I honestly enjoyed my experience here. It was calming and clean. Everyone was patient and catering. Wonderful experience. I have no complaints

I'm confused by some of the reviews. I didn't have any problems booking appointments, staff was never rude, or unprofessional to me. I left a message on their voicemail to schedule my appointment, and I received a call back within 48 hours. I never witnessed any of the staff being rude to any customers. I have only experienced professionalism with great attitudes.

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. This place has changed it's name to create confusion. It is now called "DURHAM WELLNESS SPA". Maybe Durham Hellness Spa would be more fitting. They are a joke. They sell Groupons and one cannot make an appt. There is no receptionist to take calls and the only way to make an appt is by talking to a receptionist. They say they will get back with you within 48 hours I have never received a call back because I cannot leave a message on a machine that has been full for over 2 months. I drove there to make an appt and at 5pm it was closed. I left a note to please call me. Never acknowledged. Groupon tells me my Groupon was redeemed... it would have been hard to redeem it when I was in Colorado at the time. What a bunch of shysters and low lifes. I am glad it worked out I did not get an appt looking at the reviews they do not provide a massage but a "body scrub". I guess a poor business does not understand the difference between a body scrub and a professional massage. Are they licensed to give massages? It seems like the were closed down for a few weeks for providing 'extra services' to men. I guess that is why they are opened until 11pm. STAY AWAY.
LOOK AT THE ACCUATE REVIEWS ON YELP. Not the ones a few friends do for them.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! UNPROFESSIONAL IS AN UNDERSTATMENT! I bought a Groupon from them as I was trying to find a place near my work to get a massage, HUGE MISTAKE! THEY DONT ANSWER THE PHONE! EVER! After a few days of phone tag with them I was finally able to make an appointment. A few days later they TEXTED ME to let me know that my appointment had to be rescheduled because they were closed for the day for a staff event. DIDNT YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT???? Finally the day comes for my appointment and the address on the Groupon isn't correct! So I call to verify but guess what? NO ANSWER! Then I Google them to try a second location listed on their website and still can't find the place. Call again and guess what? NO ANSWER! IM STILL WAITING FOR A CALL BACK! I planned my only weekday off around this to have my TIME WASTED! THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!!!

Do not go here!

Like so many others, I bought the Groupon for what I thought was a massage. It was not.

It was difficult to find because there is not even a sign.

The first 30 minutes was laying on an uncomfortable mechanical table for 30 minutes. I was annoyed but figured that's the Groupon hustle - you get it for half price so you get half a massage.

When I got tired of the table, i got up and asked for a water, which they were nice enough to give me. Then the receptionist led me to the room for my massage. The table had 3 old, well-bleached towels on it that I was to lay between. The massage was literally just a young woman rubbing lotion on me. She did my whole body once, and then she started doing the same thing again - just getting more lotion and rubbing it on my skin. I asked, "is that all you're going to do? Just rub lotion on my skin?" She replied, "that's what a massage is." So then, I called it off and said I was leaving. This was about 7 minutes in. She said ok and didn't ask why or anything. The receptionist tried to explain that this was a lymphatic massage. I tried to explain that pulling someone off the street and having them rub lotion on you is not a massage.

These people are ignorant as hell!
First of all, if you don't like your job, you should quit!
The people that work there are ignorant and always have an attitude.
My daughter got me a gift certificate to this dump for Christmas and I wasn't able to use it until now. I scheduled an appointment in May for this past Friday and they did not open/answer the door. The sign says to arrive 5 minutes early and I was there before that. Every time I call, I could never get anyone. They call you back days later and have an instant attitude when you ask them questions.

On Friday, I emailed and called but no one answered. Do you know one of them had the nerve to JUST call me back a few minutes ago?! Then, when I said, "yeah, that was Friday" she said, "ok, thanks" and hung up. How ignorant? Again, if you don't like your job, you should definitely quit!

As others have stated, it's nearly impossible to make an appointment here. I played a 5 month game of phone tag with them only to be told that I could not get an appointment for another 2 months. The receptionist was so incredibly rude and seemed annoyed that she had to book an appointment. When I received my confirmation text the day before my appointment it was for the wrong time. Fortunately I was still able to make it, because I probably wouldn't have been able to contact them. The girls were nice and friendly when I arrived. However I did not realize that my "two hour spa day" was actually one hour in a sauna and one hour on some glorified full body massage chair. The girl said it was "detoxing" (let's not even get into the fact that sweating and massage do not detox your body, and there is no need to detox because our bodies are amazing and do it naturally).....but it was really just an incredibly boring waste of time and money. Plenty of real spas and massage places in the area to choose from, don't waste your time here.

If only I read these other reviews before purchasing my groupon. It sounds like my experience was not an isolated incident. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I purchased a groupon and the hassle involved to try to schedule the appointment and the terrible customer service is enough of a reason for me to get a refund from groupon and to never give this place my business (even though I was initially so excited to see their service offerings so this is really a shame). When you have a groupon they do not allow you to schedule your appointment online (sort of understandable but plenty of businesses allow you to make an appointment without charging your card or simply having you input your credit card in case you don't show up for your appointment). You have to call them to schedule an appointment, which shouldn't be that big of an inconvenience except for the fact that they never seem to have a receptionist available. The voicemail for their office says due to high call volume they will return your call by the next business day. The first time I called and left a voicemail it took them 6 days to call me back... And then their voicemail was just that they are returning my call. It didn't confirm the date/time that I provided for my availability. So then it turns into this game of phone tag spanning WEEKS. When I called again today to schedule, yet again no answer, and I provided two dates/times that were available per their online scheduling. The receptionist Kimberly apparently was not pleased with my voicemail complaining about this inefficient process to schedule an appointment. She proceeded to call me back 5 times in 10 minutes which was surprising since the last time it took 6 days to get a return call. She claims the dates/times I provided as my preferred date/time were taken (they still show as available on their online scheduling platform after this call). Kimberly was rude, snarky, told me that Groupon's are like Black Fridays in that you get a good deal but that you need to expect to wait in long lines etc. So she basically said she was going to give me poor customer service because I bought the service at a discount! I think she missed the memo that Groupon's are designed to attract new clients and that you really should be going above and beyond as you want to covert them to a regular client, that is how you grow a business. She told me they are completely booked for the month and that honestly my best option is to get a refund from Groupon at this point. I couldn't believe she was saying this stuff to me. Her attitude was terrible, and this place clearly does not want new clients. And heaven forbid you purchase a groupon or some other discount which will prevent you from booking an appointment online then good luck trying to get someone on the phone to be able to schedule an appointment!

SAVE YOUR MONEY. I purchased the "Two-Hour Spa Package for One" Groupon back in March that was supposed to include a 30 min infrared sauna session, 30 min vibration therapy, and a 60 min treatment of either a sea salt scrub, brown sugar scrub, mud cocoon, or seaweed treatment.

I had the hardest time getting in contact with someone to schedule my appointment and once I received a call back, the "receptionist" was very cold and borderline rude. She informed me that the office isn't open on weekends even though they listed that they were on the deal page. I had to schedule my appointment for over a month later. So once I received my appointment confirmation email a few days ago, it said my appointment was for a 90 min Detoxifying Massage. NOT WHAT I PURCHASED. When I went to check my Groupon to confirm that I purchased the correct one, I found that they had already redeemed my groupon BACK IN MARCH. I hadn't even had my appointment yet!!! When I called the spa to get some clarification on what was going on & to cancel my appointment, my call went STRAIGHT to voicemail, where I was asked to leave a message to a FULL voicemail box!!

I contacted Groupon to get a full refund and will be sure to dig deeper into a company's reviews before I book a service. Based on the reviews that I have seen and the responses that this company is giving their customers, this seems like a huge scam.

Kim Wilson's review nailed it. I purchased the detoxifying massage via Groupon for my husband as a birthday gift and it was not a massage. He questioned their credentials because they barely touched him and just wrapped in a towel and left him alone for an hour while he listened to a Stopped music cd and children playing outside the door. Lesson definitely learned.

Absulatly loved them. They seems to know what they are doing. Very relaxing and clean atmosphere. Thay are very welcoming and friendly. Very happy with the result.

I purchased a 60 minute detoxifying and relaxation massage through Groupon. It is NOT a massage!! It is a "treatment" of sorts. Very misleading. If you are in need of a massage, do not do this. Not even sure if they are licensed therapists on site. Saw nothing on the wall. I also contacted Groupon and asked that they update their website and remove this as a "massage". Hard lesson learned! :( Should this happen to you, certainly worth noting it might be worth contacting your bank and doing a charge back. The service was not provided as advertised.

I just want to say that I love this place. I was extremely skeptical about my detoxifying and relaxation massage to begin with due to some of the reviews. The licensed therapists there are well educated and filled with both knowledge and love for their craft. I had a great experience and have been going back ever since. I had the opportunity to read the other reviews on this thread. While I can understand purchasing a service and not receiving what you expected sucks, it's very important to read what your purchase before you buy. A lot of the complaints were based around "being rubbed" instead of being given a massage, but if you were looking for therapeutic massage this is not it. It's a relaxing detox special. It's very relaxing and detoxifying. It isn't fair that such a wonderful business is penalized based off of incorrect assumptions. I arrived for my appointment and after they redeemed my Groupon the lady handed me an intake form with an extremely thorough definition of the service, and even allowed me to take a copy home. If you came in the center you wouldn't believe half of the remarks that others have made.

This is the best spa ever. The staff is cool, they made my girlfriend and I super comfortable during our experience. We purchased two 90 minute detox massage off Groupon and it was very relaxing.

One of the best kept secrets in RDU area. I've been going since they've opened and continue to get spectacular services. They offer a lot of in house specials, and they're very accommodating.

October 25, 2017 05:11

The staff is really nice. The atmosphere was nice. I had their detox and relaxation massage. I left a $10 tip because she was good at working with me and my shoulder muscles and neck felt so much better after it was finished. (I hope she got it. I had to leave it with someone else)

I just had a bit of a time finding the building. Lol. Most buildings, when there are 2 identical ones, one would have rooms numbered 1 and the other one 2, and so forth. And both buildings at the turn had the noticeable numbers beginning with 2. It had me going from one building to the other one, until I just walked. I had to get right up on the building to see it.

This was a good experience, though. My first experience. Lol

I purchased off Groupon and it broke down what I was supposed to get today. I walked in and they had me fill out the forms. Lady up front was nice and store looked clean but She wasn't very engaging. She took me to a room in back room which is where I received the massage. On Groupon it said you can pick between seaweed, mud, sugar scrub, etc. She automatically gave me a sugar scrub. She rubbed my legs, back and arms then lotioned me up. It was rough and not completely consistent as far as pressure went. I did enjoy most of the rub but after this they wrapped me in a thermal blanket that didn't even get hot. Then they took me to a room where I layed on a roller massage bed which hurt my back. She said that it was like a deep tissue massage but was not. They kept me on that thing for at least 45 minutes. I have a not on my shoulder blade now. They never took me to the sona room which I was supposed to. That's what I paid for. I'm glad I purchased on Groupon because I would have been extremely upset if I paid full price for that. Will not come back unless to just get body rub.

My first experience with Bon Appetit was just wonderful, so I came back. I had another superb experience! LJ was absolutely amazing! She answered all questions and made sure I understood everything. She was very professional and very educated in this discipline. I would recommend Bon Appetite to anyone who asked. I have found my new go to spot, without any contracts that you cannot get out of, and no pressures. With wonderful service, educated and friendly staff who believe in what they are doing and many options and services for my well being (OH! and they are environmentally conscious and make their salts and scrubs in house), Bon Appetite has an new regular! Thank you again :)
