Having poor, daily ergonomics and chronic pain from providing dental care, I went to Matthew for professional Pilates to alleviate my flared-up lower back and stiff neck. He understood my complaints well and appropriately planned a balanced stretch and exercise routine that not only focused on my problem areas but also improved my body's overall strength. We'd work on the Pilates together and make sure I'm stretching properly to maximize the productivity of our sessions.
I'd highly recommend Matthew to those who are looking to ease their chronic pain more permanently and less transiently.
I came to Matthew with spine injuries, hoping to provide some relief. Matthew was very thorough in his consultation with me, asking many questions, and identifying key areas to focus on. We did a lot of stretching and then moved to the reformer to stretch and strengthen. He provided me with exercises I can do in-between sessions so I can build my Glute muscles. I am excited to work with him on the journey while I heal. I had so much more mobility after just one session.
I work 70 hours a week in finance and it was nice to be able to come to a beautiful, relaxing environment and be guided through a gentle work out and stretch. It was an beautiful escape from the intense work environment.

Director Matthew Cole is the ultimate professional. He fully assessed my physical capabilities post marathon and helped my muscles recover, and build strength to improve my fitness. His knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology is the highest I've seen in a trainer. Consonantly attuned to my needs and goals, Matthew would change the workout based on what I was capable of during each session. I had so many complements from friends, and running partners about how fit I looked.
Sculpt NYC really did sculpt my body and provided a phenomenal workout leaving me toned and relaxed. I would recommend this studio to anyone looking to add cross training to their routine that leaves them feeling beautiful.
Matthew and Sculpt New York have been such a major source of positivity in my life!! The sessions are tough and he will make you work but he also makes it so much fun! The recent renovations to the studio are breathtaking.. there is not another pilates studio in NYC that I know of that can offer the level of professionalism and privacy while surrounding you with utter beauty that Sculpt does. Did I mention the amenities?? The view, healthy snacks and beverages, the spa bathroom that is literally nicer than mine at home- the list goes on! Everyone, whether you have tried pilates before or not, should absolutely be training at Sculpt NY!
