What a gem to have this community in Portland! A must go for all pregnant women! Classes address making space for baby, both physically and emotionally. I like the small and personal feeling classes, catered specifically to the needs of a pregnant woman. Offer the most prenatal yoga classes per week in the area.
This place was the best thing imaginable during my pregnancy. The classes were offered free when I was going, but I still have fond memories and wish this was closer to me now that I am expecting my second child.
I have gone to mamaspace for prenatal yoga and the community cranial sacral treatment. Cheryl, the founder of mamaspace and the teacher there, is someone that I think all pregnant women and new moms would appreciate and benefit from knowing. She has experience as a midwife, body worker, yoga teacher, and CST therapist. She combines knowledge from each of those fields to design her class and treatment to help mom get ready for birth, recover from birth, and help babies have a strong and balanced muscle and bone structure from birth. And she offers the yoga classes and community CST sessiosn for free!
I would not have been aware of the importance of baby positioning for the birthing experience and how to prepare my body for an easier birth if it were not for Cheryl's class. I went to her class based on a friend's recommendation, and now I would highly recommend her to others whole heatedly.
