Nobody Blake

I've moved quite a ways away (by bus) since I first joined, but I love that the SE Stark St club is smaller and seems to cater more to an older demographic. Like any such place; flipflops are a must, but they keep it all quite clean without it reeking of bleach and other such chemicals. I only wish they were open later all week. Even if it was only the pool facilities (and locker rooms) that were available until midnight every day; that would be absolutely perfect! I'm sad that when my contract is up very soon I'll probably switch to another club which has those facilities available during later hours. If it even exists; I doubt it'll be as affordable and clean (and saltwater!). The class instructors and senior staff that I've met have been quite nice, knowledgeable and helpful. Also, the general staff is great; it's mostly been sweet kids who (understandably) want to leave work at a reasonable time. I recommend this gym to anyone who is looking for a place that is a good, honest and consistent price, that's clean, has all of the necessary amenities and some extras, and it's great if you're just wanting to workout or do PT without the typical uncomfortable gym atmosphere of being rushed, judged and hit on. I've had a few memberships to other gyms and it was always a huge waste to be locked into contracts to places where I had continual problems just because I was slow with doing my laps, learning the class routines or learning how to use the various machines...or because I chatted back with other members I'd thought were just being normally friendly, but really they were there to find hookups or whatever. For those reasons; an already difficult task became impossible so I was stuck paying a monthly fee to a place I could only go to if I could ever convince someone I knew to go with me on some rare occasion when we both had the free time and energy- if the gym would even allow guest passes! This one does btw;D... just $8, no questions, no sales pitch, no nonsense. They have a perks/points thing too, but I haven't made use of it yet. I guess if my review convinces you to join them, it couldn't hurt to let them know...I'll share the wealth somehow:)
