As a girl with no gym floor experience whatsoever this place is slowly becoming a learning haven for me. The one session I had with Laura included with my membership was super helpful. I blatantly asked for help with the machines and exercises that scare the heck out of me and I got a thorough run down of what I was supposed to be doing. If I could afford them I would love to work with their personal trainers more. (They aren't crazy expensive, I'm just in the Teaching income category, haha)
The trainers who are there waiting for their appointments are always super sweet when I ask how the heck I'm supposed to adjust or use one of the machines. At FIT athletic I got no answer when I asked. They were too busy or refused unless I was a client. To me, these are important safety questions, not training questions (how to move a seat, what am I supposed to do with this lever, why is this cable here, etc.). I know I have to read, watch, and look up techniques, routines, and theories unless I'm willing to pay but this is just basic safety. So in other short words, The Gym staff cares about it's clients well being. Thank goodness.
As for the facilities themselves, the gym is clean and tidy. Most people there are willing to switch off on the equipment with you between sets and there is a walkway outside that you can use if you need more room. The equipment is NEVER broken. I don't know if it never breaks or if Wes just replaces/fixes it immediately, haha. On that point, the owner loves his gym. He is there every single day I am there. If you need help, you got it. The true point of these statements go back to the opening sentence. If you are a girl and don't think you know what your doing, want to get started, and have a fear of people thinking your not doing something right or openly judging your form this is the place for you. It's comfortable, it's safe, and the other gym goers are just neighborly friendly folk. Just do it!
