I first came to Bert off of the recommendation of a friend because of some chronic pain I'd had for years in my neck and shoulders. I was (and continue to be) extremely impressed with his meticulous attention to detail as far as how I'm positioned when I do certain exercises and asking where I'm feeling engagement.
To give some perspective, I'm a mom in my early 40s that doesn't have a lot of strength. With Bert, I NEVER feel like I'm weak, like he's not taking me seriously, or like I can't do something he's asking me to do.
It's empowering honestly, because I know I've gotten stronger. And because he is so intently focused on studying how I do a particular exercise, he'll try different tricks that help me engage muscles that wouldn't otherwise "turn on". It's this level of effort on his part, that make me take it seriously and want to put in equal effort in return.
In December of 2017, I'll have been going for a year, and my neck and shoulder pain are long gone. I still have a lot of strength building to do, but I can honestly say for the first time, I'm motivated to keep it up. When it's just 30 minutes, it's fun and I'm seeing results - for me there really is no excuse. It's become a way of life at this point, and I can't recommend Bert and Efficient Exercise enough.
