I'm in the military and was stationed in the area in 2016. I worked out at this gym for 3 years and loved it. The facilities are nice, and the staff is wonderful. They have all the equipment I need (free weights, machines, plenty of cardio options) in addition to a pool, sauna, and steam room. The atmosphere is also non-intimidating and friendly. What sealed it for me was I was sent overseas for a year and cancelling my membership was simple and hassle-free. The manager is more than accommodating. I've recently returned and I am more than happy to start up my membership with them again. Highly recommended!!
I spoke with the manager today and had an excellent workout! The steam room was spot on. Great selection of items.
I have been a member of this gym for a couple of years now and I can confidently say there is no better gym in the area. Clean, organized, and well equipped. I recommend this place to family and friends.
I love this place! The equipment is neat, the whole gym is kept clean and most of all every employee at Lakeforest Sport & Health is super nice and amazing! The front desk staff have never failed to smile and greet me both when entering and leaving the gym! I myself swim at this gym and love the warm reception that I receive from the lifeguards and aquatics director. I've been to plenty of other gyms and none of them have made me feel as great as I feel at my gym Lakeforest Sport & Health!
Phenomenal facility. The gym is extremely clean and has so much different equipment to offer. The staff is also amazing. The workers at the desk, the membership consultants, the trainers, and even the general manager were extremely friendly and ready to help. Would definitely recommend this club to anyone!

Unassuming, modest exterior, but love the darker lighting inside. Lighting can subtly set the mood of your workout and I can really get into a zen mode here.

Awesome place, I fully recommend it:
- the best staff I've seen until now. Super friendly, professional and making you feel at home and in a trusting environment.
- it has all you'll need. I am not a gym persin by any measure, but they have equipment, lots of it.
- they have racketball court!
- they have classes which look really fun.
Lakeforrest S&H is worth it, both price and what they offer.

I LOVE my gym LAKEFOREST SPORT&HEALTH IN GAITHERSBURG MARYLAND. Great personal trainers, staffs and enthusiastic gym members. Mr. Adam GM works very hard to make the better gym. I give it five stars.
This is an updated review. I closed my membership for personal reasons. They are a bit pricy anyways. When I asked the accounts manager Tracia Spell for a freeze, the options were a bit unfair. Of course they tell you its all in the terms and conditions lalala. This may be true, perhaps I overlooked .The deciding factor was this: The medical freeze option they have will not allow you to use the gym, but they will keep taking money out of your account for a membership, fee and they will require a doctor's note upon return. So what the hell is the point of an account freeze?? Being in the medical field -I took it personal.That is a RIP OFF. Of course, someone will reply to this post to auto correct feelings. My opinion still stands. The staff is still very wonderful, but it was time that I re-evaluated my membership. So like others, I have moved to another gym in the area. We all know which one that is...Thank you.
Well, I have been a member for about 2 years now. I have seen plenty of transitions. The trainers are very kind and passionate about what they do. My first trainer was Jeannie. She is phenomenal. However, she is super busy!! Next, I trained with Sebastian. He is new, VERY knowledgeable, and focuses more so on a Physical Therapy//Stretching standpoint. In my case, this is great!
Now, the gym recently produced all types of new equipment!! They are fun to use, and offer a variety of workouts. The front desk staff, Daisy and Kim are very sweet. Don't let Daisy catch you with free time on your hands, because she is HILARIOUS.
Before, I joined, I came right to the review page. There were mixed views. In terms of cleanliness, they keep it up. They also have wipe stations everywhere for you to clean equipment down before/after use. I have not visited the aquatics section yet. It is a "homey" community gym. I pretty much know all of the staff. If there is an issue with a staff member, do not hesitate to leave it in a emailed survey, or contact management. Adam will def reach out to you.
I may not give it a 5 just yet, due to little nit picks here and there, and the $29.99/m is a bit pricey compared to planet fitness $10/m. However, they are always mailing/emailing promos. I advise that you take advantage of ALL that you can for this price. Trainer packages are not that bad either.
I saw someone left a review about this gym being full of thieves,liars, and racists. I do not know their experience. This is a DIVERSE gym. I have not encountered such nonsense. Always bring a lock to a gym. No one has lied to me yet. I am sorry this person had this experience.
I am overall happy with this gym. I accomplish workouts , and leave de-stressed. Do not forget to try yoga in the mornings!! Joyce is warm!

I met their GM, Adam, working at the customer service desk and did not even know he was the GM--very nice and friendly! The space is large and with a diverse set of equipment for virtually any exercise you want. I also like the fact that they have adequate written information/instructions wants to opt-in for. I'm impressed and highly recommend this health club!!

If you are looking for a gym to go to this is the one. Great staff who are very friendly and want to help you reach your fitness goal. Equipment is well spaced out and up to date. Locker rooms are clean.This is the best gym in Montgomery county.

While I really appreciate the super friendly staff and decent exercise equipment, they should be more accommodating to parents. My main issue is the parking. There are designated parking spaces for parents with a sign that says that "violaters will be towed". Well, what is the point if they never enforce this?? I look into the cars that park there and there is no child's safety seat. When I get into the gym, sometimes there are no other children, yet ALL the PARENT DESIGNATED spots were taken. I am a parent that is forced to walk from the upper level parking lot. I wouldn't normally complain about this if it were safe, but it is NOT. Myself and my toddler (in a stroller) were almost hit twice by people in their cars whipping around the corner. I am sick to death of this because my complaints have fallen on deaf ears. (I have made almost half a dozen complaints). They do nothing to change a solvable situation. Post signs in the entrance of the gym about the towing. Interrupt people in the middle of their workout so they can move their cars. If that doesn't work, call the towing company! It's as simple as that. Message to management: Step up your game or you will lose your parent members to other gyms. There are plenty of other choices in the area.
Lake Forest Sport and Health Club has undergone significant upgrades over the last year. Lots of new equipment, redesign of some areas a generally improved atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful and all of this has made my transition from the now closed Rio facility very smooth.
I discovered this gym back in 2015 and the staff have been incredibly welcoming, kind and caring towards me and my fitness goals.The pool is very high quality and is by far my favorite place to swim in terms of pool portions, cleanliness, and location. Although I don't live in the area anymore, I still happen to drop by now and then and enjoy the facility.
Awesomeness! Club is recently renovated and a ton of equipment added. Way bigger in the inside than it looks when you drive by. Price is VERY cheap/reasonable considering all you get. Membership director, Erwin, will give you a good joining offer.
This gym works for both regular customers and athletes. I am an high performance athlete and it can be very hard to find a gym in this area that understand and take care of what you need in training. I like the variety of people that trains their. From day one I have felt very welcomed by all the staffs and they always have time to help out!:)

They are always finding ways to improve the gym and help the members reach their goal. they just renovated and their prices are very good for what they have to offer. Trainers are always available to speak to about any tips.
I love this Sport & Health so much! The gym has everything I need for my workout. To add, the amiable staff tries their absolute best to accommodate you no matter what it is you need or request from them. Adam has been extra gracious to me and my family as we transitioned from the Rio location to this one. Because of him, the transition was very smooth and caused no problem for us at all. Thank you to Adam and all the staff for making going to the gym always a pleasant and positive experience for us!
