I started training close to two years ago, and it changed my life for the better immediately. I wanted something to keep me in shape that was both fun and challenging, and doing the same lifts at the gym every week wasn't interesting to me. As someone who sits at a desk for 8 hours a day, I needed something that got me active and creative outside of work. I had always been curious about Parkour, and after realizing there was a gym right here in Rochester (that gives a free first class) I pulled the trigger, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Not only have I built up a good amount of muscle mass, but my body is entirely more mobile, and I'm more confident in everything from taking care of my body in my main sport, to how I carry myself in my personal life.
Their staff is far beyond knowledgeable and friendly. They take their work incredibly seriously in making sure they enforce safe training habits, proper technique, and of course making sure people enjoy learning to move throughout an environment. If you would've told me that within a few months I'd feel safe (and thoroughly enjoy) vaulting full-speed over objects at my hip height, balancing on a bar several feet off the ground, performing muscle-ups and many other techniques, I'd have never believed it.
They have built a strong culture that revolves around slowly working through progressions, encouraging and motivating each other, and never making anyone feel like they need to move at a pace faster than what they're comfortable with. I am absolutely not a big risk taker - never once for a second in any class have I felt unsafe, or like what I was about to attempt was dangerous.
I would highly recommend anyone of any age, weight, height, etc. give them a try.
