This place is a total scam. I signed up for a “month to month” membership, even paid an extra $10/month for the month to month. Have to give a two months notice of cancellation meaning it’s really 3 plus their whole yearly fee even though I hate the place and I now consider my membership completely involuntary at this point and still can’t get them to grant me approval for my request to cancel… seriously afraid I’ll have to hire a lawyer to get out of this and to get them to stop charging me.
So this isn't Meaghan but her mother. Meaghan still goes to this gym and the people here are amazing. I had to cancel my membership and it honestly was a very hard decision for me to make. but my life just didn't allow for the time to make it to the gym. But I hope to be back and soon!!!! I love it here. I always felt accepted and never judged. I am 57 years old and never felt out of place. Noel was always there with encouragement and wisdom and Joel opened a whole new world of yoga to me. I will miss them all. Do not hesitate, even cancelling my membership was an easy process without any hassle. I hope to make it back,
Been a member at Urge for about 2 years now. Great customer service at the front desk right when you walk in, managers are very nice and willing to work with you to give you the best offer. Highly recommend this gym over any other in the area.
Must say, I love this place! My Husband and I joined several months ago and are so happy we did! Our 2 children LOVE the kids club. They have so many activities for the kids and the staff is so engaged. Locker rooms are kept incredibly clean. The classes are incredible and they have so many! I always have something different to try! If you love classes you will love Urge! My favorites are the classes on the big green field in the middle of the club that are with the trainers. My husband says they have the best variety of weights and equipment and I believe him because he has 4 gym membership in the area lol. He also likes that he can go anytime because they are open 24/7 (not sure why he needs that) lol. Overall this place is great and I would highly recommend this over all the other gyms we have belonged to in the area. Just signed my kids up for the Kids classes and the LOVE them!
The whole reason I left retro was because the music was too loud to listen to my own music or focus on my workout without causing myself hearing damage. I told Noel this when I first signed up and he was sympathetic. He told me that would not be a problem here at urge.
It is.
Idk what changed but now they keep the music at, what I consider, an absurd level. They claim they keep it loud to facilitate a 'high energy' environment. What they fail to realize is that by forcing one genre of music upon all of their members actually causes a low energy environment.
It's been scientifically proven that listening to music you enjoy increases your energy throughout your workout. The key factor being music YOU enjoy and by forcing one genre upon all their members they are ruining the environment in the gym.
The majority of their members bring headphones or ear buds to listen to THEIR OWN music. You could always increase the volume of your music but having to cause yourself literal hearing damage just to enjoy a workout is a bit ridiculous and I already have tinnitus.
Having a sufficient workout environment is key to running a successful gym and by blasting whatever genre of music they feel like playing at an absurd level they've ruined the gyms environment.
Now keep is mind I've been actively working out for 10+years at this point. I've been a member of pretty much every major gym and dozens of smaller gyms. This problem exists only at retro and urge. I currently belong to two other gyms and both understand that their members are bringing their own music. They keep the volume of the music in the gym at a background noise level.
I've tried asking them to lower the volume when literally everyone here has headphones on, they refuse.
I've asked to play a different genre of music, they refuse.
I ask them to turn the volume up, they happily oblige.
If you're willing to listen to whatever urge feels like blasting the gym is decent. Equipment wise they have most things though no hack squat machine, no barbell shoulder press, and seriously lacking of cable attachments.
Most of the staff is friendly, Debbie is great.
If anyone is part of Urge Fitness, beware when you go to cancel. The business end of this company needs some serious help. I had went to cancel my membership and was told they needed a 2 months notice. So you're forced to sign up for 2 additional months. So I pay-off the 2 months in advance, closing in on the last month I get charged another $39.99 for some type of yearly fee which I would be fine paying if I hadn't quit the gym already. Yes I'm technically a member, but the 2 additional months were involuntary and I was forced to sign up to complete the cancelation process. This place has done nothing but infuriate me.
I've been going to Urge since they first opened, and watched as they went through the process of learning what they needed to do to become an awesome gym.
The staff are very friendly, the coaches are very helpful and work closely with their clients, and they have all the equipment you would need to get a great workout.
They care about the members, and go to great lengths to ensure that everyone is taken care of.
If you are thinking about starting to go to a gym, or are looking to switch gyms, definitely give Urge a shot.

the gym look good and the workout machine are awesome but the business system they use is the worse I ever see in my life, even worse that pyramid scheme they make it as hard as possible to get ur mambership canceled ( first the say to call a number then the person in the number say that you have to send a email saying that you want to cancel ur membership then after I sent the email she told me that actually I have to call the gym if I want to cancel my membership then I called the gym and the person in the gym said that I had to go in person (but I CANNOT because I'm out town) then he said if I can't go in person I have to write a later.?? it's 2018 ugh ) I had the feeling they just try to get money without regard the client experience.I really felt like a was being take vantage :( the gym note 7. the business -7 *and as I write this review I still couldn't cancel my membership

Best gym ever...hands down! Anyone who has this place less than 4 stars are people who most likely are not happy with anything or are deadbeats.
Has all equipment ever needed, it's super clean, huge turf space, classes, childcare, kids classes, great trainers, rif raf is kept out and members are a higher caliber because it cost more than $10 per month.... seriously...crazy..cmon! place is sick!
Decided to look up Urge on BBB and turns out they have an overall rating of D-. That should tell you everything you need to know about this place.
There are 3 pieces to a successful gym.
1) good equipment
2) friendly, competent staff/ management
3) a good workout environment
Somehow urge fails at all 3. The only reason to go to urge is to see how NOT to run a gym. And, it's not like there is some magical force preventing urge from being a great gym, it's literally by choice through poor management. Just as easily as they ruined a nice place they could turn it around but they choose not to.
This gym is somehow even worse than retro or planet. It's bizarre to see such a poorly run gym. Have you ever wondered what a decent gym ruined by incompetence would be like? If so join urge. The staff is rude and incompetent. I've asked them to check a couple things and they tell me they're 'too busy' as they're literally standing there doing nothing. Then the woman says she can't because she's about to go on break. Everyone that works there is rude, the owners, the mangers, and the desk staff. They don't care about assisting you or helping you.
Management/ owners don't give a damn about their members, just locking them into contracts. Rather than listening to their members that would like to listen to their own music the gym decides to blast their own music so you're stuck hearing whatever obnoxious music they decide to play that day. It doesn't even matter if literally everyone here has headphones they won't turn it down. They have no problem turning the volume up, but insist on not lowering it. When confronted about their idiocy all they can say is 'it's a gym.' And they're right, it is a gym, which is why the majority of the members bring their own music.
so ive read reviews about this place and i have no clue what anyone is talking about they all say managment is bad and they dont care but when i went and signed up the other day the staff was so nice even this morning when i was in at 8am the staff was friendly, the kid matt answered all my questions i had about my account!
So ive been working out there for 3 days so far, the equipment is beyond what i expected, its clean well maintained and they have the 35lb plate that no other gym has! the music is ALWAYS on point. i read a review where a guy said the music is too loud? its a gym bro what do you expect quit being a cry baby! i love the volume of the music and whats playing! if i ever forget my headphones i can still get in the mood with the music! this place is better than any gym around! hands down

I had some miscommunication issues about my payments but after talking to Matthew he resolved it quickly and professionally. I suggest reading all small prints therefore no misunderstandings will occur. Facilities are nice and clean.

Music is starting to get closer towards an appropriate volume for a gym. If they keep it up they'll have one of the better gyms in the area
Great accommodations. Everything looks so new, fresh and clean. Friendly staff. Family oriented. Awesome atmosphere. I never felt comfortable in a gym before and here I do. Everyone is so helpful and kind. I've never been to such an amazing gym before. 5 stars!!!
Great workout facility, but customer service reps very DISHONEST up front.
Was told that I needed to pay $60 initiation fee and $30 Monthly
Not even one month after starting to go to the gym, they are charging me $40 monthly, $10 more then we agreed on. I called my bank and alerted them to hold payment until I can resolve. Since I stopped payment, Urge has charged me an additional $30. Also, with that being said they never gave or sent any user agreement and the rep that signed me up never told us about any additional charges or anything like that. Like I said at the beginning, workout facility is great, but being lied too just to get money doesn't justify a nice facility.
Im actually not a member but my daughter is enrolled in their youth classes. She has gotten so much self-confidence since starting the program. Now I cant get her to leave! I highly recommend parents check this out for themselves and expecially their kids. The trainers are so friendly and knowledgable
AAAAAAMAZING! LOVE URGE! Everyone that works here is outgoing and really nice. The gym and locker rooms are the cleanest I have ever been in. My kids love the kids club and the kids classes are awesome! They are open 24/7 but I do not really use that, but nice to have the option. I take more of the classes and the instructors here are fabulous! They offer really cool classes, like aerial yoga, boxing, and classes on the turf with tires and ropes (my fav) definitely recommend this place!
By far the best gym in the area. Really clean and staff is awesome! Only club around with such a huge open turf training area. My kids love the childcare, they have so many toys and kids classes that they love! My wife takes all the classes and says they are the best she has ever taken. Never had such a great experience before at any of the other low budge clubs in the area. They even gave my kids a free smoothie when we joined which was cool! So glad we switched! I would recommend this place to all my family and friends!

If you are looking for a clean, classy, and knowledgeable gym ...this is the place to be! It is never crowded either. I was a member of LA fitness for years and did not learn anything because I was too intimidated to speak with the staff, or ask for help. They are NOT like that here. All of the trainers/ employees are approachable and helpful. I am finally seeing results thanks to URGE.

If you are looking for a gym that will give you a constant headache, this is the place for you! When joining a gym, you are not supposed to be committing to it like you are a mortgage. However, with this gym, they use a third party payment solutions company that allows them to hide behind each payment mistake that is made. Student freezes? 3 months at a time, but for most students, a semester lasts roughly 5 months, give or take. this means, you will be paying for months you do not even use. Relocating for work? They will make it nearly impossible to cancel and still try to charge you even if you are hundreds of miles away. the gym itself isn't bad as it is never packed, but it has no competitive advantage in comparison to any other gym that is open 24 hours. In conclusion, if you essentially want to marry a gym and deal with divorce when you want to cancel, Urge fitness is the place for you!
Joined recently and was hesitant at first do to some bad experiences at other clubs. Well, I could not be happier! The club is the cleanest I have ever seen. The staff is so friendly and outgoing and they always greet me with a smile and a towel! I joined for the classes bc they have the most out of all the clubs in the area and are so different from what i'm used to! The instructors really know their stuff and take the time to make sure we are all getting attention. I love their Aerial classes and boxing. Would definitely recommend this place.
Friendly environment and very welcoming staff. The place is new and very clean, organized, and awesome. It is a great deal for the price and you get more than what you pay for. All equipments are come from great Brand names such as life fitness, and hammer strength and are up to date. They have variety of classes, spin room, and boxing room. It's been two weeks since I joined and I like the place. I definitely recommend this place, and don't regret joining them. Keep it up URGE.
Love the gym. Lots of awesome equipment and they are continually adding new things. Seth is a great personal trainer. His classes are great. He has the patience of a saint and will make sure you're doing the exercises with proper form.
The only negative I can say is the bathrooms need to be cleaned more frequent and thoroughly. Trash cans are overflowing at times in the bathroom stalls and the showers sometimes have hair in the drains/on the walls.
