I called regarding an issue on my girlfriends account. The manager refused to speak to me because it was my gf account which is understandable. I then requested to speak regarding my account in which I was then told shes now in a training session and cannot speak to me (believe his name was Dimitry). I requested for another manager in which another person got on the phone and replied she is the only one who could handle this matter. When I asked her if she knew what the matter was that I was addressing she stated no. I asked to speak to a different manager in which i hear one of the Front Desk people say "if hes being rude just hang up" in which I was hung up on. I have had an account here for three years and will now be cancelling it. I called three times to speak with a manager (Robin) and was put on hold for 7 minutes each time until I called a third person hung up on me. My GF has an account there signed up beginning of month. She took a tour met a trainer she got comfortable with who was then fired the week after. My Girlfriend now has requested to cancel her personal training part of her membership considering the guy was fired and keep her gym access in which they are now making her pay 3 months of personal training for someone getting fired. For someone who has been with you guys for three years, I have never been treated this way by any establishment in this matter. Not only is she being taken advantage of, the way I was treated when trying to handle was very unprofessional. Both accounts will now be cancelled for the way this handled.

Too many memberships sold. Pictures below are a Sunday from 1 pm to 2pm- guess the rest of the day. Intend to spent 2-1/2 hours for a normal 1h 15mis routine. The place is full even at lunch. Plus, Is this a gym or a Pro-Trump campaigner? Fox News all over the gym.

The men's locker room smells like rotten socks and cat piss, the members have no idea how to re-rack anything. Never see staff taking care of the place.
Best bet is to show up early so you have a better chance at finding what you need.

Really nice place! Very nice people and a great community. Jack at the front desk is awesome! He helped set up a new fob for me, without me even asking, so I could check into the gym faster.

This club will raise the fees without telling it's customers. also, its extremely dusty. But- great teachers! Esp Yvette DeBrita for spin! Take her class. You will love it!

Have been a member for two years now. The membership fee is low but so are the standards for cleanliness and upkeep.
There was once a red piece of cotton fabric that was stuck on the water fountain for over two weeks... meaning the water fountain was not cleaned at all for that amount of time.

That is all I have to say right now.

Gym consistently opens late. States 5:30am open but there have been times you have to wait until 6am.

Outside of Treadmills all the equipment is old with rust covering almost all other equipment.

Good luck trying to get a locker or even a workout in during peak times.

I have been at this gym for 2 months now and it is a great fit for me! I haven't taken advantage of the classes- as they fill up really fast. It is a busy, motivating, gym full of people that are determined- no matter their experience. The staff is helpful and the gym itself is fairly clean. My only complaint would be there is little to no free weights in the 15-25 lbs category-maybe I just haven't found them though!

Would give zero stars if I could. Signed up for a free trial and clicked the Don't contact me with promotional offers button. Within an hour I had 7 texts promoting deals on membership. Absurd. Showed up and presented the email along with a digital ID and was told only a physical ID would work which was not specified. Waste of an afternoon, no attempt was made by staff to find an alternative or extend the trial to compensate.

I think the gym is a good value for the money. Two floors, lots of machines, different workout areas, and friendly staff. Not a 5-star gym of course, but I'm overall satisfied

Hot garbage with plates everywhere. You will need to call dibs on equipment and/or hope people are enough to rotate and share the machine with you. Good luck trying to get a quick work out.

I've been a member to this gym for a year and a half sometimes they are machines that are broken but not for long the people at front desk are very nice they greet u and try to help with what they can. place is kept clean and alot of machine's to weight train. after all I love this gym.

Very consistent service, and staff is pretty helpful and discrete at their work. The facility offers a good variety of equipment, and the main floors are clean. Never used the shower/sauna, so I can't say much. I assume they are fine.

I moved to Astoria about eight months ago from staten island and wanted a personal trainer who would give me a workout and help me discover my strengths and weakness. I have to say John Lopez is one of the best trainers I ever had I thank you and command you my brother

I won't feel bad if this place closes down. Corporate doesn't care enough to check the location out at least once a month and see how customers feel about the service and the gym itself. Extremely rude front desk girls. Nobody ever greets you when entering the facility. If you ask a question, it turns Into an argument. This is why places like equinox exist, because of the service they provide.

This is a zero star review. Save yourself from getting scammed by these greedy rats that work there. They are big liers that change the price on you in the middle of a contract, getting you to sign on one price and changing the price higher is the way they operate. Melissa would not even allow me to cancel this membership for 3 months now. Its a nightmare. Save your money and peace of mind, stay far away from this dirty place. sneakers to the sauna, sweet on machines, small mice by the water coolers.
Just do your research 1st before you end up dealing with these issues too. Stay way unless you want fake charges on your card, like being doubled billed, and like escalation contracts, where you see one low price but pay another higher price, like not beeing able to cancel, ans like small mice.
Only benefit you get if you do business with this group is free stress test and high blood. That's what they have to offer.

I just moved to Astoria and was looking for an affordable gym. My friend recommended NYSC and I'm glad he did. It's not too busy and they have every type of machine for your workout.

They raised their "locked in" rates (that doesn't even make sense). Can't talk to a manager because they're only their 9-5, meanwhile they're customers mostly come in before and after that. Asked them to call me, they tried once, never called again. But it's not like any gyms have good customer service.

They have tons of some equipment, but some machines that everyone wants to use they only have one. So you're waiting in line even if it's not busy to do any cable exercises. Overpriced if you don't get a deal. But location is too good for me to change.

I have an all around terrible experience with almost every NYSC branch but I think this is one of the better ones. Enough equipment that there are less lines than other branches. Locker rooms could stand being cleaner but in general it is better than other branches. I

Want to wander around the gym for 5 minutes trying to find the proper weights to use? This is the place for you. Otherwise good selection of equipment in good shape. Just wish someone would go around and put the weights back in the proper place.

I was told on two different occasions that they would cancel my membership then call me back, and they never did. I had to follow up on my own repeatedly to get any concrete response. In the end, it took four different phone calls to successfully cancel my membership. In that time, I was charged two more months and a cancellation fee. Don't both signing up and you won't have to deal with that.

It's a gym. They have exercise equipment there. They offer a lot of machines and plenty of space, but try to go sometime other than right around 5pm on weeknights. Because everyone in Astoria wants to work out at the same time. Not the gym's fault though, they keep it pretty clean and usually have clean towels even when it's busy.

This is coming from a person that does not pay for passport. I've had passport in the past and by comparison this is not the nicest gym.

Now that that's out of the way. As a gym its a great gym with more equipment and more space than most gyms in the area. It is clean but definitely understaffed. This means if you come around 9am mid-afternoon after 6pm or before 11pm you will surely have a terrible time. It gets extremely crowded and the majority of people have little to no gym etiquette.

The staff is semi-friendly but as a huge plus non-intrusive to your workout. There should be more staff to pick up after others, but then again people should be able to pick up after themselves.

Machines are always operational except for some occasions and undergoing renovation. It's my favorite so far and i've been to at least 4 in the Queens area.

I have been part of this gym for a year now and all in all, the space isn't terrible. It is frustrating how frequently they don't have towels or how often the air isn't working, making the downstairs area incredibly hot and stuffy (with a strong not-so-pleasant odor). The equipment is good and usually everything works.

I could have given this place three stars, but my issue has been with the billing. This is now the fourth time they have messed something up.

My first issue was back in March when they decided to cancel my subscription without even telling me, citing that I hadn't paid; when in fact, one of their associates input my cc # in the system incorrectly. They told me they had to charge me again for a reactivation fee even though the fault laid with them.

Second issue - they forgot to bill me and decided to cancel again when it was their error. I received a phone call from them letting me be aware of this on the last day I had to rectify the situation, I had them charge the previous months they had missed and for some reason, my subscription was cancelled again. Again, they claimed they had to charge me another activation fee. When I confronted the manager, he told me they would still charge me, but give me a $10 per month discount to offset the cost of their error.

Third issue - they didn't apply the $10/month refund. Had to call and have it corrected - which actually wasn't a problem because my account was noted, but they couldn't refund the amount they had already charged for some reason.

Now - I get a call saying I haven't paid in months even though the billing is supposed to be automatic and I needed to be charged (my cc has a practically a zero balance so there was no issue with my card). Again, they weren't aware that I was getting a $10 discount and the woman was incredibly rude to me saying I was only mad because they were calling me about missed payments. She changed her tune after I told her to check the notes and she apologized. I was supposed to receive a call back to make sure everything has been fixed and I haven't heard a thing.

I've tried calling to speak to someone, but the manager seems to be nonexistent. I know of two other people I go to the gym with who either don't get billed or have had issues. I think the issue is a bunch of kids are running this place with no clue what they're doing. It sucks because my friends go to this gym and I would like to work out with them, but I can't deal with this anymore.

Bottom line, find a better gym.

Great space. The members could be more considerate and returning the weights and management could keep the gym more organized. If you don't mind a mess and weights all over the place that gym could be great.

I love this place. The only issue I have is that it should open at 5am instead of 5:30am. I am looking at other options since I need to be at work early.
