Basic gym, good price, friendly staff. Just make sure to get a receipt if you cancel your membership!

It's a nice gym with good equipment and amenities so long as you go outside of 4 - 7 PM. Can't really speak to cancellation costs, monthly fees etc. that many have brought up, but the only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is the showers.

I've been going to this PSC location for about 6 months now and can say that it's a good week if you've taken more than 2 showers with even lukewarm water. They've tried fixing it several times, but it still has not worked, so most of us who shower at this location must do so in cold water 3-4 days per week. Some may say that cold showers can burn fat and build character, but I'd just prefer to do that with the weights and other equipment PSC has to offer.

Fantastic staff and facilities. Have had great experiences working out here and it is my preferred PSC location.

I recently moved out of the city and cancelled my membership here but this PSC has the absolute best staff of any gym. Everyone is extremely helpful, the gym is huge, clean, machines are always available and the group classes are AWESOME. Managers Ed and Burr are both super helpful anytime I needed anything and I'm really sad to be leaving!!

Long story short, this place is a billing nightmare. Contracts are shady and will have you owing way more than you think you are signed up for. Corporate office is terrible.
In fairness, the local business manager (Edward) tried to be helpful but he was over ruled at a higher level so we lost nearly $1000 even after they admitted fault. Take your money elsewhere.

Gym is in need of a assertive manager. There is equipment that's in need of repair, and repair time long over due. Mirrors cracked and bathroom supplies not in stock. There isn't any cleaner on some weekends, so the locker room & bathroom is left dirty and clutted with towels. Have a good workout !

Update from my last review---(8/7/18). We reached out to Edward who kindly replied below but he doesn't actually answer these emails. Instead they sent us to a debt collector who is now sending me threatening letters. So if you enjoy that, by all means, use this gym.

Tried to cancel a membership and personal training. They say they have no record of the cancel. They have now billed us over $700 dollars for training even though we don't use the gym anymore. Now having to file a dispute with our credit card company to get them to stop billing. Big mess, save yourself the headache.

Tried to cancel a membership and personal training. They say they have no record of the cancel. They have now billed us over $700 dollars for training even though we don't use the gym anymore. Now having to file a dispute with our credit card company to get them to stop billing. Big mess, save yourself the headache.

AVOID THIS GYM if you care about being billed correctly. I've had issues throughout 2018 and have spoke with multiple managers (since they can't seem to keep one). Was charged usage fees for different locations I've never visited. My rate also increase for no reason. One manager promised a credit to my account. After he was fired, the regional manager (who's only accessible via email) promised to fix the issues as well. He never followed up. After multiple calls and emails, I was charged AGAIN for $150 of "overdue charges" that were supposed to be taken care of by the credit that was never issued.

Terrible gym. The locker rooms are filthy and the facilities are constantly broken for months at a time. I have not been able to cancel my membership despite several in-person requests, phone calls and e-mails to the sales manager. I was told that there was a $29.95 cancellation fee and that it would take 30-45 days to process so they can charge me for another billing cycle. I still have not received any confirmation that my cancellation is being processed or that they will stop billing my credit card. Stay away from this place.

Despite calling and visiting in person multiple times the fitness manger was no where to be found and everyone kept giving me the run around. Meanwhile, the company was still charging me for my personal training classes and when I called to chat with someone about the charges, I was told to solve my problem, I was required to speak to the same fitness manager who I could never get in contact with. If I could, I would give them the rating of zero.

One of the best gyms in Philadelphia. They recently installed what looks like grass in the middle of the gym, so you can do all sorts of extra workouts in this area that you couldn't do before. They never play annoying pop music over the speakers. Plus the staff is helpful but they respect your privacy while trying to exercise.

If they just rearranged some stuff it would make all the difference in the world. The ab area should be by the stretch area behind the ellipticals where there's empty space and turn what is the ab area now into a power rack and barbell area. More more more power racks. That's 1 star gone. The other star I took away is for the people who go here. Mostly young idiots who think they're cool and clueless older people who take up space. The enemies of most gyms.

Poor management and maintenance. Management is unresponsive to complaints. The sauna is falling apart, half the treadmills are broken in one way or another, half the ellipticals are broken, the push sled is broken, the water fountain in the men's restroom has been broken for a year. This gym is the WORST. Finally when things were obviously never going to be fixed, after years, I cancelled my membership and jee guess what? They're still charging me, double this month, on the card I reported stolen to stop them. How they managed to charge my stolen card is beyond me but I disputed the charge. Now I have to go through that s**t.

I would not suggest this place to anyone! I wanted to cancel my membership. I spoke to the Accounts person Burr on 1st December. She seemed to take down my details and promised to cancel my membership and that i would get an email regarding the cancellation from her Manager. I did not receive any such email till date. Since i am out of Philadelphia i tried calling at their office and whenever i call them, the staff takes down my contact and says their manager would return my call. But that never really happened. HONESTLY, i have never seen such dishonesty before! And what kind of a server or manager do they have that they are not able to process my request since the last 20 days!!! This is nothing but sheer dishonesty and a way to extract money unnecessarily!

Joined about a month ago. Great classes (I mainly go to cycling). Very nice instructors and staff. Haven't had any issues that I read on other reviews. If that changes, I'll make sure to update review.

Good location and reasonable price but the facilities are constantly out of order for extended periods of time. i.e. steam room, sauna, showers, etc. They also run out of clean towels frequently.

I have been attending since January 2017! I love this facility. It's very clean and has a large selection of equipment! The staff are VERY friendly, and I always have a wonderful workout. The trainers are EXCEPTIONAL, esp Vivian and David Ward! Come see for yourself!!! NO REGRETS!

This Gym is a SCAM... PLEASE STAY AWAY... I signed up for a membership for 30 dollars a month that lets you bring a friend every time that you go if you like ( even the same friend) which is an upgrade from your standard membership that is 20 dollars a month.. 2 months after I sign up , i bring a friend and they say oh, we no longer have that bring your friend option because the manager claims they where loosing money...I say cool, well since you guys no longer have the original offer that I purchased can I down grade to the 20 dollar fee. He's says no. If you want to down grade it would cost you 49 dollars... So in other words I have to pay for a service that you dont provide and if i want to down grade I will be charged... This is horrible business!!! DON'T COME HERE PLEASE!!

Tried to cancel as I moved from the area, and was informed by PSC's GM about a $29.95 cancellation fee. Since I kept a copy of the contract, I knew there was none in the contract I signed.

PSC's GM clearly could not produce a copy of a contract, then just makes up a complete lie that "use of the facility automatically means you consent to new terms of a contract." No sir, it does not. My credit card company agreed me with and has already reversed the charge.

This is the second insane, unethical billing issue I've had with them. The first was after a CC expired and they charged me a "late fee", rather than just updating the card like every other normal business that bills on a recurring basis does.

Initially I was happy with this gym, but I have no tolerance for the unethical billing practices. Will never join any Town Sports managed gyms ever again.
