Gym is ok. It can feel crowded at times . Gym lacks enough weight plates for the number of machines it has.

Trying to get in contact with someone to get a status on member cancellation is a pain. I just want to cancel and move on.

Good gym at a great price. Hard to beat $10/mo. It can get packed, but the free weights are generally kept tidy and people are friendly. Also, this location has kid drop-off which is awesome.

This fitness connection LOVES to scam people, many of them being high school students. Dallas and Austin locations are the only ones that require a letter for cancellation. There are so many reviews on how extremely difficult it is to cancel the membership. I have tried 3 separate times mailing, even went to the gym another time and even personally wrote a letter in front of the staff to make sure I have the right information, and also tried to pay extra for postage a separate time. 5 times I've tried to cancel over the past 3 years. I called and each time they charge me and it's either "oh we didn't get" or no notes on my accounts. Now I'm getting a collection fee that I wasn't aware I was being charged with. Not even that, the maintenance of the gym is done poorly. Please never go to this gym and read the reviews. If you are having problems please make sure you take pictures and screenshots. Maybe even record a phone call.

1. have to cancel by certified mail which takes 30 days to process (2 billing cycles)
2. annual fee $40
3. late payment penalty of $50
4. no communication of upcoming payment or billing statements

Was a member but they wouldn't let me cancel at gym. So called corporate and was told to send a letter with name, address, member no. and they'd cancel. I asked if it needed to be sent certified and she said "No". They continued to take out membership fees for months, only cancelling me once a negative review was posted. Joined Planet Fitness and like them better and their cancellation policy so much better!

Fitness Connection gyms are very spacious with a variety of machines to work out on. They provide a child care facility for parents who are in need. There is several different classes that you can take and on-site trainers if you're in need. For someone who is looking to feel better about themselves, without spending an exorbitant amount of money I would recommend this gym. Also the manager here is kinda cool.

What a joke. They have a 7 day guest pass but yoyou can't use it. They will force you to sign up instead giving you the chance to see if it's good for you. They're a scam.

Be very aware of you billing. Fitness connection took 23.oo plus 54.00 plus 45.00 for 2 months in a row. I'm still trying to get my money back. This action can could have caused bounced checks. I called and explained the situation and they were concerned about my next payment. Don't trust your debt card to this gym.

This gym is a joke! I was a member at Impact Fitness which closed and Fitness Connection bought their memberships. When I first called to cancel was told that I could do so over the phone since I no longer lived in the area. I found out the following month that was not the case as I was still being charged. When I called, I spoke to the manager Miranda and was told I had to come in and sign paperwork. After driving 30 miles out of my way to do so was told everything would be taken care of. This was the ONLY TIME I ever stepped foot in this gym. This was back in February and found out in May that they were still deducting my account. March would still be charged due to their 30 day notice requirement. I called back into the gym and spoke to Lisa in which I was told that Miranda no longer worked there and cancellation form was never sent to corporate. Was told that Lisa would do so and I would be reimbursed for April and May charges. After not being reimbursed a week later, I called back and spoke to Lisa in which she referred me to a 1800 number. I called that number and spoke to Priscilla. There I was told that form had still not been sent over but a note was made. She told me she would push through and that it would be 2 WEEKS before I should expect to see refund. Also said she would activate cancellation so they wouldn't further deduct my account. Today I look at my bank account and guess what!? Another charge for June! Call the 1800 number again and speak to Stephanie. Tell her of the situation and am once again told they haven't got the form, just a note on the account (surprise, surprise). Thankfully I had asked for a copy of this form back when I signed with Miranda in FEBRUARY!!!!! Stephanie asked that I email her and Melissa the form and they will have corrected. We will see if this works this time or if it's just another lie I've been fed!

Every time I have been back, there has always been a line of people waiting to use the racks or benches. I spend more time waiting than anything. Cancelling also seems to be a huge pain as you have to mail a certified letter to some place in Webster, TX, then pay for an extra month. I am stopping payment on my credit card statement.

Signing up is as easy as it takes. Just fill a form with your information and bank account information. Gym facilities and equipment are great for the price. However, the reason for 1-star rating are the annual maintenance fee beside the membership fee and the difficulty to cancel membership. You have to actually send in a written letter for cancellation. Plus it takes them 30 days to process. I believe they do this to discourage people from canceling their membership.

Worst customer service ever. My contract was sold to them when my gym closed down just a short distance from this location . Trainers are rude and not willing to help, kept getting dicferent answers as far as my contract was concerned .Wanted to end contract but it was cheaper to let the contract expire vs paying it out each month . Coprerate and managwment was no help at all

Terrible management, Wouldn't let me cancel my membership over the phone. Then keep charging my credit card. Called 3 different times and had to cancel my credit card and I still receive messages from them saying my membership is past due 3 months later.

Gym is great for the price offers quite a bit HOWEVER WHY DO I NEED TO SEND A LETTER TO CANCEL A MEMBERSHIP BUT YOU CAN TAKE MONEY INSTANTLY FROM MY ACCOUNT?! and while they process a letter they squeeze you for an extra month. If you're getting a membership for short period of time beware and cancel a month ahead to avoid this problem.

Their website says "no hidden fees", trust me there are plenty and when you want to cancel you have to do it by certified mail. DO NOT USE THE SAUNA IT SMELLS TERRIBLE. My suggestion, find a different gym.

The reason for the low score is mainly because of poor business practices regarding late fee all the way to how the kid club is ran. Also parking is an issue and not enough machines based on the population that comes. The only thing amazing about this gym is the wonderful instructors.

It's good for the price. However it does have some problems.

1. Most of the stationary bikes are missing straps for the feet, so you can't pull up on pedals. This has been the case for a long time. It doesn't seem there are plans to replace them.

2. A lot of the light handweights are straight-up missing, and have been for a long time. It doesn't seem there are plans to replace them.

3. When you first tour, you might be impressed by the amount of bench presses and squat racks they have. However, there are not nearly enough weights to put on the barbells. You will very often find yourself unable to use an open bench press, because the weights you need are in use by someone else. And this is coming from someone whose max bench is only 135 lbs. If you're much stronger than me, it'll probably be a nightmare to get enough weights, unless you come during low-business hours. In my opinion, they should invest in doubling the amount of round weights they have. It's kind of ridiculous to have so few for like 8 bench press set-ups. (Same goes for squat racks).

4. This one is more of an annoyance than a problem, but all of the clocks in the building are 3 minutes fast. I don't know why they do this. The conspiracy theorist in me wants to say it is so that the personal trainers don't have to give you the full time you pay for (if you arrive 3 minutes late, or they can call the session 3 minutes early).

Canceling is a pain.. this woman named "Ruth" didn't want to help me at all to solve my problem, she said that I couldn't cancel my membership, when is not true. The gym should really get some better and NICER employees. This is not the first thing I have heard about "Ruth".

Cancellation is a pain, make sure you understand the whole membership termination process and you are okay with it before becoming a member. You need to write and send a certified mail (not email, physical mail!) to them a month in advance!

Other than that I didn't have any problem. Staff are friendly, devices are vary, it's clean and they have enough shower and closets and it's the cheapest. I enjoyed running in their theater room.

SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES ABOUND. They bought my membership from another gym. My membership is $20/ month at my other gym. Most members here pay $10/ month. So I pay $20/ month to go to a gym that everyone else pays $10/ month for.

Secondly, lost my credit card and ordered a new one. While my old card was being reissued I was unable to my $20/ month. So they stiffed me with a $19.50 fee for that. I told management about it and the refused to see that not only was the $19.50 fee unfair, but that for the month of October 2017 I actually paid quadruple what the other members pay. I am willing to pay the extra fee just to get away from this horrible gym. A horrible gym that I did not even choose to go to.

Called to get information on the gym. I wanted to know how much the membership was and ALSO how much the extra Annual(yearly), that's right you get to pay monthly and yearly, would be. The sales guy was pushy on what my fiancees number was. I did not want to provide her number, I did however provide my own number as a number for them to call for both of us. The Sales guy did not like my answer and insisted multiple times that I provide for them Her number so they can tell me the Annual Fee. F**k that. You will not get our business.

Pro Tip: Asking once is fine. Asking twice is Okay as well. Any more than two is harassment.

This place has seriously pissed away my time and money! The equipment is great, price is great, showers are great, hours are great, but standard business practices are so below par a blind golfer would beat out Fitness Connection! First off, you have no way to view statements using the internet. They also send no payment statements via mail or email, so knowing how much you paid and when is a mystery unless you look at your credit card records directly.

Any new members should know that membership costs vary immensely! Sign up costs range from $5 to I've heard $50! Fees month to month are $10, but they sneak in a yearly fee under the radar of ~$36. They pressure you to sign contracts without reading them and feel just like sleazy car salesmen.

Cancellation policy is a joke! No ability to cancel at the physical location or through the internet, just expensive verified snail mail. Online services are available for every city except Dallas. Why Dallas is an exception is beyond the scope of my knowledge, but is probably just a way to further restrain you from contract freedom. Wouldn't wanna make business easy to the customer now would we?

When my identity was stolen, I had to cancel my credit card. Unknowingly to me, Fitness Connection was still leaching off it (I hadn't been there in months, I was busy, completely forgot about them). It took them, get this, 4 GODDAMN MONTHS TO TEXT ME THAT I WASN'T PAYING! UNACCEPTABLE! I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED A TEXT MESSAGE AFTER THE FIRST LATE PAYMENT! NO WAY TO CONTROL THIS! SAD! I had to shell out ~$90 of extra money on late fees (I believe the contract capped late fees at $40 so I feel they committed fraud. No breakdown of what this money was for) + $40 regular fees when I hadn't even set foot in the property! I didn't wanna give these crooks my new credit card number. They charge late fees if you pay in cash and you have to call corporate to authorize it. Canceled in a heartbeat after that! Just to slap my booty on the way out, they PUT ME ON A DEBTORS LIST, even after I had paid my fees! I had to piss away more time writing dispute letters. The debt collection service gave me more financial confidence than Fartness Connection!

This gym has sooooo much potential but is hampered by high employee turn around rates and stone age management practices. If your credit card is never stolen and you are never gonna cancel, this is a great gym. This gym also taught me a great life lesson to never deal with recurring charges: the economic parasites of Satan himself!

Friendly and helpful staff, great group exercise classes, big clean locker rooms, plenty of machines including free weights and resistance machines, and childcare all for such a good price. Worth checking out.
