Lowering my review to one star: despite multiple requests for better sanitation, management and instructors do not prioritize cleaning equipment, especially upstairs. If you are immuncompomised--or live with someone who is--best to stay away. Pros: good location, lots of parking and very ample overflow, offers most basic equipment/classes/training, staff very friendly. Costco pricing is a good value and they will allow renewals. Cons: poor maintenance of props like clocks, class equipment--stuff is routinely dirty, broken, missing. Staff will very nicely give you a million different reasons why something isn't fixed or replaced. And it just never gets resolved.
This is my second time getting a membership at 24hr. I only stopped going there, back in the day, because my fitness goals were lying elsewhere.
This time around I got a personal training session with Vijay. I just want to say that I enjoyed his level of competence and dedication to find best complex of exercises and stretches to accommodate person's individual muscle imbalances. If you're looking for a personal trainer, look no further.
I have been going to different gyms since I was in 7th grade. I have been to bad gyms and good gyms. But I have never been to a gym where the trainers and the staff are extremely helpful and caring the way they are at 24 Hour Fitness at the Hancock Center. Truly an amazing environment! A big shout out and thank you to trainers Jen T., Kelly G., and Austin G. for being helpful when I strain a muscle, need a new exercise, or can't figure out the best way to stretch. Y'all have truly raised the bar, thank you!!!
Phewww, this place smells so bad. Worst gym funk I've ever experienced. I actually ended up switching to a gym that's THIRTY minutes farther from my house, that's how intolerable the stench is :/
Gym has a good options of weights and machines. However, it is almost always PACKED. Gone here for four years. Staff is friendly, gym is always clean. They have a pool and basketball court. People frequently play games on the court, I've even been asked to join when they were a man short. Never experienced feeling judged or anything like that.
But the crowd. I never go after work, too busy. On weeknights I wait until 8pm or 9pm, otherwise I wouldn't get a parking spot. I often workout Friday nights to avoid the crowd. Ridiculous. They have sold way too many memberships and don't appear to care.
Poorly maintained gym with an overly loud sound system that apparently cannot be controlled in-house. Caters to young clients even though many of the clients are older like myself The only reason I give it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the (underpaid) staff is nice and Jenn Jackson is amazing. Plus, it's close.

The new manager, Scott, has taken back the gym the right way. Everyone feels more than welcome than ever. The previous managers are the reason I originally left in the first place a couple years ago (due to awful selected service towards customers). Scott, please remain here because your team, and you, have made a 100% difference in customer service and so much more! Thank you sincerely!

I visit this location daily after work. Located in a good place but always busy..need to wait for long time to grab an equipment..Few staff is friendly but not the **senior staff**. Low maintenance, Always out of paper towels to wipe machines and machines it self are defective(most of the time).
I love that they have a pool but I don't like that I can't bring a guest for free.
I have been a member at 24 Hour Fitness for 15 years. They keep the place clean and the equipment working well. The pool area with sauna, whirlpool and steam room is also in good shape. And the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend trying it out.

The fact that I waited 10 min to buy a energy drink, but left to go buy 1 at heb because no one would ring me up is ridiculous
Been a member here since 2003. I have no complaints.
The people working here are Amazing. It's a great, friendly environment.
Recently moved here to try out the gym. Previously a 24 hour fitness member. Staff was rude and not very helpful. Easily will be taking my business elsewhere.

This is a great gym for the price for gym normies (treadmills, machines, Pilates, other things that won't get you Gains).
If you're a Powerlifting Übermensch, this gym is still great if you work out anytime between 10pm - 10am. If you don't like those times, check the Google Maps Popular Times graph and don't go during peaks.
Downside is they only have 4 power racks that are full except for the above times, and TONS of machine weights barely anyone uses. Seriously, the footprint of the machines is 10x the power racks.
This gym would get 5 stars if they took stock of their machine weights, got rid of the 20% most unpopular ones, replaced those with more power racks, and addressed their shortage of 2.5 lb. plates.
This is a very nice location with pool and basketball court. It can get busy at peak times but so does every gym. When I travel to Austin this is the gym I use. 24 hour is very convenient when traveling around the state. It's nice to pull over and take a break
Machines are very old and it is not the biggest gym. But with that being said, I still was able to get a good workout in so it got the job done.
A regular o' gym; has every weight combination/barbell/dumbbell/rack that I'd need (even Olympic bump weights).
Average-to-busy amount of users.
The music they play was selected by a poll of 14-year old girls on Snapchat. It's awful.
They set the soundsystem to one of 3 settings:
(1) low murmur; kinda OK since you can pick out the beat, and you don't have to set your own earbuds to max to drown it out.
(2) Stupid loud. Your Adele/Rihanna/Beyonce concert dreams all came true! Snapchat!
(3) Stupid loud, but with really annoying commercials FOR 24 HOUR FITNESS offerings. I'M ALREADY IN YOUR GYM. THAT I PAY FOR. It's like being trapped inside a webpage with annoying popups that you can't mute, block or navigated away from.
(3a) Sometimes they do some sort of snap-sales or something. With repetitive interrupting announcements. I think. I can't understand anything they say over that soundsystem. Please just shut up. I'll give your $2 for that month old protein bar.
Honestly, I've actually been driving to this gym for a workout, realized that I forgot my earbuds, and turned back.
Not the best location. Hot tub didn't have bubbles sauna wasn't working steam room was turned up to insane level. Limited parking at peak hours. William Cannon better bet.
The basketball gym floors are extremely dirty and dangerous. Everytime I decided to go play the floors are too slick to play. Really afraid of getting injured on that court.
Yes it's packed after work. Yes it's small compared to some other locations, but honestly there isn't a lot of options in the area. Gold's is more geared towards meatheads so I have always chosen 24. This location has great staff. The trainers work hard and the kids club staff is amazing. I like this gym a lot because I come here to train. My kids stay in the club as long as I need because they are having fun so I get time to do what I need to do. Ignore the obvious folks who aren't there to do work writing reviews, nothing will satisfy those types of people.
Extremely dissatisfied with everything from beginning to end and it hasn't even been a month with 24 fitness. I have been billed not once not twice but three times in less than a month incorrectly. Upon touring this gym my bf and myself we offered a trail period for $10 each. Great right? Not so much, wasn't told it automatically signs you up after the 7 days. I go in to the gym let them know and they say I am in a 1 year contract! I thought ok that's fine I guess but come to find out after they told me its $35 plus taxes for myself monthly I wouldn't be billed until a month later and my boyfriends is actually month to month so they can cancel it and said they did! Well they didn't!! When not one but to representatives that work at the front desk confirmed they will only bill me for mine. As of Today I have been billed $213.37 and I first went in on 09/11/2017 not even a month! and I have paid over $200 for this smelly, crammed unprofessional and dishonest establishment to rip me off of my hard earned money. I called customer service and the women said there is no notes indicating the month to month membership was requested to be discontinued. I am so frustrated with 24 Fitness. I recently moved to Austin and wasn't expecting to have such a horrible and dishonest experience. I need someone in charge and honest to contact me asap to cancel all services and be reimbursed for all of my charges.
Great gym but because of people hours and germs we rent ours.
Constantly packed. Don't even try to get near the free weights. They are all taken. The staff is nice, but who the hell cares, when you have to park at HEB to go workout? Just not worth the price.
Disappointed with the direction this gym has gone recently (I've been a member for over 2 years). They took half the TV's and made them a consistent 24 Hour fitness commercial. Two corners of the facility are dedicated to special classes or training, none of the machines / equipment have been updated since I started going. Even though I went fairly regularly, the majority of the staff are less than friendly. There are few classes I actually enjoy, at times I'm actually available, and even then there may not be room for me. I could go on, but suffice it to say that raising my monthly payments (again) doesn't help their cause.
