This is the best gym in all of NY. Pay no attention to the negative reviews. All these idiots complaining about the elevator being down so they had to take the stairs for a few weeks. The whole point of going to the gym is to workout not to take an elevator. This gym has everything you need & the staff is is great as well.
Joined some 15 years ago. over the years, club has become lax in upkeep of equipment, shower stalls, elevator, and of the 2 jacuzzis, 1 was out very, very often and it was usually the better one. What made me leave was strike 3 on getting screwed with earned amenities being taken away, again. most recently, was paying about $64 p/m under a 2 year, pay up front program. At the time of re-up in DEC, was advised that program was no longer available. Only a 1 year membership was available and my amenity months was cut from 4 to 2. My new monthly rate would now be about $88 p/m. Considering the downward spiral of the club, quite an increase in one shot. The clincher? When i asked about being grandfathered in after 15 years, was abruptly and snobbishly advised that "we don't do that, sorry." And, I was never asked why i wasn't extending my membership (gee, i wonder why). 3 strikes and I am out of there . No need to discuss strikes 1 and 2.

I love this gym! It is a cheaper, yet still high-quality version of Equinox. The staff is incredibly friendly and they have c.o Bigelow toiletries which I like. Gym has three floors (cardio floor, basketball/raquet floor, and strength floor).
Really happy with using this gym. Pro tip: if you are able to pay the full year ahead of time, you can save a great deal of money per month.
The facility is nice, clean and well stocked with towels. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

Simply too expensive for what it's worth. If you take classes all the time, then it's worthwhile, but most classes happen during regular working hours, so if you have a regular 9-5 job, you're basically paying $150 a month to lift weights. Blink Fitness is a fraction of the price for the same brand weights and machines.
Personally, I would never use my purchasing power to frequent a club that holds such discriminatory views against low income earners in an already financially stressed city.
Tamara from the Sales team was extremely demeaning. I called in on behalf of a friend who lives and works in the area with a modest income to see if the club offered any access to low income residents in the area.
After a minute or two the sales agent, Tamara asked me "Do you know who you are calling?" to suggest that I must be insane to suggest that they could offer any services or discounts to individuals who live in the area but are modestly compensated.
In response to her insulting inquiry, I responded that I did in fact know who I was calling and asked her to politely explain if her question was to suggest that she held the club in such high esteem that it was unfathomable for someone with a low-income to even desire to utilize the facilities.

This is the cleanest gym I've been to in NY & the weights & dumbells are not all over the floor like they are in the New York Sports Clubs. I went to a NYSC in Harlem & it was such a ghetto trashy gym. There's a different class of people that belong to the Health & Racquet Club & they really take care of this gym.

I love this gym. They provide everything you will need in the locker room. The gym equipments are great and I noticed that after the New Year, they updated the system (monitors) on the treadmills and bikes. This means that they constantly improve things. I also love love love the classes. I've been to their spin class, boot camp, cardio sculpt, pilates, and barre classes. Very well worth the money!

This is definitely one of the nicer gyms I've belonged to. From the locker rooms to the clean and modern equipment, this place is well maintained and has quite a bit of amenities, including a pool. The biggest downside is that it is 4 floors and a bit of a maze inside, but once you get used to it, it's a nice place to workout in the FiDi
gets crowded the moment the doors open and seems to always have a crowd. good equipment. great racquetball courts. hard to come by.

Its very clean compared to other gyms and the price is not too expensive.
A great gym ,always very clean and never too many people there at once ! The staff at the the front desk are very welcoming and helpful

Lots of room overall and good machines & weights for lifting but a challenging setup with multiple floors and awkward stairs and elevators. It's gets really crowded for lunch and after 5:30, otherwise it's great for the price.
