The tan beds are spotless and the bulbs are perfect! I got a nice baseline tan and was well prepared for our beach trip to Costa Rica. Gold's Gym is a great facility.
Good staff and plenty of classes(yoga, Zuma, step etc.) available. Machinery well maintained and gym is clean. Been a member since they opened.
We love the gym. We try to wipe down equipment before and after use. Why don't the trainers wipe down the equipment after training a client. They set a bad example.

A decent gym for a low price. The sauna is a nice touch and the turf area is great for moving exercise. The locker room smells absolutely terrible. Now I know it's a locker room, but it is a strong stench of b.o. at all times.

Unfortunately on James Island you're more or less held hostage with your options of gyms. You'll find oftentimes equipment is broken for months at a time, several the treadmills are very loud because they have bad bearings which they don't fix.
Thankfully I moved to the other side of town so I have more options now but when I went to go and cancel it they told me that I have to give them 30 days notice so they are going to charge me an additional month. I understand in a situation where someone fills up a vacancy why you need to give notice like an apartment before gym membership they do not have a cap on how many members they have. This is purely a cash grab from people who are leaving.

A great fitness club/gym with all the strength, conditioning, and weight lifting equipment I could ask for. The staff are friendly and the equipment is clean and functional. The showers are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. I would recommend Gold's Gym to anyone researching into joining a gym!

Needs dumbells to 150 pounds or atleast 125 pounds. Also a reverse hyper machine. Some tried and true stuff, less gimmicks.
Snakes in the grass, beware of this dirty gym with clueless salesmen. They close at 10pm, makes a lotta sense?
Be sure to sign a cancellation form, they wont be able to help you if youre suddenly forced to move out of state. i cancelled so i thought, now im getting creditors calling me for a gym i havent been to in 3months. Sheisty money grabbers. Take up jogging this place is a waste of money.
i used to love this gym until there were a bunch of big boys that made fun of my flabs i am just trying my best
The equipment and floors are always very clean. It has everything you need except a pool.
I love this gym. I don't do classes but it seems to have a full array for those who do. The facilities are clean & well kept. I use the women's Nautilus machines. They are just what I expect & it's never crowded when I go in the mornings.

This is a great gym! Good equipment and always a friendly and nonjudgmental staff ready to help however they can.

Great Gym. I probably should go more, but all and all I am happy. Great selection of equipment, and classes. Towel service would be nice, I would even pay extra!
Okay place to work out. Clean environment and some pretty good equipment.
All I want is a gym to lift at. No classes or juice bar or anything. The classic Gold's section here isnt bad, but they came and told me about twenty minutes after I signed up that I can't have my gym bag. This means I have to have my clipboard, belt, phone, wallet, slingshot, water, straps, wrist wraps, and knee sleeves scattered out on the ground on me. That doesn't seem any better than having bags. Everyone has been super nice, but that one rule is a big deal for me.
Edit: a point was gained back for letting me use a mesh bag, but lost again for the awful wifi. It's only fast enough to stream Pandora about half the time.

She followed me and and would not leave my side until i went to the lobby. I felt embarrassed and singled out. I will end my contract with them tomorrow she was just too much my feelings were quite hurt.

Great gym, been working out here for years. The hours are kinda funky on the weekends though. I understand it's probably based that no one goes during those times, but still, I don't think much profit would be lost being open until 11 every day. Otherwise I never have issues with anything
