Not my favorite Y. You have to give up a personal item to get a locker key. The weight room is decent and they have an indoor track. I noticed a couple of the racks could use some work or updating but other than that it is decent.
wonderful staff, very helpful and engaging. I am glad I join this site.
Fix the darn sauna! Charging over $50 a month and sauna perpetually broken.
Friendly clean place with good equipment and good classes! Definitely recommend!
Y staff needs to enforce the rules regarding underage children in the women's locker room. I visited between 5:30 and 7:00 on a Wednesday evening, usually a busy time for after work traffic. I encountered 2 preschool age boys in the locker room waiting for adults who were either showering or dressing to go.
If women don't have the good sense to protect their own children from viewing naked strangers, then someone shoulld remind them that other women sharing the locker room may not want to disrobe in front of underage boys. There's a Y Playhouse upstairs that provides supervised childcare on-site. Staff should see that patrons use it. Why make everyone else uncomfortable?
BEST YMCA I have ever seen and used !! Highly recommend !! Very large facility with tons of services and the cost is very reasonable. I have lived in Iowa, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina and the Durham downtown YMCA blows away all of the YMCAs I have seen and used. None of them remotely even come close to this fantastic Y.

I love my YMCA. Everyone there feels like family. I love the trainers that are in the weight room. The class trainers remember my name and my needs. I love the variety than I can have in my workout And just the all around atmosphere

Children are allowed to wonder in and out of the ladies locker room at will. The age limit is 14. I've witness a boy about the age of 12 with his mother and sisters in the ladies locker room. Children under the age of 14 and cell phone use in the locker room should be rules that staff enforce.
I'm Still New to the Area...2yrs new. I was greeted with pleasant staff when I signed up.
I was giving a great tour.
Nothing is perfect I went end with a open mind and things have been great I go there with both my boys 17 & 6 the have something for both to do. It's a great outlet for my family. Different people from all walks of life come to the YMCA with I love....but we also have to remember that we are all the same just may live a lol different. ...but as far as the YMCA definitely a great place to go....
The rudeness is absolutely true by the housekeeping staff as well. Should I say just one member of that staff. She was rude and kept watching every little thing I did. She was doing the same thing to other members. She was older and she acted like a stalker. The swim team staff were very friendly and accommodating and the staff working the counter to hand out keys and towels are very nice but the rest of the staff has a lot of work to do to improve their customer service. If I'm a paying member of the YMCA, I should not be receiving that kind of treatment. I let me membership go but want to return only if the customer service has improved.
Parking lot can get full many times but they have a nice parking garage across the Y although it costs money. This Y is a great place to work out though and usually very friendly staff and a great walking track and fitness center. Locker rooms are also great. 4 stars instead of 5 due to limited parking.
Took my first swim lesson yesterday at the Morgan Street Y and was pleased with the service I received. Jordan and Christian are both excellent instructors and the staff were all helpful and friendly. I'm so glad I signed up with the Y.
