Great spot! A church that insists on serving modern people!

We never miss the Nine Lessons and Carols service. The church walls bear strikingly beautiful murals.

I am profoundly disappointed in the staff as well as in the Director of the Mother´s Day Out program at Saint John´s Episcopal Church. We have two children there, and several of our friends have their kids at MDO as well, but we lost all trust in MDO and therefore we will take our children out of the program immediately. We feel they are not safe there, as teachers are not able to follow simple rules for important dietary restrictions - which have been pointed out on several occations both to the teachers as well as to Director Laura Daum!

Both of our children, 2 and 1 year old, were at the Mother's Day Out program. We told the staff from the very beginning that the kids are on a strict diet, for several reasons, one is due to health issues - the older one nearly had to undergo a heart surgery when she was born. Since then she is, among others, on a vegetarian and no sugar diet, and we wrote that both on the admission sheet and also told teachers that she can only eat what we provide - unless it is fruits and vegetables. On the very first day when the older one transitioned to the higher class, I found her eating a popsicle! I called out both the teachers, among them Stacey, and Laura Daum, Director of the MDO program. The latter was extremely apologetic, promised me it would never happen again and that she would have a stern talk with the teachers. I underlined anew also to her that the kids are not allowed to eat anything but what we provide, unless fruits and vegetables. She reassured me that she understood everything clearly and would take care of it. Yet the very next time we saw how Stacey fed our child pretzels! This is not only disappointing, but possibly health threatening. When clear dietary restrictions, pointed out on several occasions in written as well as in oral form, are not being followed, this can cause severe medical problems - in our child with the heart issue, but also in other children, who might have allergic reactions. This is absolutely unacceptable! The MDO program of Saint John´s Episcopal Church does not provide a safe environment for children.

The staff is pretty decent for the most part. I enjoy their free membership. I pay absolutely nothing. There are no free weight machines but for it to be free it has everything you need. The basketball court is open most days to the public except of course when a camp is going on for kids. Which is understandable. All in all it is good consideration if you don't have $ to spend for a gym membership. Limited amount of machines and obviously is small comparable to other gyms though.

Simply attend and enjoy! Keep in mind the recurring comment of many leaders in the Old and NewTestaments: "Here I Am". St. John's abounds with reverence, instruction, music and friendship. Its pastors and congregation are a welcome and wonderful surprise, always displaying, true to life, the passage in the King James Bible: "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
