This is a great academy. I have been going for 3 years and I grew strong due to this place. All the instructors are very nice and good.
My son has been attending HK TaeKwonDo for over 3 years and it's been amazing. The instructors are great with the kids and do an amazing job teaching discipline, exercises and having fun. It has helped my son experience how to lead, take responsibilities and learning to compete! Would recommend HK t TaeKwonDo to anyone!
Both my boys started coming here about 5 months back. I can say they have come a long way from not wanting to come even once a week to wanting to come at least 4 days a week. The instructors are all awesome and very dedicated to their art. They know how to playfully bring out the best from their students and encourage their strengths. A lot of stress is placed on discipline and being respectful.
This is one of the best Taekwondo school in the area! I am a black belt in Taekwondo and I carefully chose this school for my son. I am satisfied!

Great Taekwondo school! Our teenage daughter started classes a month ago and so far so good, her confidence in self-defense has increased which keeps her motivated to learn more! Master Kim and Mr. Charles are great teachers, they provide a supportive learning environment by being patient and assertive at the same time while instilling discipline and sportsmanship among the students.

Master Kim (Owner of HK Taekwondo in Cedar Park) balances discipline and firmness with warmth and encouragement. The classes integrate drills and exercises to develop student's agility, strength, flexibility, endurance and core muscles. The students who work hard, sleep and eat right, look healthier and in greater shape. They also have a tendency to improve their confidence, discipline, competitiveness, and focus.
When the student is more committed about TKD, expect a lot more than a regular TKD class. For example: seminars, tournaments, long training hours, poomsae classes, core workouts, boot camp style classes, etc. Master Kim is always looking for ways to get the best out of the students.
Master Kim is: Respectful, humble, kind, and personable. He's strict, but approachable and at times even fun (especially with the younger students). Master Kim is clearly passionate and genuine about what he does and this is reflected in the many quality hours he's investing in his students (Mon to Sat). Yes, HK TKD is ultimately a business, BUT you can easily see that his focus is to provide kids a unique experience and the best training possible. Master Kim understands the simple premise that by trying to build one of the best TKD teams in Austin, the business side will take care of itself.
Lastly, if you want your kid to work harder at getting a black belt (advancement may take a bit longer), if you are okay seeing your kid get pushed to be the best while receiving a few kicks here and there, then look no more. When kids and parents are committed there are higher chances to see a more focused, motivated, fit, resilient, though and disciplined student.

I can already see a huge difference in my son's ability to stay light on his feet and strike. I like that many of Master Kim's current and previous students are champions in the sport. That shows this place is the real deal.

We love HK! The summer program was educational and fun. The classes are structured and the instructors are very attentive. They keep it fun while maintaining professionalism at all times.
Our daughter has been attending HK Taekwondo for 3 years now and she loves it! Master Kim is awesome with the students...patience, kind, yet tough when he needs to be. Our daughter is learning discipline, self-control and respect. We have seen her grow so much and we know it is with the help of Master Kim. I have been looking to enroll my 10 year old daughter in Taekwondo for a while. She is very soft spoken and I wanted her to learn to be more assertive and self -confident. I had to find an instructor who is firm without being too intimidating or my daughter would lose interest very quickly. I finally enrolled her in the beginning of summer with HK Taekwondo and could not be more pleased. Master Kim has the ability to balance discipline and keeping the kids engaged. He finds the time to work with my daughter one-on one to fine-tune her forms in between classes or even after class. He checks in with her to hold her accountable for the commitment she had made to practice and do her stretches on a regular basis. It has only been a little over a month since my daughter started lessons, but I have already seen the positive effect the class has had on her attitude and self confidence. Most of all, she is having fun!
