So there are a few negative reviews about this site about staff and such. Let me speak to those first. On the staffing, I haven't really ever seen them be rude to either myself or anyone in the gym. I am always greeted by my first name and they drop their conversations with each other when I walk up to speak with them, and promptly answer my questions.
On the lack of equipment, I thought the same thing at first. Then I realized that everything I needed was there and I never really have a hard time waiting for my turn to use it. Plus there are "Blue Shirts" walking around to help you out with equipment and advice. Haven't seen that at other gyms before at this level of play.
When you go there, you will get a sense that this place is a high end competition gym. What I mean by that is that most people train here four to five days a week, people are in good shape (but I wasn't when I first joined), and it isn't a causal environment like most places. I like that feeling as it motivates me and I am neither a meathead nor a gym rat. I am like a little Bethesda Hobbit that loved eating WAY too much.
In two months, with the help of a training partner, and following their advice on exercising and diet, I have lost 24lbs and 6 inches on my waist. Did it take a lot of effort and is the gym more expensive than most? Yes, to both. But, if you are going to put the effort forward to change your life and become healthier, stronger, and happier, then here is the place to go. If you are working on a budget and want to go to the gym, but not on a more consistent basis and just want to go at a slower pace, than this isn't for you.
I can easily recommend them to people who are looking to change their life for the better through hard work and dedication. Price is the only downside, but you are going to a gym in downtown Bethesda, so consider that is a major factor.
