They continued charging me several months after I had cancelled. Staff passed the buck to a customer (dis)service hotline. There are so many negative reviews here for a reason.

Love this gym! The staff is ALWAYS friendly. They greet you every time you come and go. They are authentically nice...not forced because it's their job. "A" is my fave! Every gym needs one of him! Anything you need...they do their best to accomadate you. Equipment is always clean and functional. Atmosphere is easy breezy. Other gym-goers are also nice and friendly & a good mix of age ranges. Locker rooms are always clean. Plenty of space and not packed in like sardines. My favorite gym in Norman so far. I only wish they were open 24 hours. Never had a bad experience here.

Love this gym. Love the pool and steam and sauna when the sauna is working lol. Staff of very friendly and the gym has many places to work out in. You aren't cramped into just one area. My favorite instructor is Kazumi she brings an awesome outgoing fun experience to the classes! I specifically sign up for hers. Great energy!! The manager Rob is very understanding and works with you if you have an issue. He is very professional and listens.

The change in management has improved a number of points we would consider important. Will has worked on items that should be addressed.

This gym is probably the worst gym I have ever been a member of. The manager is so kind and really the only good thing about this place. Otherwise the place is disgustingly dirty, especially the kids area. My daughter would come out of the kids club with black streaks down her clothes and hands. The trainer is an a** who really only wants to talk about himself. He cuts you off mid sentence, doesn't listen to what your goals are and takes far longer to do tasks than necessary. A few visits in, I decided to cancel my membership I called and expressed my desire to cancel, acknowledging that I would have to pay the remainder of my contract (which I paid in full at that time). They continued to charge me every month despite me calling and demanding a refund for the money they were stealing from me. They sent "my debt" to a collections agency and I am still trying to untangle this mess. Save your money, go somewhere else. 10Gym and fitnessone are great alternatives to this mess of a gym.

This gym has fine facilities but don't sign up for a membership! I canceled my membership at the end of December because I was moving out of state. They continued to charge me for 5 months despite me repeatedly contacting them. I had to dispute the charges with my bank and get a new card to get the money refunded. Technically they still keep trying to charge my card and keep sending automated calls that my membership (that I canceled 7 months ago) is in jeopardy and they can't charge my card. I have repeatedly spoken with staff and the manager. They assured me that everything was canceled and I would no longer receive calls but I still do multiple times a month. Find another gym that doesn't continue to charge you after you cancel the membership. This place is not worth the months of hassle.

This Gym has changed a lot since the first time a joined years ago. They still have very clean facilities and stellar staff. I don't know how busy they can get but during my workout times in the early morning or during lunch, there are not a lot of people there so it is easy to get the equipment or machines you need for your routines. They have a cinema room that contains several cardio machines such as bikes, treadmills, and elliptical machines. This is probably one of my favorite parts of the gym. I've not used it but they also provide a childcare service for certain parts of the day. It seems very clean and they have a lot of different activities for the kids. I've not seen or spoken to any of the staff in that area so I cannot vouch for them. Although I prefer to workout alone, they do offer several different classes and bootcamps you can attend and offer professional coaching for an additional cost.
I will say that I don't see the benefits of the second or higher tier memberships. They sell you on their Golds Amp app as part of the higher memberships but you can actually download and use the app without a Golds membership at all. The only other advantage is the monthly follow ups with the trainer on site who will test you monthly and provide a 3D digital body scan so that you can really see how you are progressing. If this is something that you are interested in, then the extra $10+/mo may be worth it to you. Overall, I enjoy this location and the atmosphere in it.

Never seems to be crowded which is nice. Not the most machines or weights, but more than enough to get a good workout in. An unusual amount of people lift in blue jeans here which is odd.

WITH UPDATE:
For the size of the gym they have alot to offer! The people who work there are friendly. People who work out there have respect for one another as far as I can tell, for I have only just moved here. But that is a good quality to have, a great gym culture! The only thing I would like to see is added is a stretching bench. The ones where you sit down and grab the bars in front of you and lean back in various positions in order to stretch different types of muscles.

UPDATE:
The machine that I referred too in using to stretch the muscles and how this Gold's did not have one... Well they do now! Funny thing is,I spoke, to whom I believe to be the general manager, one day about the gym. I said, "this place is great".... and began to list the many upsides to this facility. The only downside comment I had was that for people like me who have shoulder damage and low range of flexibility, a machine such as this would be an absolute plus. A month or two later... They have one. Now if I had a role in that or not, I do not know, but the point is... I feel as if the staff really listened to me!

Great local gym. Clean. Well equipped. Good childcare. Staff is responsive but they don't hover. Free wi-fi.

So called General Manager (GM), Kaylee Stephenson, who runs this gym, is probably the worst ever. Her lack of customer base skills is in need of a major overhaul to say the least. More so the concept of the flyers that are posted around the gym, representing a franchise, lack not only grammar but spelling corrections. I have watched this GM berate her personal trainers on a regular basis along with other staff members. The gym randomly fails to open at its normal scheduled time at 5am with no back up. If your in a rush then you better hope it opens on time. This recently happened, but instead of fixing it she ended up firing the individual. This gym also has a high turnover rate with its personal trainers as well. Plus side is that their is one trainer that is good to go but the GM promotes this trainer as the main focus of the gym. Nothing else matters, not to mention there is another trainer who has apparently trained Navy Seals. To each their own. When I first signed up through the Gold's website as a Veteran/ Military personnel. Once I was done and paid it told me to go to the gym to finish up my membership. None the less I had to make two separate trips because their system is so old that it doesn't communicate with the actual franchise system. Also most of the time is that the gym is dirty. Bathrooms are horrendous and nasty. I have asked for the District Manager information on two separate occasions from employees and was told that, "I needed to address the issues with the General Manager." First, I don't work for the gym. Secondly, I'm not an employee who's attempting to mentor someone that is lacking in multiple areas. I have been refused the DM information. My all time favorite is when the GM calls me on my cell, hearing that there has been problems reported her response and calls people while they are on vacation/honeymoon. The management of this gym is atrocious at best. Trainers are great but most revolve out so quickly because they can't stand it there so they either go to another Gold's gym or quit. Go to the Moore, OK gym!!!!!!!!!!

October 25, 2017 16:29

Be very, very careful when joining. The staff is not forth coming of the true amount that you will be charged. They are not truthful about due dates of when your funds will be taken out of your account. I called to get information about fees & trainer, no response was made back to me. I then went to the location and tried to get information and was brushed off and was mot given the opportunity to ask questions. My one day visit to thus gym cost me $105.00 for my visit. I was told, "Thank you, gave a nice day." The person walked away from the front desk. I closed out my account through my bank immediately after. I am so very disappointed with thus staff. Other friends told me to stay away but I liked the convince of location. Lesson learned big time.

The thing that makes this gym awesome is the community. Very friendly employees and members.

I've lifted at several gyms over the years and this gym has an awesome caring staff. The facility is always clean. The child care at this location in particular is the best I've seen. We have a special needs child and he loves coming to the gym because of how sweet they are to him. I will be a golds gym member for a long time with service like this.
