Beware the first workout is not free at this location!!! False advertisement on the website, I chose to give it a try since it is close to my office. I canceled it last minute due an urgent meeting at work, but they still charged me for the class. The girl at front desk seems pretty nice tho.
Fantastic staff and coaches at Midtown West location. Great variety of workouts that keeps your body in a state of progressive change. Whether your goal is weight loss or maintenance, these workouts will reinforce those goals. Very welcoming place that is professionally run and effectively offsets the typical gym-intimidation of nyc.
I really loved this studio! The staff was very friendly and helpful - they didn't skip a beat getting me into the system. The coach was stellar and gave very good demonstrations. The studio itself was the perfect temperature, which is so important when all outing! Great job guys!
Fun !
Let me start off by saying that I am a big orange theory fan, member for over 1.5 years (based out of SF).
Be aware of the front desk and their policies at this location.
I had called (the night before) to be put on the wait list for a morning class, but after an hour or so, I canceled my booking. They still charged me $20. The worst part is, when I called to explain what happen, they didn't care and said this is their policy. I've been to at least 12 different orange theory's around the country and they are all pretty good about these types of situations.
There are like 3 other orange theories in NY, i won't be going to this one again.

I'm a month it and can say that it's been a great experience. I can see myself doing this for the long haul. They make it easy and personal and interesting. The biometrics, the apps, the support/encouragement. Highly recommend.

It's a good workout if you need someone to coach you through basic cardio and weights (like me), but unfortunately they've made the whole experience of going there so onerously commercial that it hardly feels good. The sales tactics (bait and switch, pressure, constant follow up, high price of entry with a $100 heart rate monitor) are on full display as soon as you interact with the club. And once you are in, the terms and conditions are dreadfully unclear. They advertise themselves as allowing you to visit other clubs, but once you actually try and do that, it's a hassle. In certain cities (San Diego), they won't let you book a wait list. In other cities (London), they charge a $30 drop-in fee. And in the case of Midtown West, they could really care less. When I asked about how I was being treated in London, they basically said, Sorry, You have to pay their $30 fee in London, notwithstanding the $279 unlimited membership you have at our Premier location. Next, their cancellation policy is absurdly unfair. Unless you cancel on the same day you take out a monthly membership, there is no way to avoid paying for 2 months, because they have a gross "30 day notice" policy. If you try to open a membership and cancel at the same time, to have just one month, they make that sound like it's a "gift" they are giving you. Finally, there is some really odd chatter that happens at this place... Openly making an issue of Barry's Bootcamp (their competitor) for being "60% gay" and therefore "pretentious" ... Some instructors not being patient with people who prefer to take the workout slowly at first... Again, if it was really a "family", then one could be more live and let live about it, but it's not - it's a highly commercialized gym looking to make as much money as possible and they create the "family" vibe as a gimmick.
Michael convinced me to come in and check out the facility and try a class. He asked for my credit card number to "hold" the class. I assumed it was a free intro class. I cancel a few minutes later because I forgot I had something to do after work the next day. I noticed my credit card was charged. When I asked why I was charged he said he wasn't sure, he said he'd get back to me. He calls back the next day and he said I can take a make up class in 30 days. I say I just joined the location near my house since it's more convenient, I'd prefer a refund. He said that's against policy. How can I be held to a policy he clearly didn't know because he had to call me back and I wasn't informed of it. I didn't even know this wasn't a free class. I called back to speak to a manger and he said she wasn't available. Then I asked when I could speak to her and he ignored me. I asked again and he said I can never speak to her. Get out of the business of customer service OT Midtown West! You're scammers and your customer service skills suck!

I like the classes a lot! It's an intense work out but it internally pushes you to go harder when you can see your heart rate. The better the music, the easier it is to push.
Coach Scott and the Midtown West staff were fabulous and welcoming for this out of towner! Great music and energy. Beautiful facility (I've seen several OTF studios and this one was gorgeous and spacious)! Thank you - I'll be back!
It's a constant challenge regardless of how much I've been training on my own and I burn more calories that I realize in one hour. I love it even when it gets uncomfortable. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and there's a good energy throughout the entire experience.
I love Orangetheory Midtown West! The sense of community at the studio helps my husband and I look forward to going to the gym. The workouts are also amazing! There are constant change ups so I never get bored with the workouts and always feel like I'm able to progress and push through plateaus because it is always something different. I highly recommend it!
I love working out with the Orangetheory Mid-Town west crew. They are all so nice and greet you by name. They are all incredible people and are there to help you. meet your fitness goals.
I also can not say enough about the incredible coaches, after taking a few classes with each of the coaches they know you by name and start to recognize where you might need the most help. I have a bad knee so the coaches always are giving me options to complete the exercise safely while still challenging me. These people are so talented and LOVE what they do and it shows in their work. I enjoy my time there and I enjoy the way I feel the next day.
I highly recommend this studio or any studio nationwide if you are looking for the best hour work out.

I visited from North Carolina where we have some of the nicest cleanest and up to date facilities for fitness but when I came to Orange Theory Midtown West, I was highly impressed. The staff was not only kind but very knowledgeable about fitness and overall health. The facility was top notch with cleanliness and my overall experience was outstanding. I plan to come back every time I visit New York.
Poor customer service and next to impossible cancellation process. BEWARE: They allow digital signatures for sign-up, but will not allow digital signature OR notarized letter for cancellations. Had to call 4 different times to speak with a manager, even though I was told one would call me back. They were supposed to open in early 2017, but didn't launch until October using the outdated contracts.
