I love this gym! I just canceled my Gold's Gym and joined this gym. I used to train here 5 years ago, but moved to another city. I'm back and I'm loving my experience here! I feel like I'm at a days spa when I'm not training, and I feel like a professional athlete when I am training.
Personal Trainer Frank J. is one of the best personal trainers I've encountered in 20 years of training. Hes a beast! If your looking for the best advice, training programs, and motivation, ask for Frank!

Preston in member services lacked the ability to read notes in tied to my account and I was charged 2 months without any authorization. When I called to see what was going on I was treated poorly and was denied the ability to talk with his supervisor by Preston. Preston also told me that "I don't know his number" referring to his supervisor. After a few weeks of trying to get a hold of the GM and speaking with several customer service reps I was finally refunded. Unfortunately, my conversation with Preston was a direct reflection of my terminating my membership with LTF. During or initial conversation, Preston indicated that he would cancel my membership come to find out after a few weeks of struggling to communicate with this company that didn't happen either.
Best gym by far. Awesome equipment. Beautiful facilities. Locker room provides everything you need, towels, shampoo, body wash, Q-Tips, mouthwash, lotion, blow dryers, everything.
Update 02/07/2020:
They again have tried to take more money and say I owe them even more. No matter how many times I reach out I don't get a reply or someone hangs up on me.
Not a pleasant experience. The sales manager at the location is extremely rude and unprofessional. Every interaction I've witnessed him have is hostile and lacks even basic customer service.
I was also lied to by the rep who came to my office to pitch us on a corporate account. If we attended a certain number of days then we would personally pay less. I was lied to what that number was, and how much it was to add family members in that meeting. The gentleman also told us that there were kickboxing and martial arts classes multiple times a day, at this location. We were also told that we could work out at any LifeTime around the country, that was our club level(Onyx) or below. All of those things have proven to be false though. Every single one of them.
I went into cancel membership after only a few months of having it, due to closing lies and overall not being a good fit. I was charged that next payment, as expected. I was then charged another payment, and not at our prorated cost. I went back in, again, and cancelled. LifeTime has continued to attempt to charge my account months later no matter what I do. I got another email today and called the number. They told me they don't have a cancellation policy on file. I said I've done it twice, and at this point the 'clerical error' is stealing. I asked to be transferred to someone who could help me get this resolved, was transferred...and hung up on.
This is an organization that will lie to get you in the door, make you feel like trash when you are in the club & will do shady things to keep trying to get cancelled members money in hopes they won't find out.
I've been a member for about 2 months now and for the moment I plan on continuing my membership. That being said, the club does lack in certain areas such as ensuring that members always have warm water in the showers and having access to towels at the pool and locker rooms (they often run out of clean towels). Also, all the construction/renovation during the peak summer season makes you wonder about the person in charge. Overall, the pools are nice and the facilities are okay but the club does fall short of expectations from time to time.
I love this gym! It is basically a country club with all the amenities you could ever desire. The fitness classes they offer are awesome and there are so many options. The only thing I would change would for it to be a little cheaper.

I've been a member at Lifetime for about 3 years now. I've had a few negative experiences there during that time. But overall I recommend the gym. I know it is pricey but for what they offer, I truly think it is worth it but you gotta use it!! Their group classes are all pretty good and there are so many options. I have done most of them and they employ instructors that are super high energy and kick your butt. The instructors make a big effort of being friendly and encouraging everyone. The child center is very large and fun, some areas are closed depending on the time and the number of children. At first my younger son, then a baby, would cry and they keep calling so I could not work out without getting interrupted. But eventually he has grown and he loves going now. Some of the negatives I would say is when the place is busiest the staff can't keep up with the cleanliness. There are towels piled up and the showers are not always clean. I try to go when it is not busy for this reason. I've never found it disgusting, but sometimes the showers really do need attention. My last complain, which is not as much of a complaint but a request I truly wish this Lifetime had tennis courts.

Very disappointed with the customer service offered at this location. This gym was recently "upgraded" from a Platinum gym to an Onyx gym despite zero upgraded amenities to the facility. The team at Lifetime has been very unprofessional when answering questions regarding the price increase and has given no explanations to its members - rather I was greeted by an individual at the front desk who stated "If you're not happy with the price you can cancel your membership."
Aside from the recent price increase, I have consistently experienced rude, unwelcoming staff. I would highly recommend you consider the Gold's Gym located 0.8 miles from the club instead.

Love Lifetime! The classes are awesome (I love yoga, barre, cycle) and the pool in summer and childcare are lifesavers. I've never had anything but wonderful experiences at this gym and feel its well worth the money
I read on your website that "Proper gym attire" is required and I feel that isn't an apt enough description. Would I be able to wear a costume that represents what I feel I truly am inside? Say, perhaps, a chicken costume. Or would you allow staff and other members to harass me for expressing myself?
Great trainers. Eric R. is really good. The only drawback is some of the equipment is not open. For example the climbing wall and one precor machine. Overall a great gym with a spa and place to protein up with food.
I've been a member at lifetime fitness south location for almost a year, and so far have been greatly disappointed with my experience. Upon beginning my membership, I felt borderline harassed to make an appointment for a free consult with their trainer. I nicely explained to the staff I was unable to make an appointment at that time due to my schedule, and had to continue to restate this 3 times before they finally let me leave without an appointment. On another occasion I came to the gym around 10 p.m where the doors where locked, no one was at the front, and a trash can blocking the door on the inside. Another member showed me a door bell to ring ( which was not reviewed with me during my tour ) we rang the door bell and waited at least 10-15 minutes. I remember because this particular member was deaf and had to keep asking me if the bell was ringing. Once inside, I could hear the door bell ringing constantly during my workout and over my headphones. This same night when leaving the gym an hour later, all the parking lot lights were out including the main light on top of lifetime fitness. Leaving me walking to my car in complete darkness by myself. Recently I scheduled a massage at their salon. The staff did not open on time, and when they were finally "ready", the staff was completely oblivious that I had an appointment. To make matters worse, two staff members began fighting in front of me. Last night when walking into the gym, there were 3 staff members standing around talking to each other at the front desk that failed to greet me, I ended up scanning myself in while they talked. Needless to say I never recommend this gym to anyone.
1 month ago My dear friend went to the gym as he needed to start his leg day routine. He was wearing a chicken suit to show awareness for chickens that have been locked in cages and sold for cheap prices at Walmart. He was kicked out as he was offending vegans who were working out there. This should not be accepted in this society as he did has a learning difficulty and does not look like the average person.
They kicked my brother out because he had autism and was wearing a chicken suit because he really liked it. They said it was to distracting yeah right we know you don't like people with disabilities.
My brother has a speech impediment and has a mild case of autism. He went into the gym that he over pays for (Which they used shady sales techniques on his simple mind) and tried to raise awareness for chicken legged top heavy leg day skipping Apes such as himself. He was then kicked out for wearing a chicken suit that I bought him from amazon which he waited 3 days for. I can't believe the rudeness!

I want to start off by saying I used to love this gym. As it was were I was able to get away from my rat of a roommate. But now I get made fun of and harassed by employees for coming from my respectable job (In workout/job clothes) at the cluckin bell. I will be taking my chicken legs somewhere else thank you.
I was squatting today my usual 700 lbs. When all of a sudden a Persian looking man was forced out of the gym because his attire was deemed inappropriate by some raging manager. This manager claimed the patrons attire was too revealing. This Persian looking man was working on his pencil thin calves. So thin in fact they looked like they could snap any time like a twig. This man would have benefited greatly from being able to use the equipment in this establishment. This man also appeared to have a speech impediment and was unable to explain his attire. The manager had a very confused and questioning face after the Persian man spoke. I would not go back or recommend this gym.
I met an ethnic man at this gym today, he was apparently kicked out of this establishment for wearing a yellow hat and yellow overalls, apparently the hat was covering his face and his identity, when in reality it wasn't... he even flipped the brim of the hat upwards so that his face was visible even from a birds eye view or more specifically security cameras. I've seen multiple Caucasians wearing baseball caps before, some even had the brim folded inwards to better protect their eyes from the lights but none were kicked out. It's 2018 and I still can't believe that racial profiling particularly from businesses towards their ethnic customers that pay just like everyone else is still a very common practice.

Wonderful gym, wonderful people, variety of machines, no lack of free weights. Free weights are always racked in the correct spot. Love this place. Too bad I live in Oklahoma and I can't visit everyday. :)
EXCELLENT PERFECTION and the one place on your gym options that must be instantly visited. No other place like this. Beyond words can explain. Just what you want in your workout sessions and more than you can expect is this gym.
Love this place. Has everything and some for a great price relative to most gyms. Sauna, steam, bball courts, climbing wall, squash, racquetball, indoor outdoor pool, etc.
This gym is great. I find it clean and family friendly.
Love this place. Been going for 10 years. The remodel brings a new energy.
One of the best gyms in Austin with great variety of equipment and two huge Sauna. The facility is always clean and the staff are friendly. Though pricy when compared to other gym's, you will know why once you start enjoying their facilities.
I concur with many of the reviews here.
The facilities are very nice - roomy gym with lots of equipment, numerous classes (though crowded), gym, wonderful locker rooms and a beautiful indoor and outdoor pool. The problem is and has always been the staff. They have a very "devil may care" attitude.
I use mainly the weight room and years ago, we approached membership staff to see if there was any flexibility or deals as they are so much higher than everyone else. If you have a family and use the other amenities it makes sense but not so much for us. They clearly didn't care to make any effort so we left and joined another perfectly adequate club without an outdoor pool or gym for a fraction of the price. No, the steam room doesn't smell as nice. Oh well.
But my wife likes the amenities so we joined again and put the whole family on. After three months the kids weren't using it so I called to take them off. Three times I was told someone would get back to me and no one ever did. So I emailed the two people who had been soliciting us to join, who then pointed me to the general manager, who then passed me off to the membership services manager, who then told me I had to come into the club to make the changes. By now two months have gone by. Geez, if anyone had mentioned that the first time (or second or third or fourth) I could have taken care of it then.
So we're cancelling our membership again. I can't get away with treating my clients this way. It's a nice club but I have a difficult time giving money to a company that treats people like this, especially when they're spending more than they would virtually any other place.
Was lied to by the sales rep and the customer service is sub-par at best.
I am still waiting for a class that was part of a promo when I signed up.
This place exists to try and make you feel cool and to get you to buy more classes.
I regret joining this club and would not recommend it to anyone ever.
Update: They are a bunch of men, stealing money from my wife and me after we just had a baby, we never used the service..
It's all about money and you don't care about customers, especially pregnant women.
Original post: As a local business owner I pride myself in my customer service capabilities. That's why I'm lucky enough to work with companies they do not act like Lifetime Fitness. My wife while pregnant worked out a deal with the management here, they have basically stiffed her with a huge bill and now won't respond to her calls. My wife is busy taking care of our son and has been too busy to come and deal with you in person. Now it has been nearly 5 days since the management staff has refused to contact my wife. I will give it 24hrs before I start contacting your Executive suite publicly on linkedin and calling management out by name.
You think you can ignore my wife and not return her call after 5 days? Without having me come in person to your office?

" I love Lifetime! The prices are decent for membership and the 1st week is free. The child care center rocks and my kids love their child fitness classes too!
The deals they offer year round are fantastic so I suggest getting on an email list and waiting for the right deal to come your way. The equipment is clean and the floor plan is well thought out. It's just so dang far from where I live in Steiner! Please open one closer!! Like at the Wal-mart center that just closed down on 620!!"
