I have been going to Bar Method Montrose for over a year at this point. I had previously done OrangeTheory, but found that Bar helped me build leg strength for my marathon training without the bulk that I found myself to start getting from OT. I try to attend at least four classes a week so I opted for the unlimited membership which has proven to be really flexible/beneficial. My body has become toned yet lean which was the end goal I was aiming for aesthetically. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to help correct postures and challenge you. I vary between an express class which is perfect and compact enough to squeeze between work day/weekend personal engagements, but also enjoy the advanced class when I can (really gets my cardio going equivalent to running a 5k). I travel often for work and have done drop-in classes at various fitness centers in the US and overseas that offered "barre", but it's not quite the same. Initial start of barre is daunting, but once I got into the groove of things, it's become a staple to my regime. Highly recommend.

The Bar Method is very challenging. It is a workout for your body AND mind. This is no ballet class. It has helped bring me relief from nerve pain and I am delighted that I took their free introductory class. Physical therapy is far more expensive than The Bar Method, so it will probably be a permanent part of my life even though I go to the gym. Maybe try it for yourself.

I love everything about this studio - the instructors, the space, the welcoming front desk! :) From my first class as a barre newbie, I felt supported and encouraged, despite being possibly the least flexible person on the planet (just being able to touch my toes is still a distant dream), and I left class feeling empowered and strong. I've definitely found THE workout for me, where every class feels both attainable and challenging. I love how every instructor has their own style and flair, but I can count on specific and safe corrections and modifications for my needs. I love hearing their corrections for others as well as myself, because I know that every correction is another step towards my best, strongest self and a reminder that we ALL have room to grow and learn. During my time at this studio, I attended class 5-6x per week at minimum from the start, and missed classes dearly when I was traveling. While I'm soon moving to Honolulu and am so sad to have parted ways with this studio, my very first thing I'll be doing when I arrive is signing up for The Bar Method in my new home. As someone who is fairly experienced with Barre (200+ classes) I had high expectations for The Bar Method. While the Montrose location is a beautiful studio, a place is only as good as the people in it.

When I walk into a group fitness class, I want to believe that there is something more meaningful to what I'm doing besides burning calories. It is important to find people who you can bond with, and it starts with the instructors. Sadly, the Bar Method style of instruction lacks a purposeful message because the instructors are trained to nitpick every mistake in the room instead of empowering people with a reason to try their best.

In a given 45 minute class, expect to hear an instructor call out names over the microphone for minor adjustments 50+ times per class. After hearing my name called out for the 5th time, I felt embarrassed and lost confidence in my workout. Mentally, I shut down and started going through the motions for the rest of class. The bright smile I carried into the room was wiped clear off my face.

I understand that teaching proper form and posture are important for practicing Barre safely, but enjoying the exercise is too. Bar Method delivers a great workout in a wonderful space, but their message lacks passion and a human touch. If slight changes in teaching style were emphasized to be more uplifting and less critical, this place would feel so much different. For now, I accept Bar Method for what it is, but I hope it will change and grow into something better.

I was in a rut of never working out because I cannot stand the gym. I decided to try Barre. So far it has been a great experience. I can feel so many different areas of my body working which was not the case with past work outs/activities. I feel I am also getting better flexibility and balance. The classes go by quickly and the staff is friendly. If I miss a week I feel deprived and actually miss it!

I love The Bar Method. I love that your form is monitored and corrected in the most polite and subtle way to prevent injury and increase effectiveness of each exercise we do. The instructors are ALL so kind and professional. The studio is beautiful, clean and well appointed. I feel better when I go. I sleep better when I go and hopefully I am better. :) It will not disappoint. The community of all who go is also the best.

Love this location the best! I have been to several other locations and the instructors here are motivating, knowledgable, and very friendly! One of the best workouts I've ever done.

My go to place for a great workout! All the teachers are fantastic and the routine keeps changing, so you never get bored. I never received compliments on my back muscles until i discovered bar method :) Thank you Rachel, Claudia, Kendall, Jennifer, Katherine, Amy, Kelsea, Alison and everyone else for being such awesome teachers and studio managers!

The best aspect of The Bar Method - Montrose in Houston, TX are the people. We all want to get better individually and the teachers and students cooperatively work together to enable each of us to achieve our goals. If you want to become healthier through fitness and strengthening yourself, come to the studio to learn from the dedicated teachers how to achieve being better each day.

Bar Method Houston is incredible. Staff is professional, skilled, and kind. The workout challenges my mind and stamina and leaves me feeling strong and toned. I 100% love Bar Method.

I love coming to The Bar Method. It never feels like a workout since it's dance based. For each muscle we strengthen with small weights or micro movements and then we stretch. I consider the stretches to be mini breaks and it gives me the ability and energy to keep going. All the instructors are fabulous and remember your name. They also are very in tune to your body mechanics thus keeping you safe from injury. I'm loving my new sleek figure and muscle tone. I highly recommend The Bar Method.

I attended my first class today. Woo! I worked muscles I didn't know I had. It was challenging, but not impossible. Katherine provided suggested modifications as needed to students. There was even a woman in the class in her third trimester! If you're looking for a great workout with friendly and knowledgeable instructors who make it a point to know everyone's name, this is the place for you!

I've been coming here for almost two years and I'm a full-blown addict! I always struggled finding whatever I liked best when it came to fitness and the Bar Method was a perfect match for me. The instructors are super helpful and patient. I've noticed that when I squeeze in as many as 4-6 workouts a week my waist is the most snatched and my legs have never looked stronger and leaner. It is really a community here and I'm forever grateful I made the choice to try it out when I did.

Anyone looking for an awesome workout, with instructors who really know their stuff - this class is for you. The instructors focus on technique and form, as well as making sure you are working up a sweat and getting the most out of class. I've been coming for just over two years and still thoroughly enjoy it. Do yourself a favor and try it out - you won't regret it!

The Bar Method has changed my life! I have been a member for over 5 years and it is *still* challenging with the varied class options and the suggested challenge options that are offered in each class. In the 45-60 minute classes that focus on 1 inch movements to make long and lean muscles, the instructors pay close attention to your form and make hands-on adjustments as needed (regardless of how long you've been coming :-)) while making it a safe exercise to practice. One of the other great things I look forward to is the positive and encouraging community--they are all truly strong & admirable. I just love BMHTX!

So glad I found this place! The classes are challenging, yet safe if you have a history of back/neck pain or injuries. The instructors are knowledgeable and the facility is immaculate. The app is really convenient to use to schedule classes, and ensure a spot. Highly recommend this work-out and location!

I have never been a huge fan of working out. I decided to take a Bar Method class on a whim one day when I had off of work, and have since kept it up 3-4 times a week for almost a month now. It's something I look forward to doing, and has become a staple in my schedule. The instructors are so welcoming and helpful and will consistently make sure you understand the exercises, and are performing them in a way that will give you the best results. I am so happy I've found a workout I find fun and that shows results. I look forward to being a "regular" here

The employees at The Bar Method are extremely kind and the studio is small but cute and clean! They all know you by name which makes you feel welcomed! The workouts are challenging but each teacher gives you hands on/verbal assistance during the class to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly and safely! A huge plus for me is that I have never felt like, "I didn't really like that instructor's method of teaching or their exercise routine." I can go to any class at any time because all of the instructors are consistent and know their stuff! I've had a great experience at The Bar Method!

I have been a member at Bar Method Houston for more than a year now, and it just keeps getting better! The community is incredible - everyone is supportive and encouraging and I'm always welcomed with a big smile. My favorite aspect is the Bar Method's focus on providing a safe, effective workout, offering modifications whenever I need it. I love the Bar Method!

I've been coming here for almost 5 years now and just realized that I haven't written a review yet! Anyway, this is the ONLY exercise routine that I have ever stuck with. My posture have improved significantly and have developed long, lean muscles that I've never been able to achieve before. Everyone is so friendly there and I've made many friends over the years. It's like my second family!

Transformational full body experience that has it all. Enhances strength, flexibility, stamina, improves posture, has significantly improved distance running times...all in an awesome community filled with great people and an incredible team of instructors! What's not to like ?

The workout is a full body sculpting and toning workout. They offer different class types ranging from 45-60 minutes and range from beginner to advanced levels. The instructors are Awsome and are always willing to help you and push yourself to go lower or hold a position longer! I would recommend this studio and workout to anybody who wants to see change in there body! I've been going for over 3 yrs and still find it challenging and my body is still changing for the better!
