Average facilities, crowed place and poor management. Update: a quick response has been received from NYSC PR team, and really appreciate the team can listen to customer's words and comments. I would rate it 4 stars as positive communication.
Old machines but you can still get a good workout done and that's what it's important, also they have classes pilates yoga body conditioning cycling, it's a decent gym.
Wish they had more trainers, I've seen a few but they are not in shape so it's hard to ask for training sessions to trainers that aren't fit at all.
Great place for a real workout.. Shout out to my trainer Johnny.. And of course Steve and Albert. Tks guys you make this place great!!!!

Air conditioning has been working only sporadically since Spring 2018. Ask about it and you'll be told "they're working on it" and that it should be all good soon. All I know is, it's been a year and still the first floor (where all the cardio stuff is) almost never has any AC.
Also there are lots of rude members that the staff does nothing about, much of their equipment is set to not show calories (why?) and if you ask them to change the settings, no one knows how and doesn't care about following up... They also have no problem with people blasting their own annoying music out loud.
Gym is reasonably good for the price and you do get many machines. I liked my experience there although be prepared that the locker rooms are not always pristine, which is unfortunately also the result of people more than staff. Plenty of machines, several floors of them. My only caveat is that, like many health clubs, be aware of the hidden costs and fees (such as factoring in your annual fee.)
I've been at this gym since June 2016, and the experience has been great. The equipment and bathrooms are cleans, which makes for an enjoyable workout. I have worked out in other gyms, and I can state for sure that this is by far my favorite one. The people are also friendly, and I would definitely recommend joining this gym if you're still hesitant.

I really would've chosen 0 stars, but it's the only way to share my experience with these undercover bandits. I cancelled my membership in June 23, 2018.they took $15 for three consecutive months. Its August. They took $3.39 on the 2nd which is not a problem, but it's the 9th of August & still they took from my account. Talking about a cancellation fee. I agreed on the 1st of every month to withdraw from my account, but because of this taking from my account $10 on another date other than agreed, I wasn't prepared @ it left me with a bigger debt of $45 I owed the bank for insufficient funds. So be sure you know what you agreeing on when signing on with these people. When I started I paid $10 then after a year $15 @ a $100yearly for membership. Don't let them get you. Paying rediculous prices.

My favorite place. The best sports club. They have tones of sport equipment and facilities. Good location.

I was in Queens, NY to visit some friends. Well, in my time there I really wanted to continue to work out and go to the gym. It was awesome that I was able to sign up for the trial with NYSC while I was there. Their facilities were great, everything was kept in good order, and the staff were all so helpful and understanding.
4 floors to take advantage of working out from cardio to free weights to classes. The staff are super friendly. Good cheap price. Unfortunately, barely anyone wipes after themselves in the cardio machines. No one ever puts the weights back so you always gotta waste time looking for matching weights. The staff don't care to enforce these things. Would be better if they held the other members accountable for the disorganized mess

Looking for a New gym to go to and due to reading Most All Negative comments I know now to exercise by running pass this gym & all New York Sports Clubs in Queens! Terrible, looks like management is not being sensitive by negative comments and concerns by rhere customers?! There response of concern are by a AUTOMATIC COMPUTER response..Shame on u New York Sports Club.

I actually like this gym a lot. I think it's definitely the best in the area. I went to 24hr fitness first, but most of their amenities were not available no matter what tine I went, and it was too small and packed for me. After a few months I moved to planet fitness, and really took advantage of their black card spa perks. The customer service was the best I've ever experienced at a gym, but the clients there were absolutely repulsive and there were issues with harassment. Two months ago I started going to this NYSC and I've really enjoyed the dry sauna and steam room. The members here are much more friendly than anywhere else, and the staff is helpful as well. Although they don't compare to the staff at planet fitness. They just seen like they're there to do their job and that's it.
I should mention that this gym occasionally runs out of towels, and it's a recurring issue here, so try to bring your own towel if you can. Also, group classes and personal trainers are a big thing here, so if you're someone that is into that, especially after work, this is a great place for you, but if you're like me and would rather workout by yourself or with a friend, try to avoid the peak hours when there are about 5 group classes going on at the same time.
Finally, I'll end with a comment for the owners. The gym is big enough as it is, but there's a lot of wasted space in the first floor lobby. Would be a really great enhancement if that wasted space was used for something else like a juice bar or something. That way I wouldn't have to walk to GNC to get my pre and post workouts every time.
Pathetic gym....disgusting people...they are all a team.of liars ....they will completely refuse you from their own commitment. .. sweet knifes...will cut your pockets and hard earned income in seconds...will exhaust you to stress...will leave no limits to embarrass you... on my experience...dont ever enroll your self for this gym....donate rather if you have enough money.... you will atleast end up getting blessings.... i will each day ...each second ...curse this gym...for ruining my money.... curse urseonly curse .....bad people....bad team.....liars only
A few weeks ago, I went into the club to cancel my membership. I was told by the staff at the counter that I couldn't cancel my membership until I spoke to the manager. He was unavailable at the time but he would call me. Three days later, no call yet, I go back into the club and he's with a customer, he will call me. No call. I went in a third time, manager still unavailable, he will call to cancel your membership. Three weeks later, no calls despite multiple attempts of physically going into the gym and calling on the phone. Had to cancel my credit card to stop them from charging monthly. Terrible customer service.
Your greeted by very friendly staff the moment you walk in. The floors are big and gave a variety of machines for everyone to use.
I went to in to cancel my membership (sauna does not work most of the time and bathroom are dirty.) people were rude did not acknowledged me. when I asked to talk to someone they were like what do you want I told them to cancel my membership and they were like no one is here just fill this out and they will get to you. As I was filling my paper work out someone came in to join the club and someone jumped out to help him. its been few days and no one has contacted me
There is too much going on here. What I mean is, it is crowded - with people and with machines. You are literally on top of each other... a little uncomfortable. I am not saying do not go (check it out and make your own decision), but I will be going back to 24 Hour Fitness.
Nice gym. It has everything I need.
I come here in the quiet hours, 7:30 - 9:30 AM I like how the gym is organized even though it's on 4 floors. The facility is reasonably clean and well lit. I prefer this gym over the other one in the area. The demographics probably make this a better place.
The staff were a bit slow but it is an excellent gym fully stocked with everything you will need.
If you go on Saturdays early in the morning the gym is pretty clean and the staff are pretty nice!
Terrible customer service overall. Would NOT recommend to anyone. Bathrooms can sometimes be dirty and sauna room is turned off during the weekend.
In addition, I've called and spoke to the general manager 2 weeks ago and last week and haven't gotten a call back. So, my issue hasn't been solved for 3 weeks now.
They've increased my membership without notice and gave me the wrong information from associates and the manager level. Froze my account and continued to charge me full amount without any notice again. No records of email, nor phone call from any staff.
need more squat and bench racks. also more space for deadlifts. otherwise not too bad. a lot of cardio machines. fourth floor is nice when empty. can get really crowded. bathrooms are RIP
I was a member of the NYS Sports club for a year and this summer around last week of July I cancelled my membership due to the fact that my work schedule has changed and it will be hard for me to go on a daily basis. In July the gym charged me the annual fee which is ok because that's the rule right? and then the front desk attendant explained to me that they are processing my cancellation and that I can still come until Sept 9 and I don't have to pay anything because I paid for the whole month already. Guess what? comes Sept 9 my debit card was charged 99.95!! it doubled the amount of my monthly payment and I tried calling the Forest Hils branch because that's my home gym and nobody can answer my question and they keep saying the manager Carry will call me back!! I never got a phone call back and when I tried calling them again they do not pick up the phone!! I am so pissed because I use my debit card not credit card for my gym payments and they literally rob me cash right there!! I am going to file a report now at the Better Business Bureau!!
The gym is great, but some members of the staff specifically the front desk can be down right rude. The gym itself is well kept equipment is updated frequently and it's clean. But the members that go to this gym are somewhat shady I've had things stolen from me during my classes. This use to be my primary gym but not anymore. Proceed with caution.
They charged me multiple times for things they did not make me aware of. I've called several times to ask why I was being charged for a $1.50 charge and $10 charge that occurred more than 40 days after I ended my memberships, and they have not picked up the phone.
I'm a student so I'm broke. It's extremely frustrating seeing money being taken and panicking for a second because you dont know why.
