While most staff have been super friendly, I recently had a terrible experience and will be cancelling my membership this week. I went there with my boyfriend, who is from out of town and thus not a member, and was told he would just need to sign a waiver. I mentioned he was from out of town, so they would know he was not just someone local trying to avoid paying a membership, and another woman overheard and told us he was not allowed to work out there without paying $15/day because of their "out-of-towners" policy. I politely tried to explain that when I signed up for membership I had asked about him coming and been told it would not be an issue, as it never has been at LA Fitness or any other gym, and was aggressively and rudely talked down to so we left.
The next day we were given a "vip free proof pass" while shopping at the Summit, and attempted to use it as it said nothing about being subject to any proof policies or any out of town restrictions. When we showed up the woman stared at us so we explained we had one of the guest passes she'd told us we needed, and she proceeded to yell at us that "she had already explained multiple times that those don't apply for out-of-towners" and that she "was busy and didn't have time to deal with us."
Won't be back.
