The Robert E. Lee location appears to be on a race to the bottom. Outdated rusty nautilus equipment, rubber falling off of the dumbbells and foul smelling carpet. This location also offers a cramped free weight area and a tightwad owner with a bad attitude. Other than that, it's great!
When visiting the Lakeview Anytime Fitness location for the 1st time ever, I went in expecting it to be decent, despite the older strip mall exterior. It's in a nice part of town after all. Well surprise, this club is really outdated. It was relatively clean I suppose, but it looks like it was built 20 years ago and they've maybe only painted since then, leaving all of the relics of equipment to carry on. I thought this franchise had higher standards based on a few other experiences elsewhere. Maybe this one has gotten a waiver... Thumbs down!
From what I can tell, This is an older location, but still one of the better locations in NOLA. The equipment is nautilus, which is older but different from other locations. They do have alot of precor cardio equipment and glute machine. They have multiple sets of dumbells and kettlebells. In terms of square footage its also a larger location then others. Its also at an easy to find location in NoLa at Tobert E Lee and west end.
Creepy owner named Jeff!!! Stopped in to tour gym and an overly enthusiastic older middle aged man (guessing mid-50's?) greeted me with a grin. I immediately noticed something was off. Throughout our conversation, he spent more time looking down my shirt than making eye contact. When we went into his office, he shut the door and acted like he couldn't decide between looking down my shirt or up my shorts. All I could think about was how to end the "tour" (his tour of me!!) that seemingly wouldn't end. It was literally to the point that had it been in certain environments (a streetcar or worse, an alley) I would honestly have been afraid. In addition to staying FAR away from this pervert, I will be filing a complaint with the franchise. This occurred a few weeks ago and I've been so haunted by it that I decided to share my experience. Note that I went to The Parks in the same strip mall and 2 other Anytime Fitness locations and had a totally different, respectful and non-threatening experiences. I'm only 20 and this older creep should not be in a position to make people like me feel threatened. My experience will be reported!

Those in these groups who don't know are still under the illusion that they like you because they're nice to your face. DON'T fall for it and give them your hard earned money. The staff (Aaron and Jeff) could not have been friendlier or more accommodating to my needs. YES I AM A "MINORITY"! YES THEY SHOWED ME ACCEPTANCE AND KINDNESS. They even went so far as to extend my stay multiple times without any fees or charges! I will definitely be visiting them next time I am in New Orleans and I encourage anyone else too as well!

Great atmosphere and clientele. Equipment always kept clean and plenty of room to workout. Management is helpful and make going to the gym a fun a pleasant experience!

THE BEST ANYTIME IN NOLA! Way more space and equipment then some of the other gyms I have been to and a welcoming and friendly staff that make you feel right at home! Very clean environment and personal shower rooms. I am so glad I made the switch to this gym!

The Lakeview location is a poor excuse for an Anytime Fitness! Unclean environment, mediocre equipment and an exceptionally unfriendly owner and staff. Look elsewhere!

I always enjoy coming to this location rather than the one closer to where I live because there's no intimidation at all. Everyone we've encountered is super nice and welcoming each time my sister and I come in. The managers have been great and helpful as well. The only issue I have is I wish the free weight section was a bit bigger because I feel like I can be in the way at times, but aside from that I enjoy my workouts and I will continue visiting this location as long as I'm able to.

Has a great spread of equipment (two squat racks, multiple benches, dumbbells exceed 100lbs, tons of cardio equipment.. treadmills, ellipticals, bikes you name it), with wet wipe dispensers to help keep the machines clean. Nice size restrooms and showers. They have televisions spread around the gym, along with free WiFi, fitness magazines at the lounging area, and vending machines at the door.
Been coming here for a year and a half, never had a problem! Proud to call this place my second home. :D
The place is clean , very up beat ,the staff is great ,very friendly welcoming atmosphere ! Great mix of all ages from teens to seniors - I think a lot of gym members have been coming to this lakeview location for a long time so many people all know each other , there is a great fun camaraderie and the staff is always willing to help you with a smile on their face and the trainers are great!!! I have an amazing very experienced trainer,all the clients and gym members love him!!

The first gym in Lakeview after Katrina. Friendly staff and solid free WiFi. I only wish they had Concept 2 row machines.
I have known the owner and staff for more than 5 years. They are helpful and friendly. I am not sure who this clown is that says they use racist remarks but that is a bold face LIE. You need to grow up and get a life.
