I have had billing issues regarding the personal training. I asked that it be cancelled, but my request was not honored and the membership was frozen so that they could charge me for more sessions. I had other billing issues with the personal training as well. I was charged a different amount then was discussed when I signed up. Also I have gotten sick after working out at the gym too many times. The equipment and the rest of the gym need to be sanitized.

Very spacious and clean. Free family hour on sunday at the swimming pool. Free parking available.

Great place to get ring worm twice. Very unsanitary, people rarely wipe off machines after use. I wish I was exaggerating! This gym is overpriced and in 4 years of coming here was rarely maintained or upgraded.

Such a worst experience. Me and my wife took a 30 day guest pass for the pool. They closed it for a month. Now Im moving away and wouldnt be able to use it. They are not ready to give a refund. They dont care to respond. Such unfriendly staff.
Never get a membership there.

Have been a member about two years and I only tolerate this gym facility due to large space and volume of equipment. What good is it if most are broken or under indefinite repair with signs posted everywhere of things being "Out of Order". I'm not picky as I mostly use free weights but most cable type machines need to be retired and are borderline unsafe with wires and pins damaged or missing.

Of course the pool is closed without further notice during peak Summer when we have a heat wave going on.

The sanitary conditions are beyond abysmal and embarrassing - do not know how health inspectors do not suspend or penalize for the conditions. Can easily contract common supdermal skin rashes and infections if surfaces and floors aren't cleaned. Men's locker room is always a zoo with broken lockers, a urinal always out of service and trash and used towels everywhere.

Everything everyone else states about contract fee hikes and having the utmost difficulty cancelling their membership is accurate - Mine steadily increased with no explanation and an overly convoluted pricing structure. I'll be looking to cancel once I'm done with mine.

DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER! I was signed up at this gym for over 3 years & it was a nightmare to cancel my membership... My wallet was STOLEN from my jacket in the locker room (partly my fault for forgetting my lock). I was over being a member at NYSPC Bayonne at this point, decided to cancel my membership. I had tried to talk to someone over 5x and no one was ever around or available to help cancel. Tried calling and nothing. Finally spoke to someone, she said my membership would have been canceled... of course, it wasn't. I then receive another "$50 + annual fee" that I had already recently paid, and continued to get charged monthly for another 3-4 months after I had already canceled it twice!

I was told I was going to receive some of the money back, so I don't share my review, but of course, that didn't happen and now I won't even get a response back. At this point I could care less about the money back, would prefer people to read this and avoid signing up and going through this headache or dealing with such an unprofessional company. Thanks.

The charge you extra without sending an email or phone call. They charge you twice in the same month. The worst part is that you will never get that money back unless it is a "serious situation". And the feed you bs lies to make it seem like they are suppose to be charging you extra

Please avoid this NYC Sports club, to the best extent you can. The Infrastructure is quite bad, the manager is super rude and they can deny you service within working hours.For instance , Mathew Rivera is the gentleman ( more like douche) that I had to deal with. The pool was shutdown 1.5 hrs before closing time. This isnt the norm in other places where they shut down 30 mins prior, to check chlorine levels etc..This wasn't mentioned on their website or in the facility anywhere. When asked why- the guy literally lost and started threatening me.. customer!!! I have been to several of the affiliated clubs in both Boston and NJ,, this one s the worst..

I've been a member for almost a year , love the Zumba classes and the inststructors Donny , Hatsumi and Lewis however my favorite is Lisandro. Also the Aqua Aerobics is very good .
I find the facility pretty clean at least to my satisfaction.
Staff very friendly always greet you upon entry and exit.
7/4/2018...... Gym is loosing it's credibility with me..needs a good cleaning . Machines have a lot of dust on them , the Studio floors are in desperate need of some TLC.the air has been broken for 3 to 4 weeks in the area where classes are performed it's 100 degrees in a room with no air and they act like it's no big deal. It's unhealthy for the workers to perform under those conditions and unhealthy for the paying customers especially the elderly ones. Pool has dirty build up along the edges that needs attention.

Air still broken and it's been over 2 months , guess they are waiting for someoneto pass out before they fix it . I feel sorry for the instructors who have to teach because this is how they make a living .
Bathroom still disgusting, pool stil dirty . Dust build up still on the equipment, studio floor in desperate need of cleaning. The best part of the gym is the staff because in spite of all the complaints its nothing they can do about it.

Place is the worst. Said they have 2 of everything downstairs. Not true. You'd be hard pressed to get a complete workout if you're above a beginner here. Machines are randomly placed, not enough leg machines (guess this place is for juicebags), anytime I want to use the pool its undergoing daily maintenance, the place is filthy on the floor and in the locker room no one re racks there weights including staff. I thought I was stepping up by joining. Definitely a step back and big waste of money. Either be a fully stocked gym or shut down. Be a gym where someone can get their whole workout in or stop it! NYSC is the biggest scam. Go to retro for 20 bucks and get everything you want but a pool. which is never in service anyhow

He ignored to talk to me for a while then when he did all I heard is a manipulation and lies. I love the gym because it is so advanced compared to other gyms I've gone to. In the personal trainers area I'm not going to lie I had to Google some of the equipment in order to be my own personal trainer. And the classes especially with Danielle are the best, she will have you seen Stars. The gym is very clean including the locker room and the pool area. Great gym.

Worst gym I have been associated with. Equipment is broken. There is one arrogant trainer. He wears a leather baseball cap pulled down over his eyes. Very rude a confrontational. Almost came to blows with him. Claims to be using equipment, but just sits there on the phone doing nothing. Canceled mempership because of the suitation. Man needs to be fired. Place looses members because of this person.

If I could not rate this gym with a single star, I would. This is by far the absolute worst gym in Bayonne. Management is a joke. They don't give a damn about the condition of the gym. Machines are ALWAYS broken, half-assed fixes, overpriced membership, "maintenance fees" that clearly don't go to maintenance and dirty locker rooms with used towels on the ground daily. Avoid this gym at all costs. Go to The Forum or Retro on Broadway. You'll get more bang for your buck.

Overall a decent experience. Better than most of the gyms I've been to, including retro, golds, not as packed as some of the more expensive gyms plus there's a pool. My only drawback is that the staff isn't always helpful but that's everywhere you go nowadays

I used the gym for for months while on my visit to Bayonne. Gym is very well equipped and maintained. The shower area is always clean and well supplied. Staff is generally helpful. Clean swimming pool.
I loved it.

The environment is pleasant, however they need to step up their game. The gym is not cleaned regularly, which can be seen by the layers of dust not only on the machines, but also on the floor mats. Machines are consistently broken and take months to repair. NYSC also likes to charge their member's an annual fee 2 times a year (members should keep track of the payments). I have spoken to them about this issue. Yet no credit has been made on my account, even though i was told this issue was resolved.

this is the second billing issue I have had!! I was billed a late fee even though i have autopay back in March was told they would refund me.... guess what still no refund so I opted to leave the gym and what do you know the last month, this month, I was charged another late fee with no refund as well. Not sure who is in charge but both local and corporate were of no help. This is a great scam you guys are pulling off. I was a member for many years and now ill take my business elsewhere.

Location is great - no issues with parking. Club is clean, staff is friendly. I don't do the classes, just elliptical machines, rowers and free weights. As I am a passport member, I use other NYSC clubs on the weekends. One thing I notice in other clubs (Ramsey, NJ in particular),they have a much better selection of kettle bells, balls and straps. Perhaps this is something the Bayonne club could address.

Consistent billing issues and no resolutions. Gave it 3 chances with billing errors but enough was enough. Liked the location because of its space and proximity but now I rather just take the drive to my preferred Retro. NYSC has some nice amenities like the pool and the sauna, the latter which is usually not hot enough or out of service. The place is hardly, if ever, organized. Essential equipment is sometimes/usually out of order. The tension in the cables is not accurate, making it appear the weight is more than what is actually being lifted. Other than the size of the club/the building that it's in, there won't be much to miss.

If I could give it -1 stars i would. Very bad customer service from a local person. I wasn't expecting that much of negative experience, from a local resident. First of all they failed to disclose the membership fee to us which we got charged +$150 for, it is not even money factor more so the fact that we didn't sign any paperwork saying or informing us about such, and the lady that was helping us sign up while there were no reps available , NEVER even disclosed it to us. To make matters worst, the concern was brought to the manager, which she seemed unbothered and disgusted with our presence and our concerned, she didn't even seem to want to help us,...She finally promised to waive the month membership for both of us, then 2 weeks later, get charged for a membership fee.
