SLT is very professional - the room is clean, trendy, and nice. The receptionist was really sweet! I had trouble following in the first class I took because the microphone was hard to hear and the instructions hard to follow, but after I voiced my concerns, SLT addressed my concerns very quickly and professionally. I am very impressed by their customer service. The megareformer is definitely really neat to try. Thank you SLT - I look forward to visiting you again the next time I'm nearby!

I really wanted to like this studio! It was pretty, trendy, and clean. The receptionist was nice. I wish I could give it more stars for that, but I go to fitness classes to work out. And the work out was not great. I found it hard to hear the instructor because of the microphone. What I could hear was confusing - some of the exercises/queues she used meant other things to me - i.e. "deadlifts" in my classes and the gym floor are a completely different thing then what everyone was doing in our class. I would be okay with that if she had demonstrated the action properly, but she mostly queued us with words and little explanation. I am a visual learner and found the class very hard to follow. I think the studio should consider having the instructor on the megareformer at least some of the time so us visual learners have an idea of what's going on. She also was not very nice - there was little positivity in the class. Which was alarming - I am a fitness instructor too and in all my training I have always been taught that positivity is the best motivator. Had I not paid for the class, rental socks, and a water, I would've walked out early. I watched the clock the whole class ready for it to end. I wouldn't consider this class again with the same instructor, but would give it a second chance with a different one.
Jay C's class is truly amazing and so hard! This class is truly challenging and is like yoga and pilates on crack.
This is one of my favorite studios in NYC. The atmosphere is super high energy, whether you're taking yoga or megaformer. I love Jay C's megaformer class. He's got a killer playlist and he'll make sure your abs are feeling it for days! Erin Jacques is one of the best yoga teachers around and you won't regret taking her class. If you're feeling up to it, give SHRED a try! This is not your mama's yoga class.
NYC needs solidcore - it is so much better on every level - studio space, music, coaches and intensity. This class feels like a joke compared to it.
Wow. This place used to be so great. I only made it to one class, but I was impressed. That was a little over a year ago, and I'm sad to say that it has definitely gone down hill since then. Having purchased an advanced package for 6-classes with an expiration date of July 2014, I was excited to redeem them. I called when the classes I booked were no longer showing online to see what was up. I was very curtly and rudely informed that they were no longer honouring those packages, with a dialogue that went something like this:
"We aren't running those classes anymore," said Rachel
"No problem," I replied. "Can you refund the amount, or just apply it to other classes?"
'Ma'am," she almost yelled, 'I told you we are not honouring those anymore. They have expired".
"But they haven't expired," I said. "I am looking at the expiration date in your own system. They expire on July 10th, 2014".
"Ma'am we are not honouring them. Goodbye".
And with that the phone line went dead.
Might be the rudest, most unethical customer service I have ever experienced. What a disappointing let down for what would otherwise be an NYC gem.
