Great gym to workout in while in town. Dumbbells up to 150 lb and things you don't see often in gyms anymore like 100 lb plates and a donkey calf machine. It's a small gym but I was there on a Sunday and were only a couple people inside.
If I could rate this franchise a ZERO I would! Horrible customer service and untrained staff. The front desk gives incorrect fee information at sign up, your account is entered incorrectly, your credit card is incorrectly over charged and you leave messages for the owner for 2 weeks and get NO response! Do not waste your time, energy or money on this place with its uncaring owner and inadequately trained staff.....there are plenty of other fantastic gyms in Amarillo to go to!

Open 24 hours does not mean 24 hours..call to make sure someone will be there.
The gym is clean and you can't ask for better hours. However, having a good workout has become almost untenable due to members who use workout benches as their own personal locker (water bottles, caps, keys, purses, etc.) while they use all the weight machines. This happens on both the co-ed side and the women's side. Many members also spend a great deal of time sitting on weight machines texting. This has gotten so bad we are exploring other gym options. There are signs all over for people to re-stack their weights and to wipe down the machines after use. Why can't there be signs something to the effect: "Please limit texting while using weight machines and please do not put personal belongings on benches/machines when you are not using them." Thank you to whomever reads this.

I liked the new time schedule. Gym seems more clean and organized than before. Overall, I am satisfied with the facility and stuff.

This location, the front desk person there every time I went was a young lady whose only concern was watching her tablet for whatever show she was watching. If I asked a question or wanted to know where the locker room was she would kind of point in the general direction with out taking her eyes off the screen she was watching.
I asked about the sweat towels that Blackburn hands out and I guess there you have to buy the towels. Which makes no sense that at one location you get them the other you have to buy them?

Be sure you want to go to this gym for the entire time you sign up otherwise they are going to charge you quite a bit if you cancel.
I was stuck in Amarillo for the day and utilized Gold's Gym membership from my home gym to work out here. Was surprised to see there are 2 Gold's in Amarillo. This one was closer. Turns out this is a franchise Gold's as opposed to a "corporate" one. I'm thinking the other one may be corporate, newer and have more equipment. But I can't and won't complain. Staff was very nice. I've gone into Gold's in other places and been told my membership is not really good at Gold's franchises. Here staff was very welcoming and just had me sign a guest book. Not as much equipment as I'm used to but plenty of good free weights, benches, and machines for my workout. They actually had more dumbbell sizes than my home gym in Dallas--i.e 2.5 pound increments in weights up to 50 vs. 5 pound increments.
This location of Gold's Gym has no pool or hot tub, but they do have a workout area for women only. The facilities are OK but nothing special.
I really enjoyed Gold's Gym while I was going. The classes are fun and the staff is helpful. HOWEVER, when it comes to paying for the membership, it is a mess. Because of their miscommunication I have somehow ended up with an outstanding balance and a ton of extra fees. I was never contacted by them by phone, voicemail, email, or physical mail. Today I received a call out of nowhere from ASF Payment Solutions. After trying to explain the situation on the phone with the girl for 30 minutes, nothing was resolved, and I am still left at fault for their miscommunication.
Also, there is no way to pay out an outstanding balance. I was informed today you can't cancel your contract until it is paid, meaning if you don't have money for the insane fees they tacked on, your account will just keep adding up. Very dissatisfied.
