I LOVE this place. It is expensive, but I've seen such a change in my 20 month old in just two months. The child who was terrified of new experiences and clung to me now runs freely and plays on everything. I definitely recommend it, especially if you have a shy child like mine. They also change the entire layout of the play gym every two weeks to emphasize a new concept (like up and down, hard and soft, etc.). Robin is an excellent owner/director and so understanding. Upon hearing I lost my job, she actually gave me a break on classes and allowed me to keep coming. I could not be more grateful for how she has treated my family. The staff there are all understanding and actually seem to love working with kids. I do agree with the other review though, I wish there was more open gym time! Overall, my son loves Gymboree and I love taking him. It's hard to find a very toddler oriented play area, but this definitely fits. If you're on the fence but you have the money, I'd sign up.

It's a LOT to spend nearly $20 for an hour of play per week. However, the benefits of learning new physical skills and social skills such as sharing are probably worth it. Children learn the routine and begin to anticipate the coming events. The rooms are clean and well maintained, with bright stimulating colors and all sorts of tactile surfaces. I do wish that there were more "open gym" times to make the monthly charges more worthwhile. It seems like such little effort on the part of gymboree staff to just be in the building and play some music while the kids run around. There should be more time available for that sort of free play. That is... play that's already been paid for!
