Ms. Maria Cartagena, the manager of this Harlem NYSC, is Good People so I am thanking her! When I asked if anyone had change so I could get a snack at the machine so I'd have blood sugar for a class, she didn't give me change. She GAVE me the money. And I'll bring it back for her, but the point is... she mainly wanted me to feel well and be able to take a class. And she also trusts that a good deed gets returned in the world. That's the kind of place I want to be. This Harlem gym feels like a welcome home. Others are friendly, too. Rosie, who was cleaning, is lovely and everyone I interacted with treats each human like a human being. Old style. How it's supposed to be -- and how it still is in OUR New York City!
Although it is only one floor, it is an excellent clean gym. So clean, I could have eaten off the floor. I love getting on the bikesand minding my own business. This is arguably the cleanest newyorksportsclub I have ever been in in my life. I recommend it highly.
I go to many NYSC, this is one of the more impressive ones I have visited. The staff is kind, and the facility is well equipped.
I think they have a fine facility w great staff.
I.like the punctuality of the opening staff in the mornings.nice group of workout folks in the early am.

I go as its convient to get to work. 3 x in last month ive worked out and couldn't shower as there was no towel 730 am. 3 days ago I went to detox and the sauna was broken Not the 1st time. These are recurring situations at multiple locations. I have talked to management and filled reports with corporate office. To no avail...no feedback or follow up. Unfortunately I'm locked into my membership for another 8 months. Forced to stay

It is a very good gym-equipments in good condition, spacious, clean, nice sauna, beautiful studios, and plenty of classes to choose from.

Go here all the time, great thing is done clubs are better than others each individual club has its perks and undesirables. Not that friendly but then I don't go there for friends fix machines in this place and I'll make it a common thing.

I've been a member for 3 weeks it seemed like a nice cool place to work out but now I'm starting to notice a few things such as the cleanliness. I also don't like the fact that I don't have a variety of equipment to choose from. Today i was picked for a free session and the person was nice and did give me a free session. But not before showing me the price plans and I believe one option, is a few sessions that cost about $600 which I think is outrageous. when I first signed up I was told I would get a confirmation email I never received the email so I don't have any idea what i will be charged to my account so at this point I'm just looking to cancel my membership immediately!!-- I hope they don't give me a problem to do so I've only been there 3 times I also feel like there's cameras in the woman's bathroom. I read another comment where someone had got their things stolen.out of tbe lockers. when he called they said they would look at the cameras but how would they know who stole the stuff if the cameras were not in the bathroom because the locker Zone is onlny located in the bathroom..im about dond

I mostly enjoyed the HIIT group fitness classes. Most functional training instructors were very good!
The kickboxing class I took was only ok. But I'm a kickboxing instructor myself so I know I can be over criticizing...;-)
The gym equipment is not that new but for sure is enough for a great workout!
There's also a functional training area that you can workout by yourself or with a personal trainer.
In total - it's a great place to maintain shape while on vacation and not at expensive - I highly recommend it!

My Gym is on 115th in Harlem it's awesome! It's fairly small but never too crowded and the people are friendly and helpful.

I was treated awful by staff (not instructors though) and unwelcomed I'm guessing due to my weight. The gym is impossible to cancel and is now charging me $110 even though I havent attended. Overall it's been an awful experience and I can't wait to never step foot in the facilities.
This gym is just ok. All the male staff is rude except The GM. The towels here are not the best. They only keep towels @ the front desk. So if you need a towel and your upstairs it will take you about 5-10 min to get a towel because you have to take an elevator to the second floor, which is very slow and feel like it gonna brake at any minute. The weights are never racked. First time I went to this location my locker was cut and robbed with 4 other members. Only thing good about this gym is it location.
Look--this place use to be the crown jewel of NYSC. But one day it fell off the top and it got REALLY disorganized.
1) All the lockers are taken by random locks OR the lockers are broken.
2) The weights are not organized--they are scattered like our president's thoughts
3)The towels are SCARSE. You have a better chance catching a train on time.
Some might say this review is too much, but someone has to say it.
Large gym. Got my memebership for $20 for this specific gym with no ititiation fee. They have promotions for such every holiday. There are a ton of machines at this gym but limited weight lifting space since there are so many guys waiting for eachother in the weight listing area during peak hours. This gym provides a towel service, showers and classes as well. They do have personal trainers but I believe that is an extra fee.
This gym is not terrible, but not good either. The showers and locker area are usually kept, but the machines look like they need a serious cleaning. I got a ringworm infection on my finders from poorly sanitized workout equipment. Don't forget to bring sanitizer if you're looking workout in here. Other than that, the special month-to-month deal is not bad
If you are more into free weights, this maybe your choice. The roof top location is nice providing nice light into the space. But a few issues there. The management is poor - the machines are often in bad condition, men's shower room is always filthy (they don't wash or change shower curtains for a several month until someone complains), men's locker room is messy. People here don't return weights after use. If the pool management improved, this could be the one of the bests in the neighborhood.
Love the location, The Sauna was under construction forever and some of the equipment needs to be replaced. Overall still great facility with awesome classes and Crossfit training.
The gym is really cool as a whole I like NYSC gyms however I wish I knew who to speak to about making 24hr locations. The way my schedule is set up is really hard to try and make it to the gym especially for the amounts you charge it wouldn't be to bad to accommodate your clients a bit more.
I don't get what I am paying for! I just spent so much time looking for an employee to get me a jump rope and after I finally called downstairs to the front desk they told me that they don't have any because people always steal them; what kind of a gym is that! There's never anyone around to help you at that gym! The machines are never working properly, the lock room is always messy, I can't believe that I have to go all the way to 49th st location to actually get a proper work out in a clean environment, that's crazy! I pretty much just wasted my whole morning I didn't get to work out at all! I am done with this gym, I'm only giving 1 star because you need at least 1 to write a review otherwise it would be -5.
The worse experience I've ever had with any business in my life! I went there to workout one day and was abruptly interrupted by the police and physically removed. Apparently someone was posing as me and breaking into lockers. As I result unknown to me I had been banned ( yet still billed for over three months) Long story short that person has been caught. I even had the detective on the case contact the GM. ( yes I had to do all this ground work myself ) And still i get no justice. They promised to call me back to resolve this months agos and still not one phone call. They are very unprofessional. I defiantly wotld not recommend joining this gym.
