my wife and I has gone to multiple gyms, but so far this is great gym. as parents I would recommend parents to attend, the kids club is what makes it great for parents. the ladies that work there in the morning and afternoon do a great job with the kids. I feel comfortable leaving my son there I always have great experience with both. The equipment are little too close to each other and when its crowded you will bump in to anyone. other then that this gym is great employees are friendly so as the trainers as well. the parking can get annoying with the 2 hour parking but there's always parking around the gym and its understandable since the parking lot is for other business as well. lastly owners/mangers need to talk to their employees privately not in front of customers/children.

Good class times which is why I joined however most of the trainers do not have a full command of English language nor do they conduct their classes in English mostly in Portuguese maybe at times in Spanish. Also their cardio equipment need repair/replacement especially the stair masters and treadmills. The duck tape repairs make the equipment seem unsafe.
Disclaimer: BE CAREFUL what contract you sign with these people, they have you sign a "special" that has what I found to be a confusing cancellation policy.
My process of cancellation took two weeks from beginning to end because I kept being told someone would get back to me and no one did. I had to keep calling and the mangers were often too busy to answer the phone and the people attending the call would only suggest to me to all back instead of taking down my info.
To sum it up they kept repeating that the cancellation fee was in the contract, OK got it, but I'm cancelling because I'm moving and I CANNOT attend.. that should be taken into consideration, at least reduce the cancellation fee or something? ...Nope!
Question: How does the monthly fee of $32 and a cancellation fee of $300 correlate? That's a huge leap (almost 10 times the monthly fee).
The customer service in my time there has been mediocre at best, everyone has attitudes and walks around entitled in that place. I don't get it and I don't recommend and I will not be back nor tell my friends and family in Newark to join or rejoin Evolution.
To the owners of Evolution please read my suggestion:
Educate yourself on how to write contracts or have a native English speaking professional write them for you. Take courses on customer service and management as it has been less than mediocre and please follow through with customer satisfaction (my request for a reduction in the cancellation fee considering my move would have went a long way with me).

Terrible place , machines are way too close together. Powerlifters beware, not allowed to use chalk or deadlift without matts. Also saw an associate/owner inappropriately touch one of my friends on her thigh while working out. Cops were called but nothing was done. They try to lock you in with 2 year memberships and make it impossible to cancel. Ultimately, the parking lot attendants don't allow you to park your car there for more than 2 hours. When you stick around longer than allowed, they harass you on your way out. Not a good place to work out long term.
If you prefer a boutique gym this is your gym.Diffrent packages allow you to go certain times and days.
It is fun to assist here. Everything is the right place. Classes are very good staff very friendly.
Excellent gym, beautifully done aesthetically and decoratively, but the equipment is also top notch, staff is super friendly and the members all know what they are doing and have excellent gym etiquette. I will definitely be coming back here to work out as much as possible. Highly recommended.
This has been my spot for 3 years now. Can't complain. It's clean ( I go in the mornings), all the machines work, there is free space for stretching, etc (unless there's a class), everyone is friendly, other gym goers are courteous. It's a great gym can't say much else!

They don't have enough equipment and the staff isn't very friendly. Parking is a problem and my credit card keeps getting charged even after cancelling membership.
They are rude on the phone not to just me to many people I have asked about. I tried to get a price more or less of how much the gym membership was and they refused to talk any of us about prices and told us individually, we need to come in for a consultation. We explained we were new to the area and before coming in we wanted to see if the price range was something we can afford. Two people laughed it off and they still said no membership talk overt the phone after asking to speak to a manager or someone more uncharge they said no one else is more uncharge then them ?. Very Arrogant customer service. If we go into the gym we will make sure these two people girl and guy, do not sign us up and hopefully there is a better to more accommodating gym around the corner.

BEWARE! They charged me for a WHOLE year after my contract ended. When i disputed they sent my account to Collections and i'm being harassed daily by the collection agency. Gym is way too hot and membership overpriced. In fact, it's the most expensive Gym i've ever been to and the pricing model is very complicated. SKIP THIS GYM. GO TO IRONBOUND FITNESS, PLANET FITNESS OR LA FITNESS IN THE SAME AREA.
The only problem with this place is that they only have two squat racks. Otherwise, they are very clean, have great equipment, and helpful staff. Also, they have saunas. Greatly recommend it.

Shower broke there is not hot water, the front desk guy is not polite to let u know don't use steel boots for next time, he sent to home, complete rude, for me is more safe for workout, small, no privacy

I first started going to evolution fitness in 2013, at first everyone was very friendly and nice. In 2015 I canceled my contract for personal reasons and came back in oct. 2016, i was advised that I would be signing a one year contract HOWEVER after 0ct. 2017 they still kept charging me. When i called the gym i spoke to a woman named Chris and she said there was nothing she could do and that they would send my name to collections. I have placed a complaint with BBB and New Jersey consumer affairs. What is unethical is that they trick you into a two year contract and offer no support whatsover. STAY AWAY !!!!! There are much better Gyms in the area that actually have customer service.

The guy called Joao started talk to me saying "funny your reason to end the contract " soo if my personal reasons are not importante for the business who provides service "I'm not welcome"... I'm sorry but I don't recommend start a plan with them. Change the address and the Gym it's a choice for everyone...
I've been going to Evolution for quite some time now and till this day it's my favorite gym of all. The staff is great, the facility has some very unique workout machines, and very clean. The juice bar has some really good selections and if you want a good meal you can also get that there. The towel service to all members with no additional charge is something I really appreciate, which no other gym offers without membership tiers. It's a good environment even down to the people who come there know to rack their weights is a must. It's also a very clean gym. By far the best gym I've attend to this day.

It is great gym but it is small for the amount of members they have. I cant complete my daily routine because the machines that I want are usually taken.
