Come try it and make your own mind. They always have awesome deals for new students worth your while.
This studio owns my heart and not only because I teach there but because its been my shala for over 3 years and I have been to all studios around new orleans- that said, yoga is a personal experience so you have to find a studio and teacher (s) you connect with in a deeper level. Good luck and namaste!
Seasoned professionals with great attitudes.
I bought a deal online for Shanti Yoga and I went to my first class last week. I got there early and there were people already waiting outside. There was just enough room for all of us that day (I don't think anyone else could have fit). The first thing I noticed was the room was VERY HOT AND MUGGY. I thought this was the only negative aspect of the class. Other than thta, I think it was a good session as far as level of intensity for an "all levels" class. Overall the place is alright.
i really enjoyed my experience until i noticed that we were all packed in like sardines. it is not the more the merrier. a couple times I was having to make sure not to either slap, get slapped or kicked by the people packed tight next to me. i quit going. Plus over priced.
my teacher is quoted as saying. "I know I can squeeze in a few more."
As someone getting back into a yoga practice, I have really benefited from the instructors here. For reference, I'm on the 30 days for $30 and have done 4 classes with 3 teachers. Each class has some different poses, so you get a nice variety. There are lots of modifications for different levels and this really helps me to focus on my own experience and breathing.
The space is lovely! Practing yoga in a beautiful old shotgun is a truly unique experience. There is a great community of folks that practice regularly here. Tip: get there early to reserve the best space for your body. I'm tall and need more space. It's good to find a space by the wall or fireplace to steady yourself while you develop balancing ability. Highly recommended y'all!

I have been to Shanti Yoga Shala several time before and practiced with most of the teachers there and found them all to be compassionate and well versed in their practice. I am currently five days into a week long Yoga cleanse and detox at Shanti with the participation Superfoods Bar and have had a wonderful experience. Seven days of Yoga and seven smoothies and salads from Superfoods. I feel great! Thank You Nathalie and Joseph. Keep doing what you're doing because NOLA needs You!
