, and socializing with positive people into one, it would be this gym. Coach Martinez and Coach Farias and Prof. Joel are amazing, each in his own way. The upper belts are also extremely helpful and do not act like know-it-all's and are always eager to help and share info. Very happy to be part of this BJJ community, and wish I could have known about this years ago.

As far as getting an amazing workout and being part of a great community Midtown MMA is the best. I recently started doing Jiu Jitsu and the community and the coaching is incredible. Very friendly coaches and everyone here is willing to take the time to work with you as well as help you grow in your training. I couldn't speak higher of an experience and recommend this with no reservations.

I have known Coach Chris for several years and what he is doing for his team and the Martial Arts community is incredible! His passion for helping others reach their goals is second to none and his students are a reflection of his dedication. Midtown MMA is a legit Jiu-Jitsu academy with technical instructors with high character. Give them a try, you will love it!

Been training at Midtown MMA 3 to 4 days a week since late November of 2016. The classes are intense and will give you what you seek. After a few weeks there, you begin to feel like one big family. I look forward to many years to come...

I came in trying to take a look at the place. The main guy Chris Martinez seemed alright at first but asked me to sign some paper and wanted to photocopy my drivers license. I told him I was not comfortable with that and he went off on how he does not feel safe having someone like me around kids.

So I left his basement gym out the only entrance and exit the place has and saw the number code you need to input just for the bathrooms, which I promptly forgot when I went back to verify. 13** something. I just tried a bunch of times and the alarm starting blaring.

So apparently I'm the danger to this place, and not the other way around. Interesting projection I just experienced. Never going back and never recommending to anyone.
