Great gym which is conveniently located in the heart of Bethesda Row. Coming from Miami this is perhaps the second best equinox besides the one in the Gables.

The layout is easy to work around on the main floor, just kinda wish they had more ab machines and the steam room could have been bigger.

one of your wokers, cheistina, was very rude to me. I came into huy memberahios for ervteone at my work and then she thrw up on me. So I did not buy the membershuos. No stars.

Best gym I've ever gone too, no ifs or buts about it. Equipment is always on point, staff is ALWAYS great (at least to me they have been top notch all the time), and facilities in general are just immaculate. I've been a member for some time now, and I have no complaints. The price might be "high" for some people, but that's when you don't take in consideration what Equinox in general has to offer. It's a great company in general. I've had the opportunity to workout in several other locations in the States and Canada and I always leave with a smile in my face.

Equinox is the best high end gym company there is.

If you really enjoy working out, join any of the Equinox locations.

I usually never leave reviews but I had to contribute after my negative experience at this gym (once) for a free trial may I add!!! The staff was incredibly rude. The front desk was very dismissive when I informed them that I was a prospective gym member and worst of all was maintenance. The lady who was working that evening was very pressed to have me leave the shower area despite the fact that there was over half an hour prior to closing! I did not pick up on all the relaxed vibes that my coworkers mentioned. I have to say that I won't be joining after such negative encounters with front desk and maintenance. Help yourself and find a place where you can actually enjoy the amenities a gym has to offer.

Bought several items from the shop. One had a tag that was removed while I tried it on because the metal clasp was stabbing me. Asked specifically if I could return -- was told yes! -- and bought a few extra things so I could figure out what went with the pieces I already had. When I tried to return one (the one that the tag had been removed from since its metal piece stabbed me) they wouldn't let me. When I spoke to the Juliette, the manager, (after waiting for her for 25 min), she treated me like I was lying and trying to scam them and was rude to me. No one would have ever told me I could return something because that was not store policy. They did, and even convinced me to buy an extra outfit since there was no risk. Juliette finally gave me store credit, which I don't want. Never want to buy anything from this place ever again.

So there are a few negative reviews about this site about staff and such. Let me speak to those first. On the staffing, I haven't really ever seen them be rude to either myself or anyone in the gym. I am always greeted by my first name and they drop their conversations with each other when I walk up to speak with them, and promptly answer my questions.

On the lack of equipment, I thought the same thing at first. Then I realized that everything I needed was there and I never really have a hard time waiting for my turn to use it. Plus there are "Blue Shirts" walking around to help you out with equipment and advice. Haven't seen that at other gyms before at this level of play.

When you go there, you will get a sense that this place is a high end competition gym. What I mean by that is that most people train here four to five days a week, people are in good shape (but I wasn't when I first joined), and it isn't a causal environment like most places. I like that feeling as it motivates me and I am neither a meathead nor a gym rat. I am like a little Bethesda Hobbit that loved eating WAY too much.

In two months, with the help of a training partner, and following their advice on exercising and diet, I have lost 24lbs and 6 inches on my waist. Did it take a lot of effort and is the gym more expensive than most? Yes, to both. But, if you are going to put the effort forward to change your life and become healthier, stronger, and happier, then here is the place to go. If you are working on a budget and want to go to the gym, but not on a more consistent basis and just want to go at a slower pace, than this isn't for you.

I can easily recommend them to people who are looking to change their life for the better through hard work and dedication. Price is the only downside, but you are going to a gym in downtown Bethesda, so consider that is a major factor.

Totally save your money and even get a personal trainer at your house before dropping a dime here. A golds gym equipment is so far beyond the lack of machines and diversity here. Most of the staff is extremely rude and unaccomodating. I am so upset with wasting my money here.

I called them to cancel membership at least 2 months before expiration and they confirmed that with me. what happened was I checked my Amex account by chance to look up something else but noticed this company has been still charging my credit card... they are very dishonest and I will take an action soon. they shouldn't treat us like that. my suggestion to my neighbors is that it would be better look around, because there are so many fitness centers around with a good customer service, highly ranked trainer and equipments plus reasonable price with no restriction for cancellation.

Damon Foster (Ballet Barre) and Gia-Ninh Chuang (Pilates) may be one of the most professional and informed instructors in our area. I look forward to their classes because of them! The purposely dim lit cycling room coupled with instructor Lindsey Hutterer's motivation and good music (sound system is awesome) make the otherwise challenging class bearable. The gym is super clean all the time, the staff is consistently kind and the class variety appeals to me. It doesn't hurt that the refrigerated eucalyptus towels are waiting for me either. It has a community feel to it and oh, the spa. I know people who don't belong to the gym who go to the spa b/c of the staff. Glad I joined.

Joining Equinox is probably one of the best decisions I made in a while. I feel motivated to work out daily due to the location, amenities, equipment and price point. Let's face it - you will feel bad spending the money on a monthly membership if you're not going often. This is the main reason I joined. Brenna is my membership advisor and she is extremely helpful, friendly, down to earth and a great person to work with. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a tour of the club! I am always greeted with a smile when I check in, the club is spotless, the amenities are luxe, and I don't ever have to wait for a machine. My boyfriend and I are so happy we joined and are looking forward to reaching our health and fitness goals together. My best piece of advice if you want to join and think the price tag is hefty is this: cut down on spending money going out to eat and invest in your health...you won't regret it!
Update: the spin classes are amazing!

Feels like home, always better than greater with a better commitment to Equinox!
It's not a gym it's Life! Commit to something!

One star because I absolutely have to.

I really enjoyed my memebership here all the way up until cancellation.

The process was so invasive and ridiculous you'd think you were working with NASA on a space exploration. Things that absolutely were not their business was continually asked about.

I had the displeasure of being charged wrongly for two months, when pointing this out to Victoria pagonis from Bethesda instead of fixing it, It took nearly 2 weeks of proving the charges were not right where and continually asking to speak to someone else before the refund was agreed apon. I asked when I would see the funds hit my account. She said 5-7 business days. Estatic I wouldn't have to deal with this company or Victoria anymore I waited. On the 6th business day I followed up with Victoria that the funds would be in my account the following day. She proceeded to tell me it had only been 3 business days. When I asked how that's possible when the cancellation and refund being processed took place 11 (full) days, and 8 (business days) later she didn't respond. I JUST WANT TO BE DONE DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY.
I moved to California, a full 3000 plus miles away and it's been over a month and Victoria continues to change dates and then refuse to respond. The negligence is astounding. Customer service here is severely lacking but only when it comes to cancellation due to relocating or refunds of wrongly charged membership dues. This is my third wrongly charged membership due, one was in the middle of my contract and took close to a month to get refunded and this one has taken close to 2 weeks now, still waiting on it . I honestly can't recommend going here unless you know you're never cancelling your membership or relocating in which case, enjoy but know Victoria and Brad both will ignore calls and emails when you're disastisfied.
