This place used to be a 10 out of 10. Until they stopped making this place 24 hours. Also they try to shill you stuff you dont need like trainer courses and more. Also the guest pass mechanics are super hard to understand. You cant bring in a guest after 9pm but that changes in the summer time? You can't bring in the same guest twice during a month? Also stop calling me all the time that is super annoying.
Best Lifetime in Detroit Metro area!
Awesome youth and adult martial arts program teaching traditional Karate.
Parking is a little tough during rush hours; but plenty of parking spaces - park far out and walk in.
This review is for the Lifetime Fitness Spa - specifically the hair salon part. Over the years I've gone here on and off and regretted the "off" times. You can rely on them for good results. I've seen different stylists over the years and am currently with Abby. She's great! The prices are reasonable and actually really good when you consider you aren't taking a gamble - you'll leave with good looking hair that looks professionally done.
I absolutely LOVE this place. It is like a resort in itself. You have everything under one roof - gym, basketball, tennis, swimming, rock climbing, yoga, bicycling studio, Spa, hair salon, healthy food, free high speed wifi. One can literally spend hours at this place. They also have really awesome classes - I like AMP Bicycle and Cycle Sculpt. Try to get one of these before your workout and you will not need to spend hours at the treadmill to get through your cardio. I find this incredibly refreshing.
In addition, they have dry and wet sauna, showers, and fresh towels. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, shaving cream, and hair styling gel are complimentary. If you are into serious fitness, there is no place like this. People say it is expensive - but try to divide the monthly payment with the total number of days in the month you workout. If you are regular, it roughly comes down to the price of a coffee from Starbucks per day. Such a small amount for your health and wellness!
I am yet to take my orientation course. I believe, it should be a lot of fun!!
Very good place to go out for many activities with family and friends. It got tennis courts, swimming pools for both kid's and young people, gym with all machines and amminities. Staff is very friendly and helping. Neat and clean, fresh towels for pool and gym. There is a dedicated kid's playing area, closed; with caretaker staff and you can let kid's playing and enjoying here while you got engaged in workout. Basketball courts, cafeteria/ food court is also available.
Yes, and a huge parking space.
I personally found this club bit on costlier side considering when all your family members are joining. For individual member charges are justified but not for family or groups.
Haven't used tennis courts or squash so can't comment on that. Also I'm not sure if there's squash rooms. Hope this would help you planing your work. Happy sweating.

Beautiful Gym. Always clean. Friendly staff. Unfortunately it is HEAVILY overpriced, even more so when they start cutting the 24 hour availability. Not the biggest issue to close at midnight, but everyone knows closing at midnight also means closing off some areas(especially spa) even earlier in order to make sure everyone is gone BY midnight. Taking away the 24 hour benefit and not specifically giving something new and/or not lowering the monthly fee is not a great long-term business model, but this is just one person's opinion.

What Lifetime lacks in affordability it has always made up for in availability. This is sadly no longer the case with new 4am-12am hours. I, as well as a handful of other members, have consistently worked out in the late night/ early morning hours for the better part of 4 years. It's more peaceful, no lines for machines, no kids running around...you get where I'm going. This, however is no longer an option. With membership fees most people wouldn't dare pay... some of us bite the bullet so to speak, mainly because of the clean environment, friendly staff, and most importantly 24 hour access. I can assure you that during the hours of 12am-4am, cleaning certainly does occur, but not to the point where members should be denied access. With fluctuating work schedules it was never a worry whether one could make it to the gym before closing. I have literally not been able to make it to the gym at all since this change. It truly is a shame they've ruined such a good thing. For $84/a month I dont see the incentive for staying on as a member.

So I absolutely love this gym and have been going here for years but effective August 1, 2018 they are now closing from midnight to 4am...rating this gym 3 stars because of the hours change otherwise I would give it 5. I guess, unfortunately, I have to find a new gym on my way home. :(

The place is clean but the staff is pretentious unlike the troy location. I love lifetime and always workout but i like to be around people who dont feel as if theyre better than everyone
I've been a member for almost 2 years now and truly enjoyed this gym but they are changing their hours and are no longer a 24 hour gym. They raised our monthly dues and upgraded the gym status from gold to platinum with no significant benefits added. They only recently got new treadmills but its not all new they're scattered new - some new here, some old here. With being considered a more high end luxury gym regardless of who goes at what times I don't see why you can't stay open an additional 4 hours and find it necessary to close from 12 am - 4 am for a 'deep cleaning'. I think it should be open 24 hours for the price we pay especially for those of us who want to avoid the non sense the gym becomes in the summer with every kid in the Rochester - Rochester Hills area taking it over. They recommended I go to the Troy or Shelby Township LifeTime as its still 24 hours there. I live in Rochester, I don't want to drive to another gym 20-35 minutes away when I pay for this one specifically. I might join Planet fitness and still keep my lifetime membership but the fact that I have to do this is very upsetting. I hope others give them pushback on this so that we can make this a full 24 hour gym again.
No longer going to be 24 hours, but the membership went up and they aren't discounting the difference in availability. (which would be roughly 1/6th of the a available hours).
Already the most expensive gym around. I've been a member since 2015 but will be canceling now. Only reason I started going to lifetime in the first place was for their availability
Lifetime is nice because of all of the amenities, you can get it in a wide range of workouts and treatments. Sometimes it can get crowded but because of the number of options that is somewhat contained. The staff is really nice at this location.
Very good studio with great staff, my personal training with Jake was exactly what I wished for: good instructions, nice talk and no pushing to take extra costy courses! We also bring the kids along for basketball, climbing or swimming sessions very frequently. Prices are high but reasonable for the service you get!
I love the hot tubs and the pool area. That being said lifetime should fix the problem with the floor drain right outside the locker rooms...... it's the one on the floor a few steps out of the locker room it seems to not let the water drain and if you look close enough you will see little black worm looking creatures coming out of the little hole in the tile ...... pretty nasty I told management about this over a year ago and they have yet to fix the issue. It's nasty bc I watch people step on the little nasty creatures not even knowing they did so...
The TV reception over the past couple of weeks has gotten bad. I've tried 2 different headsets and can't get ESPN or FOX well at all during workouts. Before this time, when it stormed and the Direct TV went out, I had no problems. It seems as though the signal strength has gotten worse. I wish they would fix this.
Out of all the lifetimes I go to this one has been the best. This gym is much bigger then the other ones and it never gets too full even when it's busy with the amount of machines they have. I always feel comfortable here and I never feel claustrophobic. They do there best to keep it clean here, and the members are respectful to one another. The staff is great I always get greeted when I walk in and walk out. Love this lifetime, thank you. Also please do not change the lockers to the combination lock!!!! Not a lot of members like that please don't change it PLEASE !!!!!!!
Change of opinion. The equipment is fine and there is a lot of it. However, their customer service is horrible. They automatically charged me for a "Lifetime Magazine" that I never ordered nor wanted then have since refused to refund me the money. If you plan to sign up tell them right away you don't want their magazine so you aren't charged months into your membership. Will be changing gyms.
Thank you for hosting the Spartan Race workout! The staff was top notch! Facilities are clean and well organized! One of the best places to work out!
I leave for a year for work overseas and come back to all the really good personal trainers gone that I use to work with and talk to. There are still some good ones like Michael and Jeff but the rest are really rude and have no education on fitness. They just want your money. No care for the members, only want your money.
I don't know how it is now but figured give my review. Good experience. A personal trainer Justin was social, didn't push for me to purchase sessions and we just chatted back and forth. Just the way it should be.
Checked my progress just for fun, talk about working out and golf.
