I went to the baby's first food with Caitlin Kiarie and it was really nice. She's very high energy, friendly, and approachable. You can definitely tell she cares about teaching nutrition and I definitely walked away learning some stuff. I only recommend they upgrade some of the chairs, since they weren't comfortable for long sessions.

I am so thrilled that I found Montclair Baby early in my second trimester when pregnant with my first child. The yoga classes have helped me adjust to my body's changes during each phase of pregnancy and helped me feel so much more at ease. The hypnobirthing classes with Kim are helping me so much to feel as prepared as possible for birthing my baby, emotionally, mentally and physically. She is so knowledgeable, easy to connect with, and honest, and I feel she is truly equipping me for the easiest birth possible by flowing with my baby and trusting that my body is made for this. Finally, Jen's infant care and breastfeeding class taught me and my husband so much and answered so many of our questions. I truly want to thank Kelli, the owner of Montclair Baby, for this gift she has given to all the mamas and mamas to be in the area by offering so many types of support and a community for us to come together in!

Kelly is the absolute best Doula ever. She is such a wonderful and patient person. She got me through my entire labor. I continue to go to the classes because I love being a part of the community at Monclair baby!

I attended the same class as the one mentioned below and had a completely different experience! I found it to be very thorough and informative. The instructor, Kelli, was kind and supportive. I was happy to be led through some of the written materials as a group and enjoyed hearing the stories of the other couples attending the class. As a pregnant lady in her 3rd trimester I appreciated all of the snack/beverage options that were available. The class was long but my husband and I were surprised at how fast it went. We valued the experience so much that we already signed up for a different class and feel grateful to have Montclair B.A.B.Y. as a resource to help prepare us for the birth of our child!

Very nice place, feels like home. The teachers are great, and it's a good place to meet other pregosaurs.

1/2 Day Lamaze Class:
I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about Kelli and this class! As an expectant mother (and father) you never know what to expect at these classes or where to start with questions. By opening the class w simple intros and packet exploration it gave us the tools to formulate questions and look at things we hadn't considered before. Kelli is extremely knowledgeable and can tell she really cares and loves what she does. The intimate setting helps to get parents connecting and exploring topics together. She did lots of great child birth prep activities that I told my husband to remember for the big day! I highly recommend this class to everyone! Especially those that are looking for more than a run of the mill hospital class, and one that nutures the desire for a more in touch birth experience! Wish I could give 10 stars! Thanks again Kelli and Montclair BABY!

I attended the same class as the one mentioned below as well and I could not believe the lack of space in the room or why 10 couples were booked for such a small location. It was very uncomfortable to say the least. As a pregnant woman in her 3rd trimester I would expect a little more space. My feet were nearly touching the other woman's feet! And one small bathroom to be shared by men and women? Oh dear. In fact, I had to climb over people just to get to the bathroom, and I have a bladder condition. Maybe these conditions are acceptable to other people, but not in my book.

We arrived on time and entered the "building," which was actually a room, and everyone was staring at us - very strange and unwelcoming. I'm not expecting the couples to be welcoming, but even the instructor was not welcoming to us as customers.
Another couple came in later and the instructor was not prepared for her and even insinuated that one couple maybe should not have been there or was in the wrong class.

Since it was just a room, an interested client out on the street stopped in during the middle of our class and interrupted the class.

We were played a video that was not really informative. I recommend The Business of Childbirth for something more informative.

Further, the birthing equipment was shared among couples and the instructor had to get them from the car in the middle of the class. I tend to wonder if the birthing balls, peanut balls and squat stools ever get cleaned before or after they were passed from one person to the next.

Way too much time was spent going over materials (we know how to read) instead of instructing and allowing people to ask questions. There were no classroom management skills and it was not organized. I was expecting a schedule broken down hour by hour.

It was not up to par with other birthing classes at other facilities and there was a general lack of respect.

Thank you.

We are very grateful to have such a great resource in Montclair.
