Great group of people, top notch equipment and very knowledgable coaches that helped me scale the workout to my ability! I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Great community of Crossfiters. My wife has become stronger and more challenged because of these folks.

Very good layout, enough to support 2 classes at same time. Instructors take the time to show proper technical movement of each exercise especially if you're new to the program. Great people!!

Quite honestly, the first time I really enjoy going to the gym. For as long as I have been a gym-goer I always maintained memberships but never truly enjoyed going. This led to a lot of wasted money on a membership I didn't use. I learned about CrossFit years ago because one of my insanely fit friends started doing it. I was always too intimidated to try it because, well, I am not insanely fit. Ha! I stumbled across a Facebook ad one day for the 6 week challenge with SODU and I thought, what the heck! I need to do this for myself and get back in shape. I remember walking towards the gym for the consultation and seeing all these people lifting weights and part of me wanted to turn around and get right back in my car and drive to chic-fil-a. I felt incredibly out of place....and FAT. But I sucked it in and sucked it up an walked inside. I met with Erica. She was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Needless to say, I joined the challenge and eventually a full time member. I thoroughly enjoy the workout programs. I love the change up every day so I am always sore (makes me feel accomplished). Its also super motivating when being surrounded by so many hard working, dedicated, people. All levels of skill and fitness are there working together. SODU is judgement free zone and I love that. I have since become friends with many members. It is a very close knit community which I think is awesome because I moved here from CO and don't know many people outside of work. Having friends there also helps keep me accountable and motivated, and lord knows I need that. Above all else, nothing beats the feeling when I leave class like, "yes, I'm still alive and I feel great!" Sometimes you feel like you might die....but trust me, you wont. If you are questioning CrossFit, I encourage you to come in and try a class. Everyone will welcome you with open arms (including me) and soon enough you will be a proud meathead.

Spent 6 weeks with SODU CrossFit and had a great time. I was part of a limited-time challenge that included 3x a week crossfit, 3x a week other workout and a specific diet.

I really enjoyed my time at this gym-every coach was really knowledgeable about the best way to teach the moves, as well as "scale" according to my needs. I was never once judged by a coach or another member for being a beginner to working out and over the course of the 6 weeks I was encouraged to go further in my workout. I really liked going to the early AM classes, because it was a smaller group size and a little quieter. The afternoons are definitely busy, but definitely enough room in the classes that the coach was able to give you individualized attention.

If you're looking for a space that is inclusive and supportive, while still learning to be a crossfit warrior, this is for you :)

I just finished doing a 6-week challenge with the folks at South Durham CrossFit and had an amazing experience! My goal was the lose 6% body fat in 6 weeks and I ended up losing 7% body fat and 10 pounds in 5 weeks. I had many misconceptions about CrossFit that initially turned me off to signing up (i.e. its just for meatheads, you do complex movements with no instruction, there isn't any science/thought behind the workout plans), but my experience with the program, the people who were members, and the instructors couldn't be further from my initial thoughts.

An extreme amount of thought and care went into designing the program. The meal plan, workouts, coaching and social support were expertly woven together to make for a seamless experience. It addressed every pitfall one might encounter when starting a new fitness program (sticking to a meal plan, meal prepping, losing motivation, stress) and made it as easy as possible to succeed.

The members there were great. They were encouraging and friendly. Almost everyone I worked out with came up and introduced themselves to me, and were very helpful if I needed advice on a movement or was struggling with a workout.

The coaches were experts. A special shout out to Amy Depolo and Jason Carley who I trained with most frequently during my challenge. Both were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and motivating. Both great as coaches and people you would want to grab a beer with after class.

Overall I give the program an A+ and would encourage anyone who is looking to transform there body and commit to the program to join South Durham Crossfit.

I have been going to this place from past around 1 month. Coaches are very friendly and knowledgeable. You can never predict what is going to be the next day's workout. Each day is different. I have been working out with coach Justin, Faith and Jack. I like them all. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Community is at the heart of Southpoint CrossFit. Everyone is made to feel welcome regardless of who they are, what their fitness background is, or what goals they might have. It's really impossible to come here without feeling like you're part of something special, and the supportive and fun nature of this gym is what I love the most. Everyone wants to do well and cheer each other on, but there's no intimidating competitive vibe here, and no battle of the egos.

Owner and head coach Bea is phenomenal, as are the coaches she brings on. I've had the pleasure of working out with and being coached by Bea for almost six years now. She encourages everyone to test their boundaries, and because she takes the time to get to know everyone who walks into her gym, it's always in a way that makes them feel comfortable and confident in their abilities.

I have been a member at Southpoint for almost two years. It is an excellent gym with small classes and highly knowledgeable classes. Not to mention the other members are wonderful and help create a fun, positive and welcoming environment. You'll see improvements in all levels of your fitness regardless of where you start from. You won't regret checking this gym out!

In the four years I've been doing Crossfit, I've learned that each box struggles to find its voice. Bea and Rich have fixed this issue by offering a wide range of classes and coaches that can cater to those looking to lose weight, refine their Olympic lifts, or become a serious competitor. You are able to focus on your goals and gain motivation from the rest of the members without feeling like you are alone.

But all of this is nothing if the gym, members, and coaches are not approachable and welcoming. That was the first thing I noticed about the gym and haven't looked back. With a focus on not only training hard but also doing things together outside of the gym it offers a community and support that is missing from some of the other boxes.

Highly recommended to anyone looking to start their journey or to finally accomplish what you've been meaning to for years.

My wife and I bought a groupon sprI got 2016 and we are hooked. We love the coaches and the folks that go to the gym are all really nice and accepting. The 6am group is dedicated and the 430 group is more lively and joking. The class sizes stay pretty small, probably 5 people on average but some days it may just be two and other days 10. Classes are capped at 12 so you always get coaching tips to make sure you are doing everything correctly. A lot of encouragement and cheering. If you are new, people make a point to come up and introduce themselves (or at least I do!) to make you feel welcome. Wall balls are my enemy.

I have been at a couple of CrossFit boxes over the past couple of years with varying community personalities. Southpoint Crossfit is the first place I actually feel like I am part of something. The head coach and owner, Bea, is amazing. Bea and her community welcomed me in right away. Bea is an incredibly supportive and passionate coach. She always aims to help her members meet their goals and provides a great deal of motivation.

I can honestly say this is the first time I have had fun at Crossfit in a very very long time. Bea's gym is equipped with everything you really need; amazing coach, awesome gym, and fantastic community. I highly recommend Southpoint CrossFit to everyone (brand new and experienced); no matter where you are in your journey, this is a great place to be.
