Great space, excellent customer service. Love the early morning classes and the music and art cultivation that accompanies the mindfulness practice. I'm not an expert yoga practitioner but I always feel comfortable going to Shakti!
you simply don't know how good yoga can feel until you try it here. No more second guessing yourself. No more throwing your body haphazardly into herky jerky poses at the command of some former ballerina turned "yoga instructor." When you practice yoga at Shakti you are first welcomed into a community of real, honest to goodness people, and second, welcomed into your own body. Doing yoga here is a lot like having cheesecake for the first time.... while orgasming......check it out.
A wonderful studio and teacher in a revitalizing area of the city.
I attended an evening vinyasa practice, and it wasn't quite what I expected. Far more spiritual than physical, the flow wasn't so much instructor-led as it was self-led. Not bad, but it would have been helpful to know that ahead of time. As my companion put it, "I feel like I was just at a service in the church of yoga". If you prefer more meditation and less exercise, this place will suit you well. Beautiful practice room.
