November 2018 Update - Things are getting worse here! The main (and only) studio class is developing a serious and spreading mold problem on the ceiling. Picture attached. This is a health hazard! And this is where they bring people to exercise at full capacity and breathe in the toxic air. This gym has no way of opening any of its windows. Also, anyone know what is that heavy, industrial smell in the Spinning room that never goes away? I'm scared to find out. Also, the only bathroom in the gym, aside from the locker room bathrooms, that's located on the main workout floor has been "temporarily out of service" for more than a month. Picture attached. On the same floor, the barbell lifting corner has been "temporarily unavailable" for weeks now... And they have elegantly closed it off with a garbage can and plastic strings. Looks lovely. Picture attached. Both of the rowing machines have had their "temporarily out of service" warnings removed, but they're actually both broken. Regardless if you select setting 1 or 10 as a resistance, you'll get the same thing - they're almost impossible to row for more than 5 minutes. Multiple cardio machines on the main floor need fixing too, and I've brought up this issue to the management, but I don't think anyone there knows what they're doing. And, just to confirm, the cleaning and vacuuming of the gym is still happening during the busy hours, regardless of how many people are on the floor working out. So don't be thrown off by a guy vacuuming around your feet while you're trying to focus on lifting the weights. Also, EVERY hand sanitizer dispenser on each floor has been empty since.. well, I can't even remember the last time they were filled. They're desperately trying to save every $ at your expense people. At this gym, anything goes. I am happy to say, I'm finally cancelling the membership and moving on to another neighborhood gym. This place would not be worth it even at $5 a month.
I only go here because the place is around the corner. Most of the staff cannot even say "hello" when you come in.. forget about a smile or anything you'd expect from "customer service" - none of that. Staff looks like they're all in deep depression. Also - It's the DIRTIES gym I've been too.. It's so dusty, if you leave the towel somewhere and pick it up, you'll pick up a cloud of dust after it. And when the cleaning people are cleaning, it's not when people are not there - they will do it while you're working out.. going around you with a vacuum cleaner, hitting your machine, spraying window cleaning products near you.. seriously - whole management of this place is a total joke! For a month now, both rowing machines are not functioning properly.. many treadmills often break down and are not fixed for a long time.. And dear NYSC - please do not respond with an automated copy/paste message asking us to reach out to some email address if I want to address any of these problems.. I recommend you take all these negative reviews seriously, step up and deal with these issues professionally.
