Buyer beware! First, they don’t honor the seven-day free trial, because every gym is “independently owned.” Then the month-to-month is a sham. You pay $10 initiation fee and then your first and last month’s membership $30 to walk in the door one time. Basically you’re on the hook for two months membership every month; so this is not month-to-month. For example, I joined 10/22 and the billing cycle was 10/15, so there was no way I could give the required thirty days’ notice to avoid billing on 11/15, despite the fact I am leaving the gym well before 11/15. Sound confusing? I wish Fitness19 in Cary were more forthcoming and direct about its charges. It feels deceptive, so for that reason I give it a one star for poor business practice.
Free weights. Squat racks. Enough benches. Bunch of other equipment. Good for pros and beginners. Haven't tried buying training sessions from trainers so can't comment on that. At times a bit crowded but can't complain with the price offered.
Small gym but has everything you need. I like it simple. Monthly membership very affordable and practical for what is provided
I first joined this gym in 2007, when I was in high school. I convinced my parents to join because I wanted all of us to be healthier and fitter. The gym was great then, prices were very reasonable (you might even say that prices were low!) and the equipment was pretty new. If you had asked me then, I would've given Fitness 19 a 5 star rating.
13 years later the prices seem to be relatively the same, as does the equipment. I ended my membership a long time ago, when I left for college, but I always get a guest membership when I am home for the holidays. I have noticed the gym accumulate more and more dirt each year and I am very disappointed with how it has been maintained. A lot of weight lifting equipment isn't properly lubricated, protective coverings are missing, handles have electrical tape on them instead of a proper rubber sleeve etc.
I understand that when membership prices are this low, it's hard to cover the costs of new equipment, but someone ought to do a better job of servicing and maintaining what is there. Maintenance is also critical from a liability standpoint. As a point of comparison, my gym at home in Texas is $20/month. All of the equipment was recently replaced, but even before, it was kept clean and maintained with care. I also wish that Fitness 19 would do something to better ventilate the gym, to help make it smell a little better.
With just a little more effort to care for the equipment and keep the place clean, I think this gym could easily be as great as it used to be!
Low monthly cost, it's small not a lot of equipment, but it gets the job done.
Good staff, good equipment, good floor layout, good value. Also, good fellow clients. Nice people of all shapes, sizes, ages and genders workout there. F19 is a great place to go for a workout.

I started at this gym 8 years and 200 pounds ago. When I joined I was over 400 pouns and and have gotten down to 215 and maintaining. This location is clean and staffed with very kind and professional people. I absolutely love coming in the mornings and starting my day with you guys at Fitness 19. Keep up the great work.

One of the good gym in Cary. This gym has well maintained equipments. Staffs are friendly and professional. They are happy to help all time. Gym fee is very nominal. Happy to be part of this gym.

They take time to understand my goals and limitations, help me get the technique right, work with me on mobility and stretching, and give me a program I can get excited about.

My only one request for the owner. May people who work out here would like different music from time to time. A little more to pump all of us up. I hear the same music every time I am in there only one time there was a change and everyone loved the music change, maybe tell the franchise.

A courteous staff along with well maintained equipment make this a pleasant daily experience.
A really good gym with amazing staff for a cheap membership price. I worked out at this gym since June 2016 and recently cancelled my membership as I moved to another city. It has been hard to find an economical gym down there without any issues. I really wish they open another branch in Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina
This is a great Club it's full of friendly people who are interested in working out which is inspiring, it's clean the staff is extremely professional can you always feel good when you're here. The best part is the price are you kidding me this low for grade equipment and group people in the neighborhood

This is a great gym that has everything I need and is never over crowded! I take my two year old to the kids room while I work out and she loves it! I always see the staff cleaning and the equipment is well maintained. I love the new bikes and all new yoga mats! Great gym for a great price!
My mom is a member here and she is treated very well. I was a member here in 2014 but later cancelled my membership since my company pays for a FREE YMCA membership. But I don't mind coming here with my mom and paying the $5 guest fee or coming on my own and paying $10 (the latter is more steep). In any case this is a good gym and the people who are complaining should read the fine print when they sign up for a membership. The cancellation policies are spelled out in the contract. :)
We have been members for years at Fitness19. Our whole family , including extended family, enjoys the atmosphere and gym family we have made there. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. Everyone is always happy and makes my workout fun!! We have changed our body, minds, and family working out at Fitness19!!! I would recommend this gym to all my friends!! In fact,,,, I have and many of my friends have joined after coming in and training with us! We like lifting heavy and making noise and at this gym we can do that!!!
I wanted a simple but efficient / friendly place with weights and elliptical machines for a reasonable price. This spot way surpassed my expectations. More equipment than I expected. Great folks. Very cost effective. Yes - I would highly recommend it!

Was a faithful member for over 2 years. As a military officer I must keep in shape. When I got transferred to another state cancelling my membership was an enormous process! Called, wrote letters, finally called my bank to stop payment on services I had not received for over 3 months. Go somewhere else. This place is a racket, not concerned with customer service. If I could have given no stars I would have.
Fitness 19 is one of my favorite gyms.. the membership is a great value and the other members are down to earth and passionate about gym life. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and my daughter loves the daycare. We often find ourselves meeting with new people who share our goals with fitness and enjoy being a part of the gym atmosphere. Constant membership deals and great facilities for strength training and cardio. The members themselves are either really great and helpful or just keep to themselves but stay open to a spot or work-in.

I have been a member at Fitness 19 since they opened in January of 2007. No matter who the Manager was they were always very professional. Whenever I had a question about suspending and starting my son's membership the Manager or Assistant Manager was always helpful.
Also, the gym is always clean. There is always a cleaning spray and paper towels available to clean the equipment if you want to clean the equipment before you use it or after you use it. If I ever noticed that any paper towel machine ran out of paper I notified whoever was at the front desk and they have always refilled it very quickly. 95 percent of the people I have met at the gym are very nice. Most of the time if I needed to use equipment that was being used by someone else that individual would finish their set or let me jump in. Very few times have I been told I couldn't use and have too wait more than a few minutes.
There are plenty of cardio machines. In the 10 years I have been going to Fitness 19 if equipment was broken it is fixed in timely matter. Lastly, Shaun who is the Manager now is always very friendly and will answer any questions you may have. The rest of his staff follows his lead. It is just a great place to work out and you can't beat the price and location.
