Fun place for kids. Younger ones might like it better than the older ones.
There are a lot of crawling and climbing. Long panties what we wear. Some people wear knee pads. Comfortable sneakers definitely is needed. Then, clothes is something that you don't worry to get dirty.
My son sweats a lot after excise, so I always prepare another set of outfit to change when we leave.

We are from out if town but heard such great things about the City Museum. First off, it's not a museum, which is what we thought. But it's a wonderful the kids to expend some energy. It's basically an indoor exploring area and it's huge! There are caves that they can explore but bring a flashlight. There is a great outdoor area if the weather cooperates. Inside is an aquarium and the rooftop has its own jungle Jim's area.

We had the best time with 2 adults and a 15 yr old. Plan of traveling there again with 6 - 17 year olds this summer. Nice that you can check coats and bags for a small fee but be prepared to wait in line for that. And definitely wear knee pads! They're also available in the gift shop. We thought the cost was reasonable

Can you describe this place? Best workout and fun day in the books! Anyone can have fun here. There is no map but your inner child will run wild here. Good luck finding the 10-story slide and pay extra for he roof. It is worth it!

Here's a few tips based on my experiences here.
1. Bring a flashlight! 1 flashlight per person will make it a lot more fun and make you/kids feels like a real spelunker.
2. Wear closed for shoes that have good traction. The shoes I wore were closed toe, but they had no traction so it made navigating caves a little difficult.
3. Kneepads are a good idea, especially for adults who are going to want to get down and play with the kids.
4. There are arts and crafts areas for when kids need a break from running around, but still want to have fun.
5. The maps on the website are not particularly useful, but it is more fun without them.
6. Be cautious of signage. There are some signs that can't be seen very well telling you not to enter a certain area.

There are little nooks and crannies all over the place so it is fun to run around and explore. I came with a group of college students and we could have spent the whole day there and then some. Encountering random slides in the caves were a lot of fun.

I wish something like this place existed when I was a kid. My brother and I tool my nephew to this place while visiting St. Louis. It's freaking AMAZING!! Think of the best jungle gym you ever played on growing up. Now, imagine it being 6 stories tall and covering 4K square feet. That's what City Museum is. Best I have ever seen.

I'd advise against letting the kids run through the tunnels without knee pads. I would also say to make sure your kid is accompanied by an adult for safety reasons.

I just want to say I am so impressed with City Museum, and we haven't even been there yet! We had planned a trip to St. Louis last summer, and I had purchased tickets months in advance to visit there. The weekend we were supposed to go my son had a rare infection in his knee bone that required surgery and a hospital stay, so obviously we could not go. I emailed them explaining the situation, and that it would most likely be months before we could come because of how much crawling etc. is required and we needed time for his knee to heal. They said, don't worry about it- we will keep your tickets on file and when you decide to return they will be there.
Fast forward to now, and we are finally planning a trip back. I couldn't find the credit on my account so I emailed them again, and they have been nothing short of wonderful in helping me. Since I still couldn't get it to show up on my end, they asked when we planned on coming and went ahead and processed it all for us. It's a few dollars more now than it was back when I bought them last year, but they are waiving that to just keep it even.
Such wonderful customer service that I think is hard to find these days. I am so appreciative and we can't wait for our visit!

I was visiting from Idaho when I heard about this little treasure! It was fantastic, to start, after a long day of flights and meetings I was afraid we would find nothing to do, but it was open until midnight. The museum 'displays' works of art and play created with salvaged materials. It was beautiful, unique, and tangible. You could touch and climb on about everything. This place was fun and made me feel like a kid again. Climbing through the planes and some of the slides took some guts! Wish I would have had more than 3 hours. I would highly recommend. Fun for all!

No place like it in the country! A true adventure and jungle gym for kids and grown ups alike. No maps. Have fun! Make sure to wear clothes you dont mind getting dirty and are stretchy. Sneakers are also recommended for all. Plan to spend the whole day - its totally worth it. This is coming from 6 late-20-somethings with no kids.

Visited here from Florida and didn't want to leave. Man i wish there was places like this where I was from. It was adventurous and a great workout. I spent hours and i barely saw half of it if i was lucky. It's a must see and enjoy. Let your inner kid come out and play!!

THE best! Had a great time! Lots of fun and laughs had by all... from toddlers up to grandma. The food court is reasonably priced and tastes really good! Plan on spending several hours here and don't be in a hurry... enjoy! We'll be going back soon... definitely worth the $.

This place is absolutely awesome for all ages! Went here with my wife and her daughter and we had a blast and then some!!! So much to do its unreal! Big slides, places to climb up and down like a jingle gym but better! A 10 story slide and a 5 story slide! Two ball pits for kids! A Ferris wheel that's up top of the roof! A pond that has stepping stones to walk across! A school bus that goes over the edge of the building up top of the roof! Viewing binoculars to see all over the city! It would take you a whole day if not more to do everything that's inside there!!! Fun for everyone there!!! This is a must stop if you're in the St Louis area!!!

The best. I always bring friends and family when in from out of town. Area can be sketchy at night.
