I started gymnastics last year at Sokol Ceska Sin in the men's class. This gym is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and the community at the gym is tight-knit but also incredibly welcoming to newcomers like me. I learned a great deal in my first year and competed at the national Sokol USA competition this past June. This is truly a gym for everyone - they have classes for tots, little girls, junior girls, and women, but more importantly for me they have classes for junior boys and men (these were not easy for me to find!). They are also able to train gymnasts with experience as well as those (like me) who have never tried this stuff before. The prices were right up my alley as well (about 8 or 9 bucks per class, once a week) because I was not prepared to pay several hundred dollars on something I didn't even know if I liked yet. The building is old (a Cleveland historical landmark, I think) but the equipment is in relatively new and plenty adequate. Like most of the people who are involved with the gym, I think I am here to stay.
