Went to this gym as a quest with a friend of mine who is a member. Now this location does have an indoor pool, basket ball court, cycling room and open floor room, the machines are old, they squeak, and do not see staff cleaning the machines or provide whips or sprays to independent clean the machines. They do provide clean towels when you enter the gym, but I don't think that's enough. I do like some to the machines and equipment that the have but the condition if them is a bigger turn off. I didn't choose to become a member, especially at the price tag they offered with those conditions I mentioned.
This is one the best gyms in the area. Pool is clean and well maintained and they have a wide variety of fitness machines and classes that keep me coming back for more. I love this gym!

The New Rochelle location is not very clean. The pool, especially, is quite disgusting. Although there is a mandatory swim cap rule, the life guards are reluctant to enforce it, either because they aren't observant, which in itself is problematic, or they just don't care. There is hair floating in the pool. There's debris in the corners of the pool. Also, a tissue remained on the pools edge for over a week. It seems that no one even walks the perimeter to check for cleanliness. Many lifeguards seem to use their shifts to catch up on social media. Also, the temperature of the water is too high for lap swimming. Several emails to the pool manager and the general manager went unanswered. Plus, don't be tempted by low rates. Keep in mind that parking costs $1/hour. Add that to your monthly fee and it's no bargain. If you're looking to swim, check out Iona Colleges athletic department. Non - students can join for a reasonable rate, parking is free, and the pool is pristine. The only positives I can say for the New Ro NYSC is that the women's locker room is clean and the people behind the front desk are very pleasant.

The gym is always well kept. They have a great pool and basketball court. Plenty of classes for those who enjoy them. And in the years I've been a member, they didn't have towels available 3 times. That's pretty impressive considering the traffic going there regularly.

It's a shame the life guards don't do their job. Are they even life guards. What is the point of having a life guard if all they do is go into the storage room or behind the glass to text of their phone. Literally, they have one job, and that's to make sure they watch the swimmers. For such a brand name gym I'm surprised the staff is so untrained. This is seriously reckless, people's lives are at stake when it comes to swimming, the least you can do is hire a life guard that does their job. Overall the gym is a nice place, I wish they had earlier fitness classes. They have all the machines one would need. It's a shame human life isn't a priority. I see you guys have cameras in the pool area. It's best to use that to make sure your staff is doing their job.

Ok so I am a former Equinox girl but since I am no longer in Manhattan, NYSC is the next best thing.... Clean towels, bathrooms, and showers is all I need to receive the free classes and personal training with this membership..... See you in August with my new body
Beware, as they're cancellation fees should be absolutely illegal. They are already expensive although they have the pool and nice space and equipment, I was a member for 3 years nearly. But the cancellation fees are very disrespectful to the customer and a terrible business model. I already payed the expensive monthly bill which was worth it for the Health benefits but they're hours should've been 24 hours, it's unbelievable they weren't.

I've been a NYSC member for seven years. The gym here is not my primary one but frequent it every week. I love the size of the gym and it's location. Paying for parking keeps me away. Also, my membership cost rise when I don't see any upgrades that justify the cost.

There are never any towels, the sauna is disgusting, the dance/yoga studio is never swept and mopped, the yoga mats are very old and worn, the free weights have grown legs and walked out of the building. The only thing that keeps me coming to this place are the amazing instructors; besides them this place is horrible!
Worst towel ever, I won't even use it for my dog! And they only give you one! Small as a hand towel! Wet floor out of shower... Terrible experience!
Overall a good workout place if you only wish to work out on the machines. I used to attend everyday for about 3-4 hours. Begin with Basketball , then weights , lastly swimming. Reason for the three stars was because of the fact that this NYSC allowed too many people causing a overload at times and making it difficult to do such activities. Also, i was told i could not use the therapy pool anymore ( which we would sometimes play water basketball in which was a real bummer ). Overall okay but they could improve on things such as the cleanliness and repairing machines sooner.
I'd like to start by saying I've read almost 100% of these reviews and I truly honestly believe more than half of the 5 star ratings are either fake created accounts or members of the staff looking to improve the image of this particular club location.
I've been a Passport member for over 10 yrs & even though the New Roc location is closest to where I live, I try my best not to use this location, sometimes at any cost.
The locker-rooms are often messy, used towels everywhere, loud vulgar language mostly from workers.
8 out of 10 machines are usually missing a pin, to change weight resistance OR simply not functional. Certain equipment is out of date compared to the White Plains and Mamaroneck locations.
I witnessed & had to come to the aide of a member whom was LOCKED in the shower area by a worker there because the worker wanted to leave the facility early on a Sunday (6:30PM when the club was scheduled to close at 7PM). Can you imagine being locked, half naked, with only a towel, in the shower after a long day of work on the weekend simply because someone couldn't find staff to close up & clean up at the proper time?
As a paying member and an avid fitness enthusiast I truly hope this location gets better staffing and actually pays attention to the REAL reviews here. It's such a convenient location....
I have been a member this gym for three years and services and installation have becomed really bad. In the begining, I used to go just to the pool, which became DIRTY, CLOUDY WATER, COLD WATER, where you felt unsafe to swim. Once, the pool was not good for use and they said nothing so myself and other people went inside, as soon as we where in the water and saw how bad it was, we went to complaint about it. Well, no apologies at all from them, they just closed it for few days. After that, pool has been on and off, until they have had it close for the past 2 months and a half. Not good for peole like me that enjoy swimming.
I have given a chance to work out, but machines are broken, gym is dirty. You see placs of dust in the floor. They do not vacuum or clean the floors. Ohh!! But they increase the membership regardless of their lack of professionalism and good service.
Been a member for years. Great classes offered, but gave a 3 because they are not taking care of the gyms I visit. Need major upgrades.
Gym can get busy at prime time but most members are good, staff is friendly and its decently clean for a gym
I love taking Zumba with Gigi. She is the best. Always know how to motivate her students and pushes us to be the best we can.

Gets crazy crowded and there is no gym etiquette with the other gym goers. Staff is generally helpful. Machines stay broken for weeks. Normal gym
Just too packed. Great equipment, a pool, all that, but just so packed. Hope you like going on Sundays
Worst place had a 7 day free passport pass manager didnt let me in said either 20 dollars or sign up now very rude staff and management wouldnt even let me check out the place as first time visitor. Would never go back.
I go a little further out of my way to the Larchmont NYSC becuase this location is in a Trump Plaza. NYSC I just can't and you lose a lot of cred.
