I came to Mind Body Centering Yoga Teacher Training several years ago knowing that I needed change, but not knowing exactly what that change might look like. Having taken classes with Nina and Bart I knew, however, that these were the people I wanted to be influenced by. Their gentle and deeply compassionate ways simply permeated the classes that they taught, the ways in which they engaged with others, and the very spaces they occupied. I had had some trauma in my life and I knew that MBCYTT was where I could seek and find healing. Additionally, I had been teaching yoga for a few yearsand also knew that what I could learn from Bart and Nina would have a dramatic influence on how I imparted yoga teachings and the yogic way of life to my students. l
I was right on all counts. The MBCYTT offers a structured, yet fluid, syllabus that challenges the student to explore deeply and arrive at honest, open and generous ways of sharing with others. One is given the opportunity to both learn from the great yogic tradition and to question how these ways can have meaning in her or his own life. The very processes employed in this exploration were what allowed me to learn, to heal and to create new approaches to how I interact in the world.
I recently experienced and extremely challenging and painful health crisis and can say, without reservation, that what I learned through MBCYTT gave me much of the strength, the hope and the determination to weather the difficult storm. But even for those not necessarily in need of significant healing or ways to face crises, this training will absolutely change your life in ways that you cannot imagine. I encourage everyone who has the opportunity to join the sangha...I promise that you will be vastly rewarded.
