Great place. Just font like the contracts.
The female staff in the front have the worst customer service. They generally don't make eye contact, refuse to put customers before their cell-phone, when you try and sign in - they act annoyed, or just point to the scanner down the counter without saying a single word to you.
The guys that work there are always friendly, they stop what they're doing to greet you and scan you in. They tell you to have a good workout. You know...being friendly, having manners, customer service.
1 more incident from these worthless females and I'm cancelling myself and my wife.
Pay by cash or get signed up for a contract against your wishes. My son needed a gym for the summer months and and not once but three times in all, told them he didn't want or need a year long contract. He agreed to sign up for the summer months. The manager told him he was signing a gym disclaimer in case he got injured and a signature for emergency contacts. Once they have your electronic signature they can place it anywhere they want, e.g a contract. As far as my credit card info, I cancelled it so the highway robbery came to an end. The gym is ok but deceptive practices are not. You got me once but never again.
Anthony, the manager, was instrumental with ensuring that we were completely satisfied with our experience. His exceptional service, knowledge in supplemental products and background in competitive weightlifting is exactly why we choose this venue. The only caveat would be the commute but that's not their fault.
So as I read other people's comment I noticed a lot of them are having the same problems I'm having with this gym, my membership with LEAN FITNESS was transfered to this gym without my consent after they sold to Tru Fit, I've never signed any agreement with this company before, and had never ever visited this gym nor used their facilities before, yet somehow they're taking money out of my bank account, the one and only time I went into this gymnasium was of course, to cancel my "membership" and they wanted to charge me for next month's fee, which I thought it was pretty ridiculous since I never went in to get a membership with them to begin with, they've already taken enough money out of my account without me even going in to sign up for a membership or even using their facilities for that matter and now they want to charge me for next month's also? When I told them I never signed a contract/agreement with them and that my membership was transferred to them without my consent or without anybody even notifying me about the gym being sold, I was told that I had signed an agreement with Lean Fitness to have my membership transferred to the new company if they ever sold the gym, when I asked them to show me a copy of that agreement with my signature on it (and to please show me exactly what part of the agreement specified such thing) they couldn't even come up with a copy of my agreement to Lean Fitness, the funny thing is I see someone else complaining about the same exact thing and I see how the owner replies with: "When we bought the prior company, with it came all the current contracts" then he gives the gym's phone number, ask the person to give them a call and adds: "we'll go over the contract you originally signed" and signs his name. And I'm thinking: Really? Where's the copy of my contract? They didn't go over that contract with me, as a matter of fact, they didn't even have it on file, so it seems like they were just going by: "just tell people that when we bought the prior company all current contracts came with it, I'm sure they won't ask for a proof of it" And then to top it all off I changed my bank card and somehow they got the new card information and they're trying to tell me that the bank gave them my new card info, which I very much doubt, but somehow they're getting away with it, if this is legal, it sounds like legal fraud to me SMDH. By the way I gave it a star because I didn't think there was any other way to write a review if I didn't pick at least one star, otherwise I would've easily giving it a minus star.

DO NOT I REPEAT, DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ARE A NOOB. I had a membership to lean fitness, which I thought had closed down, considering I drove up to the place and it was closed. Got ANOTHER GYM MEMBERSHIP BECAUSE OF THIS FACT. These people bought them out I'm assuming since I just got the phone call like 4 months later saying I haven't payed them, they are in a trailer right now, not even a gym and Im like "say what!". When I said I would go on the internet and tell this little story, the girl said "go ahead" as if these reviews by customers mean absolutely nothing. I wouldn't be caught dead in this gym, knowing this is the attitude they take, and if you do go to this gym, I would say, I feel bad for you, 0 customer service, 100% scam, and when I say scam, they don't even hide this fact, they are scamming people in a way which may be legal to some extent, but absolutely unethical in everyway. They are trying to pull a fast one on people for profit. And this is a warning for those who don't know, and a little comfort for those who do. I'm new to the area a friend recommended this gym to me, and I absolutely love it. The ladies in the kids club are so sweet and great with my kids. Staff keeps the gym/equipment and restrooms/locker rooms very clean and smelling good! I always have great workouts . I can't wait for Ed Carey location to open since it'll be closer to me.
Not impressed. Took a few classes and the instructors acted as if they didn't want to be there. The child care room is boiling (as in no air conditioning) Also, turns out a free 3 day pass isn't free after all. I was billed a cancellation fee, the mgr Savannah was not exactly pleasant most person to deal with. Switched to Valley Baptist and could not be happier. There are better gyms out there people. This place need a serious overhall.

The reason I rate this gym with 4 stars is because of the extremely lack-luster women's-only gym area. It contained only machines, two benches and very few free-weights. There were only dumbbells but no barbells, so that made working out in there very limiting. The way women train has definitely changed and the majority are now interested in lifting heavy. I would love to see actual plates, heavier dumbbells, a squat rack, dead-lifting platform, bench press, and smith machine be included in the women's area because that is the kind of training I have noticed many women perform at Tru Fit. I guarantee it would be much appreciated by so many of us who like to train in that area.
Other than that, I have had zero issues with this gym in the 9 months that I have been a member.

This was completely false and they continue to try and charge my mom for the membership. Their customer service is horrible and they don't try to remedy the situation in any way. If I could give them less than a star I would. We have now found proof that they never had a membership at Lean and will try to fix this, lets hope they don't slap them with any other "fees".

Great clean gym. I've been a member for 2 months now. And So far so good! I love that they have a women's gym. I do wish it was bigger and had more weights and machines. But other than that awesome place. Totally recommend.
I just signed up about 2wks ago and have had a great experience so far. The customer service was pleasant and respectful. Theses reviews are misleading.

I had to update this review because I had stopped by in person to pay what they said I owed at Tru fit and I specifically told them I'll pay the amount I "owe" and the cancellation fee cause I don't want anything to do with that horrible place. I pay the amount and then a couple days later they charge me again even after I cancelled, payed the fee and had payed for the month. This gym is horrible I was having a decent day up until I was done with my workout and was about to leave home. I walk into the locker room to find a very muscular older gentleman completely naked showing all of his back end injecting something into his left buttock. that was a very traumatic experience and I will not be returning to this gym again I have already filed for cancellation of my membership. I do not recommend this gym, employees did not care about the situation and just said that it will not happen again.
A very nice clean gym but don't like that they make a big deal to cancel there membership card.

Now tru fit has been trying every month to with draw money out of my bank account.
I dont have a membership with tru fitness
So theres no reason to be trying to get money out of my bank account.
So I never attended this gym cause I heard it was no good. They bought out lean fitness and now they won't stop charging me for a membership I don't even have there. And when I called to ask to remove my card info they refused to. The worst thing and it's the third time this happens. Already at a better gym that never does things like this. If I could I would give. Negative 3 stars
Trufit sucks they keep stealing my girlfriends card information and taking money out of her account whenever they want and they said that the bank gave them the new account number which is illegal hope trufit is ready to get sued and if the bank had a part of it the same thing is coming for them!
Good clean gym but they will not let you out of the contract. They make it super difficult and will charge you a good 5 months later like they have done for me and not give you a refund. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE
Before signing up had one salesman lie to me so i asked for another one and he lied at the end when paying, i still bought the membership the gym is legit i love it.
It's a place that claims no gymtimidation - I have found the members, instructors and crew very nice and helpful. Yes, the sales people are pushy (it's their job) but if YOU ask questions and aren't afraid to say you aren't interested, you're okay. They have a women's room, which is great. I DO wish they had a steam room and maybe somewhere to swim. Try the spinning!
Do not come here. They do not consider that you moved to another city that's 5 hours away and expect you to make that drive and show proof that you moved. Customer service is far none. The up keep on the work out machines are not acceptable. Parking can be hard to fine on busy days. I do not recommend this place nor will I be a returning customer.
Worst gym I've ever been to. Force you into joining without explaining the contract correctly and then proceed to have hidden fees and other ways to take every cent you have. never join.

Pushy salesmen, old equipment, and even worse customer service. I was enrolled in a 12 month contract when I was told it would be monthly. I knew I would not be living here for a year and would never knowingly sign up for a 12 month contract. READ YOUR CONTRACT!! DON'T JUST SIGN THE ELECTRONIC PAD! I'm enlisting in the military and was told I could not get out of my contract and cancel my membership when I was leaving for bootcamp. I showed them the paperwork and they still told me I couldn't cancel. I was finally allowed to cancel but only after I put up quite a fight. There is a brand new planet fitness in town if you want an affordable gym. If you're looking for midrange in prices but a nice clean and quiet gym Valley Baptist Wellness Center is really nice! Don't waste your time and money here.
